Thank you! Im having the same issue with my 2013 equinox. 22 degrees this morning and all my windows were frozen. Smh. Im pretty sure its the mode actuator as everything else works fine. I checked on amazon and the part is anywhere from $20-$40. Thank you again!
Thank you! As a driveway mechanic, I'm 99% certain this is the problem with my Equinox. I am 100% certain that this is not a job for a driveway mechanic on a -5°F day. Fortunately I know a few good pros like you.
Your video was very helpful in guiding me to locate the Mode actuator. There was no air coming out of the face vents and it continued to blow air from the foot. I guess where the actuator died. After removing, I tested it and it wouldn't move. I plugged in the new one and it was functioning as normal. Thanks for the detailed video.
Also you can take off the piece of metal that the computer box sits on, It's only 3 10mm bolts, you can do it without taking off this piece, but if you do take it off you will have a clear area of space to easily access the actuator and all the bolts to it easily.
Okay, thank you for your assistance. i did what you did, and now my backup camera and the interior lights and backup lights don't work. Did i do something wrong ❓️Please help me
Très bonnes informations mais il faut aussi enlever la plaque su laquelle est fixé le module wifi. Je viens de changer l'actuateur et c'est plus simple si vous enlevez cette plaque!
Blend door actuator and mode door actuator is the same part? Cause im replace the blend door and dont work so now after watched your video i will try replace door mode actuator but i cant find specific just blend door actuator please help and congrats for your video

You have to let the car computer calibrate the new actuator once you installed it. Once you install it correctly, connect the power wire to the actuator, turn on ignition and set on AUTO if you have that option otherwise just leave the AC controls as is or turn it off. Then disconnect negative battery couple for at least 1 minute, I waited a few minutes, connect it back and turn on ignition or start the car and turn on AC. Then check all the modes and make sure it's blowing out of each one how it's supposed too. For me, the Windshield defrost was blowing half on windshield and half on foot vent and I wasted like 6 hours laying in pain trying to figure out how to get the actuator to move all the way back and then I found out you just calibrate it by disconnecting the battery and the car computer aligns it correctly so the actuator spin rotor spins the correct amount of rotation to the plastic gear that spins the cam actuators by itself...
Unfortunately, I did not get how to unscrew those metal clips from wi fif module? Did you from left side? What tolls I will need? Thanks in advance. I'm going to work some magic on this Wi-Fi module :)
If ur going to go so far in depth as to clips and showing the motor working when it's not installed etc it would be more helpful to let people know the process of getting to it better as in it has this many 7mm screws etc. Pretty common and easy swap out to replace either of the actuators. If it's not switching modes like floor, vent and defrost replace the drivers side actuator. If the temp isn't changing from color to warm or hot then change the passenger side actuator.
Hey Ralf, had to do this same replacement for my son's Equinox. It sure is a back breaker but I got it done. Good job.
Good deal. Not easy, especially when you older
Do yall know the part number for that mode door actuator. I've been looking and I'm not sure if I'm finding the correct one.

I have a 2007 Equinox, is the actuator in the same spot?

Thanks Ralf. This is a great help.
Thanks for this walk-through. Very helpful!

This is an informative video, the screws in mine were 1/4 with phillips either or

Appears that yes you did something. Actuator has nothing to do with your symptoms
Love the explanation overall... 😊
How do you know that the gears are lined up correctly. Thankyou Sir. Appreciate you.
Don't know how to explain that I just know my position.

What are you talking about?? Calibration is done with the scan tool!
@@ralfsautomotive I mean for people who are doing it themselves and don't have the scan tool

Would that be the same part that would prevent it from going hot to cold. Even if the actuator still works.
Other side, passenger. Hot to Cold is the blend Door actuator.
Hey ralf i remplace one of This today but i cant get to blow in the front it always blow to botton what should i check next
You will need a scan tool that can monitor movement.
Isnt it on the passenger side ? Im looking for heat acctuator. The other videos say passenger side.

I see you are one of the Parts changers.
How long did this job take everyone who tackled it themselves?
If you are young and flexible about an hour
Thanks!
I take 3 hours😢
My dealership quoted me 6 hrs labor to do this job at over 1k. insanity
Yes it is. On the other hand, man has got to eat, nah, just kidding
