No matter how good or bad an expansion turns out to be you can be guaranteed there's always a piece of music in every expansion that completely blows me away, and that piece begins at 9:55. I have this up there with the pre pull music for Illidan in Black Temple.

Then new writers used the same name to create a different character and pretended to replace Sylvanas with somebody else. After that....there is no excuse for the replacement Sylvanas. There is no redemption for the replacement Sylvanas. It is absolutely and undeniably not possible to make the new Sylvanas' actions appropriate. It doesn't matter if she kills the Jailor. It doesn't matter if she frees the Val'kyr who bonded to her. It doesn't matter if she opens the Maw and releases all the souls. It doesn't matter what they do with new Sylvanas....it will not excuse the behavior and actions that new Sylvanas took from Cataclysm through mists through wod through Legion through BfA through Shadowlands. The new Sylvanas is worthless and contradictory and inconsistent and ridiculous.

Alright, since people are discussing their ideas, here's my theory for Sylvanas going into Shadowlands. She'll succeed in breaking the wheel of the Shadowlands. All she wanted in her Undeath (pre-cata) was to be free. Then she learned she would never be free, even in death. It doesn't matter if your soul goes to the Maw or joins a covenant, there's always another master to serve. So she'll succeed in breaking this system (I'm leaving this vague, cause who knows to what extent or how) giving the souls of the dead true freedom, but we will also have our chance to kill her. Whether or not what she's doing is a "good" goal is irrelevant, and she will be made to answer for her crimes. Just... not until after she's "won."
Ye. That's the best case scenario if they wanne appease majority of the playerbase. I dont mind her winning, and defeating the jailer or whatever as long as Tyrande or anyone gets to axe her soon after. I dont trust the trial system in wow since garrosh escaped. Though I love meh boi Garrosh and believe he did nothing wrong and thats a discussion in of itself, I'm really worried if they kerriganafy sylvanas.
This soundtrack have such a cool vibe , in one case it's sad , but on the other it's told you there is no hope is lost , and still a lot to move forward, maybe one of best what happens in Shadowlands expansion

Little sad to be thinking of how much Sylvanas has been built upon. That her life has been enslaved and all she wanted was freedom. Her story line is one of the few that a lot of people will remember for sure.
People don't seem to get that and say she did horrible things. Yes but also she is trapped in what she consider eternal torment being forced to live when all she want it the peace of death (true death) and it is denied from her. I personally get why she might be acting the way that she is.

One part goes in death to the Shadowlands, while the second part remained undead or becoming trapped as a ghost in runeblade and if they will die in Azeroth than they go into the Maw. So Sylvanas, like Arthas, Uther, Antonidas and who knows what else... they are divided on two halfs - good half of soul and the bad one.
@MoonH I think it possible you are misinterpreting the title of this music track. It does not say the free will "of" sylvanas. It does not say free will "for" sylvanas. For all we know....this could just be the music played because Sylvanas is constantly trying to challenge and defeat the Free Will of one or more people captured in the Maw for her master. A little bit of spoilers...from the shadowlands beta so far we know that Thrall and Jaina eventually get saved by us from where we left off at the intro scenario for shadowlands. But not Anduin. So it is entirely possible that she spends all her time while we are leveling up.... torturing and taunting Anduin trying to get him to abandon his free will. And since Anduin has been primed to learn all the tough lessons from cataclysm to pandaria to his vanguard in wod to his depression and catharsis and resolve in legion...to his ineptitude and groveling in BfA..... it is entirely possible that he resists that torture and taunting. As for Sylvanas... there is no redemption for her. Nothing she does will excuse or explain the bad writing for her since cataclysm until now.

Arathi, Teldrassil, Lorderon, Proudmoores and Baines Torture, Thralls assassination attempt, the abduction and torment of key figures in the Maw. Either one of those deserves a tormented sentence to be tortured in the Maw. As much as a fan of Arthas I am, his redemption wouldn't have been as enticing an idea if he didn't pay for his pride and actions. Though while he had somewhat of an excuse, no amount of excuses should be able to save sylvanas from being tormented for her crimes for a few eons. Edit: Also there's the draught in ardenwield effecting old gods and loa alike.

@Sylvos Salazar In the first afterlives we see arthas' soul be thrown in the Maw. I watch lots of lore channels and speculation channels and none have brought that up. It's not hinted at at all, and Arthas' soul being in the maw debunks it anyway.

A tonne of big lore characters are in the different zones but haven't been/won't be found in the actual zones because they're not important to the story rn. The Valkyr worked for the Jailer, because the helm of Domination was part of the jailers power. I don't think Arthas will be in sylvanas' body, I'm unsure if that'd be good story telling. We'll have to wait and see. TL;DR it's not because he hasn't been found yet that he's not there
@Sylvos Salazar it does make sense, but there are a few plot holes with this: 1- why didnt sylvanas (Arthas) kill vereesa and alleria in three sisters comic? 2- why did sylvanas (Arthas) do the valkyr ritual for nathanos? it was hinted that she did it because she loved him. Also only sylvanas would know about nathanos's cousin since that was before she died in the third war UNLESS Arthas also inherited her memories. 3- In the Shadowlands cinematic, Sylvanas is shown to be very skilled with the bow. I dont know how it could be Arthas since he does not use a bow. 4- Why would Arthas decide to burn Teldrassil specifically? if its to send souls to the shadowlands then any city would do, why specifically Teldrassil? and why exactly when Delarynn was dying that he decided to do that since originally it was only going to be captured. overall i really like this theory and it kinda does make sense if not for those plot holes. Tbh it looks like blizz just thought about it xD

What I have heard from Shadowlands music, and played in the Beta, I am intrigued and interested to see where the story goes, but if it ends with anything else than Sylvanas' death, it's going to be the worst expansion of them all.

Heart of the Nexus if this represents Sylvanas then it maybe should incorporate some of her past themes. I don’t expect Sylvanas to sound so somber and defeated. I expect our Dark Lady to rage against death and darkness. Her music should be less melancholic and muted. She’s our Banshee Queen and the music should wail against our ears and haunt our souls. This doesn’t sound like a song I expect to be associated with her, but I suppose it’s somber.
Escalusia I do know the themes of Sylvanas, but we can’t just agree to whatever music they put out there then say, “That’s Sylvanas.” Her music should go from soft to loud to angry than somber representing the grief and hatred that defines her. @MoonH I think it possible you are misinterpreting the title of this music track. It does not say the free will "of" sylvanas. It does not say free will "for" sylvanas. For all we know....this could just be the music played because Sylvanas is constantly trying to challenge and defeat the Free Will of one or more people captured in the Maw for her master. A little bit of spoilers...from the shadowlands beta so far we know that Thrall and Jaina eventually get saved by us from where we left off at the intro scenario for shadowlands. But not Anduin. So it is entirely possible that she spends all her time while we are leveling up.... torturing and taunting Anduin trying to get him to abandon his free will. And since Anduin has been primed to learn all the tough lessons from cataclysm to pandaria to his vanguard in wod to his depression and catharsis and resolve in legion...to his ineptitude and groveling in BfA..... it is entirely possible that he resists that torture and taunting.
As for Sylvanas... there is no redemption for her. Nothing she does will excuse or explain the bad writing for her since cataclysm until now.
that victory music at 10:35 isn't promising to those who want Sylvanas dead as a raid boss, I love it. can't wait to see your faces when Sylvanas pull the Kerrigan card XD, for the dark lady ^^

Thats obvious. Doesnt change the fact she needs to be axed. Arathi, Teldrassil, Lorderon, Proudmoores and Baines Torture, Thralls assassination attempt, the abduction and torment of key figures in the Maw. Either one of those deserves a tormented sentence to be tortured in the Maw. As much as a fan of Arthas I am, his redemption wouldn't have been as enticing an idea if he didn't pay for his pride and actions. Though while he had somewhat of an excuse, no amount of excuses should be able to save sylvanas from being tormented for her crimes for a few eons.
Edit: Also there's the draught in ardenwield effecting old gods and loa alike.

Teldrassil- innocent bystanders and children and ecologists and the like, burned. They were qt peace during that time and had a ceasefire. Ye.... plus using plague itself. @Sylvos Salazar In the first afterlives we see arthas' soul be thrown in the Maw. I watch lots of lore channels and speculation channels and none have brought that up. It's not hinted at at all, and Arthas' soul being in the maw debunks it anyway.
@Sylvos Salazar Garrosh is in Revendreth but also isn't datamined yet. A tonne of big lore characters are in the different zones but haven't been/won't be found in the actual zones because they're not important to the story rn. The Valkyr worked for the Jailer, because the helm of Domination was part of the jailers power. I don't think Arthas will be in sylvanas' body, I'm unsure if that'd be good story telling. We'll have to wait and see.
TL;DR it's not because he hasn't been found yet that he's not there
@Sylvos Salazar it does make sense, but there are a few plot holes with this:
1- why didnt sylvanas (Arthas) kill vereesa and alleria in three sisters comic?
2- why did sylvanas (Arthas) do the valkyr ritual for nathanos? it was hinted that she did it because she loved him. Also only sylvanas would know about nathanos's cousin since that was before she died in the third war UNLESS Arthas also inherited her memories.
3- In the Shadowlands cinematic, Sylvanas is shown to be very skilled with the bow. I dont know how it could be Arthas since he does not use a bow.
4- Why would Arthas decide to burn Teldrassil specifically? if its to send souls to the shadowlands then any city would do, why specifically Teldrassil? and why exactly when Delarynn was dying that he decided to do that since originally it was only going to be captured.
overall i really like this theory and it kinda does make sense if not for those plot holes. Tbh it looks like blizz just thought about it xD

There's a little difference between Alliance of Lordaeron and Great Alliance, aka Old and New Alliance. Like akso in case of da Horde.

There is nothing for Sylvanas but death. Nothing can defend her actions. I can't wait to finally kill her off and never see her plot-armored ass again. Vitriol aside, the music is very good! What I have heard from Shadowlands music, and played in the Beta, I am intrigued and interested to see where the story goes, but if it ends with anything else than Sylvanas' death, it's going to be the worst expansion of them all.

This sounds so muted for the dark lady. I expect her theme to be similar to "Lament of the Highborne." This just sounds generic. How does this represent Sylvanas?

i disagree it sounds tragic and somber like a fleeting soul looking for peace and lashing out and sometimes even slightly hopeful. Seems pretty fitting.

Heart of the Nexus if this represents Sylvanas then it maybe should incorporate some of her past themes. I don’t expect Sylvanas to sound so somber and defeated. I expect our Dark Lady to rage against death and darkness. Her music should be less melancholic and muted. She’s our Banshee Queen and the music should wail against our ears and haunt our souls. This doesn’t sound like a song I expect to be associated with her, but I suppose it’s somber.
Escalusia I do know the themes of Sylvanas, but we can’t just agree to whatever music they put out there then say, “That’s Sylvanas.” Her music should go from soft to loud to angry than somber representing the grief and hatred that defines her. She’s a broken woman who I don’t define by just a somber soft tone, but I suppose we each are entitled to our opinions.
