    ahhh. It's that wonderful time of the year when it starts to get warmer out, so I start binge watching random cedar point videos to hype myself up.

    5:47 For those who don't know, this means that Magnum has set up, or has stacked all three trains if it completely stops at this brake run. Magnum was built in 1989, and during this time, roller coasters were built so they had super quick operations, and were built to "not stack." This section of brakes is the safety brakes, or the B block, and a train can stop here in case of an emergency. But the whole point was that the train didn't need to stop here because of the time that it was built, where the operations were super quick and simplified. If the train stacks all three trains in the station, C block, and the B block, then the ride has to shut down, and the train on the B block has to be manually released by an operator in the station. The trains all stack because the crew wasn't able to dispatch the next train before a certain time for the train in the C block to clear fast enough. Crews have only 35 seconds to dispatch the next train, once the train parks in the station, or else the train stacks on the B block and shuts the ride down. In 2014, S&S reprogrammed the ride so that the B block can be manually released by an attendant at the back of the station with a panel, instead of going to that brake run to release the train when needed.

      It’s the best quality of air at cp. like steVe has more air but magnums air feels more extreme. Like you don’t feel like your gonna be effected off the ride on steVe. Subconsciously you can’t help but it question the lap bars on magnum.

    this is a fantastic hypercoaster with a bunch of airtime! No wonder this makes the top 10 in roller coasters every year :) Cedar Point has done it again!

    MF and Magnum are both super awesome in their own ways! I love MF for its giant tall drop and speed. I love Magnum for its intensity and ejector air. Its cool how CP has a little of eveything. and coasters that each give different types of thrills.

    I've never understood why people "rack up credits" on coasters that have 20 clones or are historically insignificant kiddie coasters.
    But Magnum is definitely a coaster worth riding, from both a historical and a thrill perspective.

    I was extremely nervous when I was waiting in line because that looked like a steep drop. But I took my chances and rode it and I had a blast. It gets pretty scary when the lift gets higher and higher. When the train went down the slope I closed my eyes and barely felt it. It was fast out of control, some guys shouted "HOLY SHIT!" and I loved the 2 hills at 5:01 cause they felt like I was gonna fly out of my seat. I wish I rode it a second time though

      Pffffft. This was the first major ride, let alone coaster i ever went on, and that was back in 1993 when i was 9...and this behemoth still had the record as the tallest out there. Needless to say, my parents bought the picture they take at the top........2 hour wait, literally one of the few timesin life ihave been scared shitless. Now i ride a harley, am a firefighter, used to train and break in unbroken horses, snowmibile, 4 wheel. And try to hit cedar point up every year, plus going to geagua lake at least 8 times while it was open...i think this being my 1st real ride triggered something in me

      I can assume that if the brake section right behind the station is not clear, it will completely stop a train at that first brake run to prevent a collision. In other words, if one train is on the lift and the other one is in the station, it will slow the train without stopping it and allow it to go to the next brake section.

    • @centralfloridaenthusiast7254
      @centralfloridaenthusiast7254 4 года назад +2

      Actually this is what we call a c set. The ride was not designed to stack (having multiple trains waiting to enter the station). You have the station block, a block(the lift hill), b block (the actual ride from the top of the lift to the end of that brake run) and c block. You can park a train in the c block no problem and if your only running two trains this is no issue. But if your running 3 trains and you don’t dispatch a train faster than 35 second after the train crest the lift the next train will stop on those break and before 2014 it basically treated as downtime cause a ride op would have to leave the station and walk over the the this safety breaks and manually release the train. Now they have a panel in the station that can do this but it is still something they have to mark as downtime I believe.
