    Thank you for a great video. Not really my sort of thing, just too large and expensive, but it does give ideas on how to adapt other kit.
    As for ideas for future videos, how about the other end of the scale and how small and packable a stove/cook system is practical?
    Be well.

    I've had a Cadac Safari for over 5 or 6 years probably and have used it over different heat sources like 4.5kg gas cook tops and smaller 1lb gas canister cook tops. I have an adapter which i purchased from Aliexpress and can use 3 different gas canisters. I have a flange which fits on it and makes it into a large oven with the pot as the lid, fits perfect. Then because of the height I can have a shelf so have two cooking levels. I've cooked beer can chicken this way. Roast beef and veggies. Also cooked untold amounts of pizzas without having the pizza stone. Also baked cheesecakes, apple crumbles and the list just goes on. I have it permanently set up outside on my patio and the wife uses it regularly with a large frying pan to cook whole fish. I'm only limited by my own imagination. I can cook anything that can be cooked in my oven and hot plates. A very versatile piece of gear. Well worth the money I paid for it.

    Actually the HP is more flexible. There is an Adapter to use it with big gas bottles. In contrast to the LP version you can screw catridges directly on the cadac not needing a hose. Great review. Keep it on 👍

      Thanks for the comment and view. I love this bit of kit because not only can I cook on the tailgate of my truck but I can also take it down to the water front for the BBQ. I’m sure which ever one you go for you will be happy with it. Not normally my kind of review but glad I done it, sure was nice having a wee cooked number outside. I’ve also since used the pizza plate with great results.

    Nice bit of kit stix, and now very hungry looking at that breakfast 😋. Ok so not going to fit in the average bug out bag or even 72 hour kit, but for group camp trips where fires are prohibited or if your vehicle mounted and weight not a problem definitely worth investing in. As for learning , I believe we learn something new everyday and that includes survival skills and learning about new bits of kit etc. That's what makes channels like yours so great, give us a discussion platform to share tips, skills and ideas. Look forwards to watching your Airborne Bergen vid next. Cheers stix, stay safe mate

    Thanks for the product and cooking demo. Watching some of the other Cadac cooking videos on RUclips, it appeared to me that the unit cooked unevenly-some blackened food in spots some not-both grilled goods and pancakes for example. Could you elaborate a bit on even heating and how fine the flame can be adjusted-from simmer to grilling temp. Thanks so much!

    • @STIXSURVIVAL
      @STIXSURVIVAL  2 года назад +1

      Hi there and thanks for watching. I’d say the plate gets really hot very quickly so requires constant watching, especially with delicate things. I’ve learned to keep it on a small flame and leave things a bit longer. My first pizza could have passed for a tyre but now almost perfect every time. If your planning on cooking at the cadac it’s no issues once you get use to it. Also try to keep it level so the fats don’t run to one side and leave the plate dry at the other. It’s like a lot of stoves practice makes perfect. Hope this helps.

      Hi there if you have the low pressure gas cadac which works with the big camping gas cylinders you can buy this adapter to convert it so you can use the high pressure gas canisters. I think that was what you were asking

      Yes mate, I have a video on RUclips called truck camping in Scotland. I have a pizza here even though it went for a walk, think about the 30 minute mark 😂 Yes, pizza, has been done many times now, best to heat the plate and then let cool a bit or it may burn the pizza on the bottom. I might do a whole load of cooking videos with it as it’s so much fun. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment

    Weber go anywhere and Cobb charcoal user here 🙂 We are about to get Dometic tent, so thinking of getting a gas burner. In the end, we will go for two burners variant (2 cook 3 turbo probably), but I like the smaller one as well. I have a dilemma between the reviewed one (with legs), and lite variant. How stable are the legs? Because with the table, those might not be needed so much. Also worried about kids throwing it over. Thanks a lot ....

    • @STIXSURVIVAL
      @STIXSURVIVAL  3 месяца назад

      @@PetrKrenzelok Hi there and thanks for watching. The legs are very stable but if the surface is slippery it may be an issue, my friend takes some lengths of pipe and puts the legs in to them, to lift up to waist height so it becomes like a BBQ. This works really well and makes it very stable. On my camping table it can move so if a table is a must might be better with the other burner.

    Could you clarify the gas attachment for me please? For LP, do I need to buy the hose or can you connect the can right to the underside of the unit? I've seen image of both options.

    • @STIXSURVIVAL
      @STIXSURVIVAL  2 года назад +1

      Hi there thanks for watching. Yes for the Low pressure system you will need a gas regulator and hose which runs between the cylinder and the Cadac. It is only the High pressure system that you can attach the screw type canister directly to the unit. The low pressure unit can be converted to use the high pressure canister with the correct adapter. Hope this helps.
