  • Today, we’re diving into the ASICS Novablast 5, a shoe that the Japanese brand claims will revolutionize your running game! Packed with upgrades in foam technology, design, and materials, this fifth edition promises an unbeatable mix of responsiveness, comfort, and durability.
After taking them for a spin around my local routes, here’s what stood out:
1️⃣ FF BLAST+ Max Foam Upgrade
This lighter, more responsive, and eco-friendly foam delivers incredible energy return with every step, making each run feel effortless.
    2️⃣ Trampoline-Inspired Outsole
Perfectly designed for propulsion and cushioning, this outsole excels in both slow jogs and fast-paced sessions, giving you a smooth and bouncy ride.
    3️⃣ Improved Grip and Durability
The newly designed outsole offers exceptional traction on various surfaces while ensuring long-lasting performance, even after many kilometers.
    4️⃣ Engineered Mesh Upper
Breathable and lightweight, the upper keeps your feet cool and comfortable while offering a secure fit. The stretchy gusseted tongue further enhances the overall snug feel.
    5️⃣ Sustainability Meets Performance
ASICS uses eco-friendly materials, so you can feel good about running green without compromising on performance.
    Why Choose the Novablast 5?
Whether you’re gearing up for a slow recovery run or training for a marathon, the Novablast 5 feels like having a trampoline under your feet. It’s versatile enough for both amateur runners and seasoned athletes.
And let’s be honest-who doesn’t want a running shoe that’s stylish enough to double as casual wear for grabbing a post-run coffee?

I still prefer the 4 for being a bit more reactive and less energy sapping, especially at slower pace and after some outings of heavy usage. Great review

Thanks for the feedback! Totally get that-sometimes the 4’s snappier feel can make all the difference, especially for those slower-paced or well-worn runs. Glad you enjoyed the review!

I found the 4 slappy and firm at slower paces. Much prefer the 5s at slow paces.

Hi, nice video! Could someone with a weight of 120 kg use without any problem the novablast or buy the nimbus? What do you think?

Hi Alexandros, thanks for the kind words! At 120 kg, both the Novablast and Nimbus could potentially work, but the Nimbus might be the better choice due to its extra cushioning and support designed for higher-impact runners. The Novablast is more responsive and bouncy, but it likely won’t be as durable under higher weight over time. So I do not recommend it. If comfort, stability, and durability are priorities, I’d definitely lean toward the Nimbus.
