I agree! I had to pick up a pair of the V2s after putting 450+ miles in V1 (they are still going strong for my easy days). I think what I value most is how protective these shoes are for my legs. They leave me in a consistently fresher state of recovery which helps with more training volume. Long durability, high versatility, and no gimmicks. Asics knocked it out of the park.

have been doing slow runs in my GT 2000 for years, impeccable shoe! Bought the superblast earlier this year because I realized, that I should not run a Marathon in a carbon plated shoe. And I gotta say I love the Superblast as well, even wore them on Treshold sessions and they are doing an excellent job. Did the job perfectly on Race Day as well, i think for a lot of Non-Elites the Superblast is also a good option for a Marathon especially when you need some stability.

Hi Ben, Superblast is king of the super shoes :). I have more than 800K in my Superblast OG, and shoe feels still good. Very good durability. Was also successful to get brand new version 2, so soon will start using it. I'm really looking forward to using another version 2. I loved Saucony Endorphin Speed lineup, but currently Superblast looks better more verstaile and more comfortable than Speed 4. Thanks for you thoughts. I'm glad you love this shoe too. All the Best. Ben regarding bulging discs, looks to me that in my case it was because of imbalance of lots of training and insufficient vitamin D3. So maybe consider if you have enough those supplemets vitamin D3, K2, Magnezium, Zinc and B vitamins, all working together and providing necessary nutrition for discs.

Yeah, great shoe. I like that I can run a bit slower a bit more comfortably than the first version. I must say, it took two maybe three weeks of straight running in them to feel the total comfort of the ride. Not sure if it was the foam that needed to break in or me getting used to the shoe but I wasn’t that impressed initially. But, boy, it gets better and better.

Also they will allow you to train more than your body is capable of, hence you are prone to an inevitable big injury because you moved the bottleneck from feet to your knees/hip,/spine.
Good luck and use shoes wisely, train in very thin sole and race in super shoes.

Both perform well on long runs, particularly with some faster work (e.g. today I did a 20 miler with the last 6 around half marathon pace.) Both feel stable, a notable improvement for NB4 over NB3. SB is more versatile if you want to use it for races.

I found my self asking the question "Will running in such a cushioned and bouncy shoe, like the superblast 2, over a long period of time cause your feet to become weak and increase the chance of injury?"
    Here's what I found:
Running in cushioned and bouncy shoes like the Asics Superblast 2 could potentially weaken foot muscles over time. Heavily cushioned shoes can reduce proprioception (your foot's awareness of the ground), which may lead to underdeveloped muscles and reduced stability. This can increase the risk of injury, especially when transitioning to less cushioned shoes or running barefoot. To prevent injury it’s important to maintain a balanced approach by incorporating exercises that strengthen foot muscles and regularly running in different types of footwear to promote overall foot health.
Take of this what you like!
    Have a great day.

I just bought the cool grey/silver colorway but I WISH they released this colorway instead. The all white and logo that bleeds down into the midsole looks cooler than the ones they released to the public.

I fell over on a run in Superblast 2 last week. I think my running form is not perfect at the moment. But the high stack height doesn't help. It makes the shoe unstable.
I don't blame ASICS. I just wanted to say say a high stack height also has some drawbacks.

I bought Superblast 1 as my do it all shoe but, unfortunately, it wasn't for me. I'm pretty light so I don't compress the foam well so I find myself fighting to get over the forefoot. The Neo Vista works somewhat better with its softer foam and more rockered geometry.

Speed 4 id say are a little more minimal. They have a nylon plate and for me are tailored more to tempo runs. These are more protective so suited more to steady longer efforts. Despite being very light, they do feel a little clunky due to the size of the midsole so that’s one benefit the saucony have- more of a race day feel :)

Hi, thank you for the review! I had a pair of Novablast 4 and I started having some issues after 400km. Probably due to my extremely forefoot running style, I found the upper and the midsole collapsing too easily, making my foot not still and causing some abrasions. Do you think it will happen the same with the superblast 2 or it is substantially different?

Love the superblast 1, did about 1,000kms in it. From my experience, the midsole in SB1 feels okay till about 900km and and once it starts feeling bottomed/flattened out, it feels quite dead. Not the gradual deterioration I've experienced with other trainers. Did you find the SB2 upper better in terms of breathability than SB1?

I have a pair of Novablast 4's that I absolutely love for easy runs and even off road because it's extremely stable like this one. Now I definitely want to try the Superblast but your only downside is a dealbreaker at this moment, it's too expensive. Perhaps in a few months when prices come down.
