    I was married on my 28th birthday right after I had converted to Contholism. My husband & I did not have sex before we were married, that white dress meant something to me. My father told me as a teenager that if a man really loved a woman he would not ask her to have sex. ❤❤❤

    TRUE. It’s NOT an easy religion. As a well - respected Catholic priest one said : “You’ll feel like you’re in a desert”. But Catholicism is not without its merits, either. ✝️

    • @kevinrtres

      The *ONLY* merit that counts is Jesus' righteousness imputed onto the repentant sinner.

      @MarilynBoussaid-yd1vk Месяц назад +1

      I like very much the image of the desert. "I will lead her into the desert and speak to her heart." (Hosea 2:14)
      The desert can be a romantic place of encounter and intimacy, but it can also be dry, and at times, painful. The desert is where God chisels away everything that is superfluous, to paraphrase Michelangelo. As the Israelites were tested and trained to walk by faith in the desert, living on manna, that supernatural, heavenly food, we are traversing the wilderness of this world, nourished by Eucharist, the supernatural, heavenly food of the new creation, as we journey towards the real Promised Land, our Heavenly home.
      If we get discouraged when we feel like we're in a desert, I think it's helpful to ponder this.

    • @ignatiusjackson235

      @@ignatiusjackson235 Which is precisely in stark contradiction with what the bible plainly says, namely that you are justified by faith. Sacraments doesn't enter into the picture whatsoever.
      Of course if your religion is an authority unto itself (i.e. not subject to written scripture ) then it's fully OK to have a sacramental system that produces righteousness.

    • @kevinrtres
      @kevinrtres Месяц назад

      @@MarilynBoussaid-yd1vk Sounds great but unfortunately it flatters to deceive. You said : *nourished by Eucharist, the supernatural, heavenly food of the new creation* and I just have to disillusion you. There's nothing supernatural about the wafers - it's all man-made stuff and it truly doesn't get changed into Jesus' body - if it were the substance and DNA would have been changed to reflect that of Jesus' flesh - but I'm 100 percent certain that if someone tested it next Sunday it would still show up as simply man-made wafers. Manna was different as the bible clearly shows.

    Saying, "What's the point if everyone gets in anyway" is the argument of the older brother of the Prodigal Son.
    It's never "nothing" or a waste of time to be blessed to be able to participate in building God's Kingdom. If God's mercy let's others in at the last moment, awesome. They didn't get in easy! They missed out on knowing God better during this life.
    We are so backward and blind sometimes...

    • @MarilynBoussaid-yd1vk
      @MarilynBoussaid-yd1vk Месяц назад +2

      You made an excellent point. We often forget the reaction of the elder brother, and fail to realize we're sometimes exactly like him. We all need God's mercy to get into Heaven. But you're right, those who haven't known Him in this life, even if they get into Heaven, will have missed out on the blessings of knowing and loving God here on earth. You expressed that very well in your comment. Thanks!

    I think sometimes the idea of God's mercy is misunderstood. It sounds like we're saying that God will just let anybody into Heaven even if they hate Him. I think that the way the Lord converted me is an example of how He shows mercy even to the dying, even at whatever moment in God's eyes is the "last moment." In my experience of God's mercy, I was converted by a dream. In a fraction of a second, I understood that Jesus is real, that He's alive, that He has all the power and all the love, and that He had come for me in this remarkable way. I fell head over heels in love with Him. I gave my life to Him, saying, "Lord, I'm yours Body and soul, do whatever You want with me." He led me to the Catholic Church, and I've been a happy, grateful Catholic now for over 30 years.
    I think that what He did for me is something like what I imagine He does for others at the moment of death -- whenever that is, in His eyes. I think He reveals Himself to each individual in a personal way, and they have a "last chance" to accept Him as their Savior. It's pretty much an instantaneous experience. There's still the possibility of refusal, although honestly, it's nearly impossible to refuse when in that moment you know absolutely for certain who Jesus is. That's just my opinion, but I think, from my own experience, it's plausible. There are stories from the Saints and mystics that support this idea. Jesus loves each of us that much. And if He could forgive me, He can forgive anybody.

He who trusts in My mercy will not perish, for all his affairs are Mine, and his enemies will be shattered at the base of My footstool (Diary of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska, 723). " In this case a right is something deserved like the rights you have to particular freedoms in laws. Not earned but given

      Transubstantiation says that bread changes substance and becomes the body of Christ. This is biblical as Jesus says this IS my body.
      Consubstantiation is Luther's version where he said that Jesus comes into bread which remains bread. So Jesus is present but at the end of the service you can throw away the bread as Jesus isn't there any longer. There is no biblical support for this view.

Now I'm 21 and moving back and forth a lot for college so it's hard for me to form lasting relationships with a church. When I go to mass by myself now I often feel like a child in a man's body and fumble my way through the service every time. Looking for some advice, how should I approach becoming catholic? It does seem like most who won’t enter the Church now, want to choose some of what Jesus taught, but not all. And in the end, it’s all or nothing.

    My daughter came yesterday from school and asked about videos advertising the next of times, the 7 years and 7 seals, the eclipse and warnings of not leaving home that day, prophecies… I tend to think that God will provide, and we just have to continue to live in the best imitation of Jesus we can portray, but young people, kids that are in their way to college, she thinks, if the world is going to end, why would I go to school, why would I go to college? My faith has had time to mature with relation to my daughters faith which is still questioning and searching for meaning and truth, as parents, how do we face these times, the words on the Bible about tribulations…

    We are much too relaxed with the idea no salvation outside the Catholic church. It was infallibly defined in a council. The very, very few exceptions to those who do not know about the Catholic Church are few. How can we, as Christians, skim that for earthly feelings. People's souls are at risk. I'm not God. I don't make exceptions. I follow his word. I get it we wish to be kind but through love and courage idk if it's safe to let people think it's not necessary. Notice the except for the last 100 years. Isn't that a scary thought. Watch and pray.

    Presumption is an easy sin to commit when a bishop provides the "it is good to hope that hell will be empty" sound bite. This can be seen as a pastoral failure. Most of us don't remember the technical context of that interview, but we do remember what feels good (or bad).

    Why would the worst sinner be most deserving of mercy. I'm thinking, so much sin that I avoid is already by the grace of God. Or because I was blessed to be raised with an understanding of God and that we do have relationship with God. So many have no clue about God or love or kindness or selflessness. When God finally reveals himself to this person, He really has to give it them a shot.

    I married at 16- years old forced by my mother. I didn’t have children until I was 20 but we had pre marital sex. I stayed married until my husband passed still no other spouse in my life. But I was not married into the church until we were married for 15-years. Often I felt we were sinners in the eyes of the church and God until we were married in the church we stayed married 42-years.

    14:22 the church exists to complete Christ’s sacrifice. It’s not good for man to be alone… and so His bride is created. We are invited to participate in his mission and be an extension and testimony of his goodness. Does he need us? No. He desires us. How awesome.

    5:51 it’s reasonable to HOPE. It’s not reasonable to THINK. Our HOPE is what drives our prayer. Some of those we hope for will not make it, but we do not know who of those we hope for will be. So we absolutely should be acting on the HOPE that all could go to heaven.

    I was received into the Catholic Church two years ago, after 61 years as a Protestant Christian. For me, the hardest teachings to accept concerned Mary: her lifelong virginity, her assumption, and her queenship. I would actually like to learn more about how we have come to see Mary as the Queen of Heaven. I think about this every time I hear the rosary mystery "The crowning of Mary as Queen of Heaven." (I used Hallow to pray the rosary!) I accept the church's teachings--I would like to learn more about this one.

    I have been told that it is believed that when a person dies who never heard of Jesus, Jesus will appear to that person at the moment of the person's death and at that time, the person will have to accept Jesus as his savior. Jesus knows this person has never heard of him so he will give the person the opportunity to accept him or reject him.

Unfortunately, we can say what ever but tolerance and men not standing on what the church teaches is why we are where we are. Because i see people that where raised by good strong Catholic parents and the difference in them and then me is astonishing. I hope Jesus can help me be close to that.. ill die trying for sure if anything for my 3 kids.😢

    12:22 the way I see it and have heard from some priests or others, if you know the Catholic church is the true church of Jesus, deep in your heart you KNOW but turn away and choose not to go, you're in trouble.... but if you're ignorant or born into some tribe in Asian or Africa and have no clue who Jesus is, you will still be in trouble for mortal sins you commit because deep down we know what's right and wrong, we just have a darkened conscience. But with our prayers and the mercy of God, maybe he does visit people like this in a dream or maybe he visits them on their death bed. But I don't know and I think that only applies to people who had no idea who he is or were straight up not sure. But those who do know... or are warned many times and keep rejecting it... they've made it clear what choice they made.... we should still pray for everyone though, even those ancestors or people we know that have died already.

    Thank you for bringing up the health risks of contraception for women. While mostly safe, like any prescription, it depends on the person, and other affects can be serious, And you still might get pregnant. 99% effective means out of 100 women on the pill for 3 years, 3 will get pregnant. Seriously gentlemen, if more men genuinely loved and respected women as you two obviously do, a whole world of problems would go away.
