You can make more streaming than in the left seat! Some of the wealthiest RUclipsrs are Streamers. Look at pewds. MrBeast. Millions.
You made me chuckle when you thought the livestream flying was going to be too long ! If you have the time then so do most flight simmers, they will fly allday especially having that much fun.

He was half French Canadian from the Superior/Duluth area. He spoke French but slowly lost it when the family moved to TX.

You should get into combat sims. With that yoke and throttle setup you could definitely do IL2 bombers.

Last time I "played" MS Flight Sim, the terrain was little more than green and brown blocks, with occasional super low resolution buildings, about the only thing that was reasonably accurate were the airports, and that was only the runways. I think the only people who spent that much time on it then were actual pilots. That was 20 years ago or so, not that surprising... This is nice enough to be enjoyable even if, like me, you aren't a pilot.
I've been playing MSFS since the early 1990s and I find the realism of the current one to be a double-edged sword as it tends to raise your expectations. 30 years ago in FS you didn't get upset about seeing cars driving under (instead of on) bridges because there weren't any cars. Now, with everything else seeming so realistic, glitches like that are really annoying - in my opinion of course!
I flew it on an IBM8086 with orange wireframe graphics in the 80's. It was Sublogik flight sim then. Microsoft took it over.
@@julianharvey6584 Orange because that was the color of your monochrome monitor! Plug in a different monitor and it might have been white or green. Things were... different... back then.

What a great channel! Glad I found it. You're lots of fun, Captain. (Full disclosure: ATP, MEL; commercial privileges, SEL & Sea/Rotorcraft. 17,000 + Hrs. PIC). I too slogged through the Regionals -- in the 70s, though. Whole different ballgame back then; no money, broken equipment... you know. Even flew mail in Beech-18s (Weight and balance? Heck, you get the tail up -- she'll fly!) I'm really enjoying seeing how the younger generation of pilots do it.Y'all are so much smarter than we were. Wanna make the houses smaller? Pull back. Bigger? Pull back further. Works every time. Go get 'em, Cap! I'm going to enjoy coming along for the ride.

Hi Pilot Emilie, I enjoy your videos, especially those of your real world flying exploits. I just finished watching your twitch video from Monday with Microsoft. Nicely done, and very informative. You mentioned in that stream that you were looking for a free source for charts. For North America, I highly recommend the free app, FltPlan GO, found on the Apple store. The monthly Airac updates for the app are free. I rarely fly the Dash without it. Stay safe, Emilie, and keep on just being yourself, cuz it absolutely works. Cheers from BC.

@@Pilotemilie The app does. CYLW even has some of the Westjet ops spec procedures. ie, RNAV (RNP)W RWY 16 missed approach and engine out procedure.

It appears the airline industry may be headed back to normal. Not sure if you heard but Delta plans on recalling 1700 pilots by this fall. Of course fall is 6 months away but it's a positive sign for the industry. Best of luck to you and your significant other.
