So informative!! Thanks so much! I need to find out my porosity! My hair has changed so much lately! As soon as it gets wet, it almost “seizes” up and becomes so hard to deal with! The only products I’ve found that seem to quell my tangled mess are these 3 products…. (Which I’m trying to break down and figure out what it is in each product that helps to make my hair manageable!) 1. Garnier Fructis coconut conditioner (the brown bottle) 2. Miss Jessies Leave In Condish 3. Bed Head Foxy Curls Contour Cream (round purple and green bottle-this stuff is literally magic to my hair) I have tried SO many products-high and, low end, mid-grade…. And recently I realized whatever is in products like these… my hair is dying for! My hair loves products with slip as well!
My hair loves protein and like you I had a hard time at first. I’ve been using the Boucleme protein booster when I need a little boost. If it’s not enough then I use the Botanika Hair Mender. Followed with the Boucleme deep conditioner. Great video. Full of information. Edited to add: I also use the JSL essentials protein leave in. It’s amazing as well.
That is so interesting that Protein helps your hair hold onto moisture. I didn’t know that! I was wondering with your fine hair if you use your regular conditioner on the days you clarify? Or should you use a more moisturizing conditioner? I hav fine hair like you
HaHa...I should watch this to see what you won't buy in order to find out what I should! I have low porosity hair and my hair doesn't like too much protein. Actually, since becoming a curly girl (I thought my fine, medium density, "straight" hair was my truth, LOL), I've discovered all sorts of things about my hair...it doesn't like a whole lot of stuff!
Low porosity hair is very picky about protein. Glad you're learning more about your hair. It makes a big difference to have an idea of what your hair needs.

Thanks for sharing. Boucleme just sent me a few of their products to try out and I'm excited to see how they work for me.
@@HolisticEnchilada great! I love them!😍

I just use my regular conditioner.
thank you! Is an agar-agar treatment also a protein treatment? I heard of it as a vegan alternative for gelatin.
I am actually not sure about this one. I have not looked into it.
What are your thoughts about The Mender by Botanika and as a diy rice water treatments?
Oh I forgot about that products! It's good. Rice water treatments are good too but they're not protein treatments.
