Thank you Connie. I watched Cats video about 20’years ago and made a lovely scarf. You have given me a great updated reminder of this great technique. Whoever created it is a genius knitter! Inspiring!😊
I have done another one with 39 M instead of 30 M. And I've chosen 2k 2p, so it won't be too loose around the neck after pulling it over th head. This one has a good width for me.
Very good video. It’s all coming back to me, and glad I still have my super long needles.update. I am working on my third möbius cowl. I tried to do a knitted stretchy bindoff on the second one and it would not go over my head, so I had to rip it out and do the crochet technique. Lesson learned.
@@coetiaswearingen7207i would love to see a picture of what your scarf looks like with your method. Because I can't see where that would cause the Mobius to grow out from the middle.
Hi Connie, Thank you for the video. What length cable are you using here? And, what length cable would I need for a larger mobius scarf to drape over my shoulders? Would I just bunch the stitches up? And, last question, how many stitches do you think i would use for a scarf that would drape over ny shouldersThank you, Tara.
Thank you for your interest, Tara. I'm out of town until Monday. I will answer your questions the best I can. I've never knitted a Möbius Wrap that goes around your shoulders. I know you would need a very long needle. I checked to see if there are other tutorials but most of them crochet the Mobius wrap. I would not recommend a wrap as a first project until you're familiar with the scarf version. Personally, if I want a Mobius wrap I would crochet it. It's impossible to try on a knitted one while it's still on the needles. It would be an easy crochet project. 😊
I like the color combination of the yarn that you are using for the cast on moebius. What color and brand is it. Is it still available?❤ I will try this cast on, now that I know what to do with the extra long cord between the needles.
What is the difference with your cast on as opposed to just a normal cast of a number of stiches and have it twisted when you want to link with the beginning?
@@associationdesmorindameriq3288 If you twist a normal cast, the resulting loop will have a full turn (as opposed to the half turn of the Moebius cast), it will have two edges (Moebius has only one) and will only grow in one direction, the cast being the free edge (while in a Moebius loop, the cast is in the middle of the piece).
I'm not sure what you mean by joining. I would recommend you slow down there playback speed and watch the cast on in the beginning carefully. Once you cast on you will be knitting around in a circle from there.
Are you asking about the sizes of the circumference or how wide it high the scarf will be? The circumference depends on the number of stitches you cast on. The more stitches the bigger the circle. It depends on the thickness of the yarn as well. How high it is depends on the number of rows you knit. Does this make sense? I make some scarves more narrow, meaning I knit less rows, when I want them to be more of an accessory.
I totally agree that writing on loose notes is easier! Love your work ❤
Thanks so much! 😊

I know I couldn't have come up with that! I'm glad somebody did!! It's such fun to knit them. They make great gifts, too.
Thanks for showing this mix of maths and knitting. ❤
After seeing your video, I have started one and it promises to turn out amazingly!
I'm so excited that you started one!! I would love to see a picture when you're done ❤️
It is a bit small and just fits over my head. But once on the neck, its nice, smooth and warm.
@@sonjamg9489Yeah!! I'm happy you did it! Getting the size right is a bit of a trial and error sometimes. Congrats!!💕

I'm so glad!! Have fun picking up those needles again 👏🏼
These are beautiful! I don't know if I could make one of these. It looks so complicated. Thank you for the tutorial. ❤
I always learn by doing. Just keep trying until it clicks 😊
Everything so beautiful ❤️❤

Fascinating, This is all new to me. Love-it and will want to try it out for sure! ....just have to buy a loon knitting needle. ; ))

Same to you!
Thank you 🙏
You’re welcome 😊
How many stitches did you cast on for the k1, p1 Moebius please? Thank you for the video.
I cast on 30 stitches. Each stitch consists of needle under cable, yarn over and needle over cable, yarn over.
Do you join at the end like you show knitting the 2 stitches together

I got the yarn at Michael's in North Carolina. I don't have the wrapper anymore, so I can't tell you the brand.

A normal cat on wouldn't give you the ability to have stitches on the cable and needles and be twisted. I know it's hard to explain with words.

I cast on 30
@buxheim thank you
She said 28
@@rodscoones3632thank you for noticing. I should have said I cast on between 28 to 30 stitches. It depends on how loose I want my scarf to be.
