Asics has to surely be the shoe brand of the year. With the Metaspeed Paris, Novablast 4, Gel Nimbus 26, Magic Speed 4, Superblast 2, Max Trabuco 3, and the kayano 31 that is one hell of a shoe line up.
@@GrassFedKao I'm wondering whether I should buy the Saucony Endorphin Pro 4 or the Asics Superplast 2. I need the shoes for a 5.9km (=3.67 miles) business run. I'm currently running with the Asics Nimbus 21 and the Saucony Triumph 18.
@@finkmanfredjohann If you mean a business run as in a social group run then the Superblast 2 would be fine. It’ll be your quickest shoe but also very comfy and enjoyable. If you mean like a company sponsored race then the Endorphin Pro 4 would get you a big PB and make you stand out. It has a carbon plate meaning that if you purchase it you should only use it for races or runs where you want to go really fast and/or long, not every day easy/slow type runs. The Superblast 2 is a more lenient option where you could use it every day if you wanted to, like your Nimbus/Triumph but naturally faster
The SB 1 is incredible - it can be used for anything. I’ve ran a marathon in them and they were superb. Yet, I’ve also ran within 6 seconds of my 5K PB in them!
Add me to the list of OG Superblast superfans. It's rare for a company to absolutely nail a shoe design with V1, but ASICS pulled it off with SB1. So much so that it's one of the very few shoes I own more than one pair of. I'm glad they didn't ruin it in V2 and improved the two things I had minor quibbles about -- the upper, and the pebble collectors in the outsole. 👍And complain about the price all you want, but they can't keep 'em in stock which should tell you that it's priced what it's worth to us fans!
I really can't say enough nice things about Superblast 1. It's my #2 favorite shoe of all time (after the NB SC Elite V3). Speaking as someone who owns all three of the original illegal stack height shoes, I've always loved how the SB1 sits right between the PX and SCT1. The (OG) PX doesn't like it when you go slow. The SCT1 doesn't like it when you go fast. But the SB1 is a goldilocks shoe that doesn't care what pace you take. It eats it all up. And it does its magic without a plate. Or even multiple. And it's the lightest of the three. With SB1 I don't have to decide beforehand what type of day I want to have. I can listen to my body and adjust my workout on the fly.
Asics rocks ! I started this July running super fast in a pair of my Magic Speed 3 and today (Tuesday) I did a long run in my moderate speed on my Gel-Cumulus 26. Wednesday is to relax in an easy short run on my Gel-Nimbus 26 and July 4th the run will be done on the Nova Blast 4 ! All shoes from Asics that I got até just amazing and super stable for my overpronation needs.
Your explanation of the 2 parallel Asics shoe lineups is great honestly. I would have no idea how to differentiate all these different shoes otherwise. Thank you so much !!!
I commented yesterday, but your point on comparing the different line within ASICS was so good that I had to watch this video again. You nailed it! Thanks
As a flipper-footed individual I’ve dealt pretty well with the fact that not every shoe (running or lifestyle) will be available in my size. The SB 1 & 2 are a couple of the rare exceptions… I’m super jealous and want you all to know that I will be giving you the stink-eye while I’m chugging along in my Novablasts
I’m usually running with my ASICS Gel Nimbus 25. They’re perfect for me, because of cushioning. I’m feeling pain in my kness after 5km with Cumulus for example. I need really super soft shoes. I was looking for something softer than Cumulus, but lighter and faster than Nimbus and just bought Superblasts. I’ve just returned from my first test 8km run. I’m rather slow, running ~6min/km and it feels lighter but a a bit harder than Nimbus. Still comfortable for my knees, no issues at all. When you start running like 5min/km they start to bounce back and then you can feel it’s potential. I’m 100% satisfied with my pair and I strongly recommend it to people with some weight, that don’t want to damage their knees.
How do the SB2 fit compared to the nimbus 25? I have the 25 and am hoping to be able to order the SB2 in a couple weeks when Asics release them up north
@@walleye204 SB2 feels really light, even a bit lighter than cumulus, but a bit softer and when pushed harder more bouncing which gives extra boost when running faster.
Great review and reinforces my purchase - Pre-ordered mine off the Asics site and literally checked an hour later after purchase and my size was sold out. Just in time as my SB 1's have about 700+ miles on them. For the short speedier runs, I just use the TS10.

Loved this 2nd iteration by A LOT. Used this for a marathon distance couple weeks ago and it surprised me with how fast my recovery was. For me, the ride was pretty much similarly amazing with the SB1 but this version is way cooler 😅. Loved the design and the colorway. In terms of heat on foot that I feel during longer runs, to me this version is better. Similarly with the outsole, to me it has more traction and I feel more confident in every stride despite of the surface condition.

Thanks for this! I'm certainly going to try out the SB2 even though the SB1 hurt my knees to the point I couldn't run in them. I *really* wanted to love those shoes, but it just wasn't meant to be.
Big fan of the Nimbus. Using that as my easy shoe along with an Endorphin Speed 4 for workouts and NB SC Trainer V2 for long runs. Likely will run full marathon in the SCT but considering an Endorphin Elite 3/4.
I really love the Superblast 1 and I don't think the updates for the 2nd version are enough for me to get it at the moment. I'll only get it if my Superblast gets worn out which will not be anytime soon. Thanks for the review. :)
1st version in my opinion is for stride runners not for cadence. Sometimes it felt uncomfortable on the Heel Counter which affects your stride and if you reach 100km, i felt my heel is hurting already, probably they can improve the foam of the second version. Yes, its bouncy and springy which I love.

- can get you through 4.5 plus hours running or on foot
- doesn’t generate overkill with racing designed foam, plates, profile

I passed on the v1, but pre-ordered the v2... excited to see what all the hype is about.
Hope you enjoy!
Hoping you'll review and compare this to the Topo Specter 2. Thanks for the review!
THIS is the one I've been waiting for! (To quote the stone roses)
Top Notch Opening as Always 🔥❤🔥
Thank you
Great video breakdown!
Thanks for this! I'm certainly going to try out the SB2 even though the SB1 hurt my knees to the point I couldn't run in them. I *really* wanted to love those shoes, but it just wasn't meant to be.
hope you find something that works!
I’m so excited to get mine!
Always best running shoes review 👍
Yasss! Definitely was anticipating this review. Big decision...big shoe!
Big fan of the Nimbus. Using that as my easy shoe along with an Endorphin Speed 4 for workouts and NB SC Trainer V2 for long runs. Likely will run full marathon in the SCT but considering an Endorphin Elite 3/4.
You did your BIG one with this bro!!
Great as usual! Thanks!
Great review. Thanks for this
Thanks for watching.
I really love the Superblast 1 and I don't think the updates for the 2nd version are enough for me to get it at the moment. I'll only get it if my Superblast gets worn out which will not be anytime soon. Thanks for the review. :)
Sounds like a plan. Happy running!
Great video. Thank you
Finally, Kofuzi explained how the Asics line-up works! Hurray!!! Anyways, off to find a pair of discounted SB 1 now 😂
Good luck!
Your very good at your job kofuzi
That is very kind. Thank you
Superblast fams, unite!!
I been waiting for this one. 🙌
Thanks for waiting!
So useful
In my opinion, higher stack running shoes should offer more comfort, a little softer but more bounce back
That is a great way to describe the Superblast
Much awaited… finally 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks for your patience!
1st version in my opinion is for stride runners not for cadence. Sometimes it felt uncomfortable on the Heel Counter which affects your stride and if you reach 100km, i felt my heel is hurting already, probably they can improve the foam of the second version. Yes, its bouncy and springy which I love.
Awesome review. What would your ultimate shoe rotation look like if you could only choose 1 shoe for each category?
I don’t really have an ultimate rotation. My rotation is always whatever I’m testing
