Hi Emilie, just wanted to drop a note to say I enjoy the videos and live streams! I am a 59 yo late comer to the MS Simulator but am building a system right now to be able to learn from your videos. Way back in 1984 I had an IBM PCjr that played MS Simulator very well...for that time...Thanks for producing these, you have a great personality for the channel an the knowledge to help us out. Thanks again! Tim.
Not sure if it has been mentioned before, and I know this is a bit older, but definitely recommend getting a TrackIR head tracker. It makes the experience as close to real next to VR or real flying. It also removes the need to vector the view manually. Thank you for your videos! These have been helpful and enjoyable to watch!
Emily can lead a fleet of corsair aircraft in FS2020, chat technical info on the internet, watch the chat, react & respond to contributions & sip a mug at the same time, whilst stroking a Bond movie cat. That is f*ckin cool 😁
I REALLY need to join next weekends! I just finally picked up the game again - I'll be bringing my VL3 to the party :) I'm so happy you're back up and flying again - condolences to you and your family.
I seriously need to get a new desktop rig so I can purchase the newest MS flightsim and join a flight like this! Just wholesome fun and passion for aviation.👍🏽
Hey Emily. Hope all is well. Good Luck with your upcoming training. When you start back, if you could do live-streams of just you chatting and giving us updates on your training & re-training, etc. that would be great. No need to do flights because you will be so busy. Just like a 15 to 20 minute chat on your progress !! We all root for you, just know that.
Someone has to get you some pedals to go with your HOTAS. And a VR headset for that matter. That's how you really get the full experience in Sims like this.
Hey, I’m FrugalOperation. When I was looking for a place to fly I saw a bunch of green dots flying together.... I didn’t know what it was all about but I wanted to find out. I figured it was someone live streaming but didn’t realize it was someone I subscribed to. I flew along with you guys for the last half hour of the flight. This was super fun. How do we find out about an event like this before it happens?
Strange question maybe? But are their instructors that can or do teach flying in msfs? I know it’s not real life training that you can count for hours or anything but just curious if that’s a thing.
can you fly in africa? visit the animals and some landmarks like lake tanganyika, victoria falls, lake victoria, mt kilimanjaro and Mt kenya. would be a cool flight
Btw if you have Xbox game pass you get the delux edition (what i have) and you get a jet and a couple or other things. You can also download mods like i have a f-15 blue angel(i think I’m not sure)
I imagine you don’t review comments on old vids but I wanted to say 4 things: 1) if I could support you financially, I would (sorry) 2) your happy videos REALLY help me in this sad depressing COVID and negative cultural change time (USA is falling apart before our very eyes) 3) you’re so stunningly beautiful and smart, your videos are a delight 4) watching flight sim vids (especially yours) I’ve learned so much about aviation (yes, I know it’s very superficial, but more than I knew before)
You know Emilie, I don't know if you still run this simulator but if you do, then I noticed a setting in your sim's graphics that is...well, wrong. By correcting it, you would make everything seem far less blurry at long distances. You may not have even noticed it IS blurry, I know I didn't and might never have, but then I got a VR unit. The very first time I tried VR I couldn't NOT see how utterly and hopelessly blurry everything looked at anything past about 15 or 20 metres in front of me. I believe you have this incorrect graphics setting like I did, you have the same tell-tale signs, the wavy white 'auras' around the runway's painted lines that kind of shimmy and shake into focus as you approach them, similar effects around other objects as you fly by at altitude. Distant objects should not look like that, they should be as clear to you as objects in the flight deck appear. I almost didn't bother posting this, ignore it if it is no longer relevant, but I thought about those people who may still be out there the same setting activated and wondering why everything looks so darned blurry all the time. This is for them, too. I'm certain there are many of them out there. Anyway, without further ado here's how to fix it. By the way, I only know how to help you fix this issue if you're using an Nvidia GPU, I can't help AMD users, although I'm sure the process is going to be very similar. - First, right click anywhere on an open space on Windows Desktop - [Only for Windows 11 users] at the bottom of the menu you will see 'Show More Options'. Click that - Select 'Nvidia Control Panel' - Click 'Manage 3D Settings' - Look over to the right, you see 2 tabs, one is Global Settings, one is Game Settings or something similar. Click the 2nd tab, the game settings. - Click 'Add' - Find Microsoft Flight Simulator and select it, click OK until you see only the Game Settings tab again - Find 2 settings down the list right next to one another, both are concerning Texture Filtering, one is Quality, the other is Negative LOD Bias. - Change Texture Filtering Quality to Quality or High Quality. - Change Negative LOD Bias to Clamp - Now, if you had to change either one of those, you will be asked to Apply or Cancel in the bottom right corner of that window. Click Apply - Load the sim - Go into graphics settings and if your hardware has the overhead to handle it, select 6x6 or even 8x8 Super-sampling Now simply load a flight and marvel at how crystal clear everything now looks, especially if you run the sim in VR. I know it was a revelation for me the first time I changed it. Whether it helps Emilie or anyone else reading this, you're welcome.

On the sim it sucks because you can't just hold one brake
