We were about to buy the huge one - after seeing your comments we switched to the smaller dual plate one. It works great and is easy to clean. I love the Cadac quick connector and how easy they are to plug into the caravan.
I understand you totally ! Why hump stuff about you don't like or is simply too cumbersome? For that reason, we delegated our heavy caravan table to the back of the wardrobe in Bedroom 4. Instead - we use a lightweight table from The Range that cost ... £20!
Mijne is going away too. For the reasons you mentioned and a couple more: when the piezoelectric piece gives out a spark, it’s almost never enough to ignite the bbq; the control of the flames is not continuous, very inefficient and jumps from full to minimum. The slightest wind blows the flames out and with the piezzo almost never working, it’s hard to restart the bbq. And it’s a pain to get packed.
Yep, we’ve arrived at exactly the same conclusion as yourselves; after lugging the Cadac 50 around for the last 2 seasons - with very little use - we’ve just upgraded it and our old 2Cook2Pro jointly to the new 2Cook3Pro, as a one-stop solution. It looks as though Camac/Dometic have listened to their customers as the new features on the 3Pro address a lot of the (albeit minor) issues on the 2Pro. The windshield, coffee pot stand and handles for the griddle plates are all excellent additions! Not taking the Cadac50 will free up a fifth of the valuable space in our motorhome’s garage shelving, with a considerable amount of weight saved, too. Love Cadac’s products which always give great service and are excellent value for money!
When my husband was alive we used to lug our heavy cadac on every trip. When he prematurely died of cancer I got rid of the caravan and beautiful canopy and vango awning but I still have the cadac in the garage. I’m now thinking of getting a 2 berth and starting again. That bbq is fab! Loving your channel ❤ Doris the Dometic!?
We have the small cadac safari ( essential in Europe as most sites are 6 amp ) and the air fryer and a hot plate grill absolutely all we need, we have the George Foreman also just in case. As you said weight and space are at a premium in a caravan, admittedly there are only two of us, might be different with a large family.
We are away months at a time in hot Europe so we like all mod cons ( well good wife does ) One of the best things we have is an ice making machine, ice with all cold drinks even if they have been in the outside fridge. We do not have a separate freezer box though, thinking about that one. @@BigWhiteBox
Another great Video! We have been discussing exactly the same thing, but weren’t sure what to replace with? we will now look into the………..Cadac Dometic 2 Cook 3 Pro QR AB CD 123456789 ZX!! 😂 Thanks for review Graham & Claire
You got me scratching my head ere😂 My cadac sits in the caravan in its bags takes 3 mins to put it up and as for cleaning the dual pan the paella pan and frying pan cleans up in minutes mine about 14 years old if it’s not broke don’t fix it
Love the videos you make. We have a George Foreman indoor/outdoor grill. Absolutely love it, he's named George. You probably already have a name for the new grill, but I'll suggest 'Babs' All the best 👍
How about COL the smaller Colin which BTW looks like a far more practical BBQ. We have FRED a Grillo Chef 2 which is smaller than your old Colin. The 3 curved legs are stored in the front locker which has the "same curve" so fits in front of the 2 gas bottles taking up no space , The grille together with its plancher , pizza stone and piezo ignitor all go in the dedicated Cadc bag in the SUV and the 5m gas pipe (so we can have the BBQ on any side of the caravan) also goes in the front locker coiled around one of the gas bottles. If you have got to clean the grille at the caravan you could use kitchen roll to get most of the grease of first (used to use wipes but not now due to not being enviromentally friendly) and we now also have the option to use the outside shower hose connector to wash it. Bit of a oversight by Cadac re Colins bag Thumbs up for another well presented and informative video.👍
Nice review Guys 👍 we’ve only had our cadac for a couple of years and find it ok. It fits inside our caravan in its box ( at the moment). I think Gary the grill has a good ring to it ( yes you are mad btw 😂).
Now that's a nice coincidence to watch your video b/c I have been a user for over 4 years of the predecessor of that Cook 2 something. And, to me, this is not a proper BBQ but rather a fancy pan. So, for this reason, I'm going to get (haha, yes, you're certainly guessing it) the Carri Chef 2. Like, I am making the move in the opposite direction. But actually, I will keep both appliances, as we do love cooking outdoors. I'm not sure yet if this is really sensical, though, as the Carri Chef also comes with the ability to put a cooking pot on, innit? Anyhow, have a great time, cheers!
🇺🇦 Great vlog. Not used our cadac for a while. Afraid it's the teppanyaki. I think the new family member should start with a C as well, so how about Carol to replace Collin.🤔 Stay safe guys. Pete and Su
We have bought a contact grill tefal optigrill. It's electric connects to Bluetooth and BBQs everything automatically. I use it at home as well. Perfect results from chicken, steaks, sausages and fish. It's compact and very simple to clean. Wind is never an issue. 🙂
Having bought our Teppanyaki we are now in the market for a Cobb bbq as well. Our friends have one and used it on a recent trip. It’s absolutely amazing, I had never heard of it but they have been around for years.
We have the Grillo chef 40 and use BBQ grill mats, makes cleaning so much easier. The new BBQ looks good but now you have to have 2nd table just for that :(
Neither of your BBQs are proper BBQs, their just outside frying pans. You need a proper BBQ like the Char Broil x200 Grill 2 Go, Close to perfection each time!!
Best barbecue for 2 people, clean, compact, heats in 3 mins, A Lotus Grill. Using very small amounts of lump wood charcoal and a small inbuilt fan. It is great, can even cook in awning. No smoke and no waste charcoal. Gas barbecue is not proper barbecueing.
I think your downgrade is perfect for your limited cooking skills , the Cadac is much more versitile for more expansive cooking , you can’t cook a roast on Sheila , no stir fry (too small ) no guest cooking , no large flat breads .I’ve eve cooked a loaf in my Cadac if that suits you fine ,washing up really a problem ? Just stick the Cadac on max for ten then wipe it down , and if you put it away properly doesn’t take up much more room , each to there own 😊
We were about to buy the huge one - after seeing your comments we switched to the smaller dual plate one. It works great and is easy to clean. I love the Cadac quick connector and how easy they are to plug into the caravan.
Good choice!
i have bought the soak soft soak 2 rubber bowl for the plates, really easy to clean
That's a good idea, I will have a look at them
I understand you totally !

Great blog the name for the new bbq is Barbie easy x
Yes! Thank you!

I feel your pain!

We love ours!

Doris is a good one!
Hi. Did that little 90 degree connector come with your 2 cook pro? I didnt get one with mine. If notncan you please advise where you got it? Thanks.
Yes it came with it
Can it fit the paella dish from the Carri chef 2?

Sounds like you have it all covered!

I’m looking between the one you now have and the slightly smaller ones. Not sure
The best one will be different for everyone, the new one for us suited our needs.
I'm waiting for the new Cadac Carri Chef 40.... Although you've now given me something to think about
Glad I watched this think I will go with your smaller cadac
Good choice!
Will you need a wind shield to stop the flames being blown out?
Are rhe new ones lighter seeing as this one is 10 years old?!
Not sure
Another great Video!

Great video guys. I also off loaded our cadac, overpriced, over weight and a pain to clean.
You got me scratching my head ere😂

It might be all the kids stuff we take that is the issue!
Hi there you two, very sad for Colin. Enjoyed video, very enlightening.
Why don’t you use the cooker in that mahoosive caravan that’ll save you any extra weight at all ?
It's good to be outside...when the weather is kind!
Good video.
Love the videos you make. We have a George Foreman indoor/outdoor grill. Absolutely love it, he's named George.
You probably already have a name for the new grill, but I'll suggest 'Babs'
All the best 👍
Thank you, Babs is a good suggestion!
How about colleen? Like colin but a bit leaner 😊
How about COL the smaller Colin which BTW looks like a far more practical BBQ.

Thumbs up for another well presented and informative video.👍
I thought you were going to have got an electric tepanyaki hot plate like a lot of folks seem to have these days.
No not for us, have to keep it gas!
Might be more compact but you still need a table to put it on
We already had the table and also use it for drinks so worked out fine for us
Caz for the name , looks good 👍
Nice review Guys 👍 we’ve only had our cadac for a couple of years and find it ok. It fits inside our caravan in its box ( at the moment).

You selling your old one?
Already sold!

The Carri Chef 2 worked well for us, we used it at home and in the caravan, but for us space was the issues, if you can have both you are winning!
🇺🇦
Great vlog.
Not used our cadac for a while. Afraid it's the teppanyaki.

Bluetooth BBQ! it's the future! thanks for watching
Thanks for this, helps us make up our minds what to get ❤
You are so welcome!
Having bought our Teppanyaki we are now in the market for a Cobb bbq as well. Our friends have one and used it on a recent trip. It’s absolutely amazing, I had never heard of it but they have been around for years.
Haha, it's actually bigger than you had before, because you now need a table as well. Lol
We have the Grillo chef 40 and use BBQ grill mats, makes cleaning so much easier. The new BBQ looks good but now you have to have 2nd table just for that :(
Barbie the BBQ
Good suggestion!
Why not use electric grill your using hook up
I prefer cooking with gas
Neither of your BBQs are proper BBQs, their just outside frying pans. You need a proper BBQ like the Char Broil x200 Grill 2 Go, Close to perfection each time!!
Thanks for the tips!
Great vlog. But Teppanaky all the way. Same idea...
Barby it is ❤
Good suggestion!
Beryl the BBQ, nuff said ;)
Great video as always. However why not buy a
smaller type Colin 😊

You don't need to clean it. It all burns off while it heats up.
Thanks for the tip
Barbara, the barbecue
You could go all Star Wars style and call it 2C3P…oh?
Barbara the bbq👍
Can't hear the dialogue over the music.
Call it Coleen 😅
Good suggestion!
Barbie the bbq ?
Barbie the bbq lol
Hi it might have been mentioned before , but as the bbq is female how about barbie
Call it Bear..............Bear Grills (Grylls)
I think your downgrade is perfect for your limited cooking skills , the Cadac is much more versitile for more expansive cooking , you can’t cook a roast on Sheila , no stir fry (too small ) no guest cooking , no large flat breads .I’ve eve cooked a loaf in my Cadac if that suits you fine ,washing up really a problem ? Thanks Philip for the vote of confidence on my culinary skills!
It’s got to be BETTY BOO
Bare Grills 🙂
Coleen
Good suggestion!
From Colin to Coleen
So why not use an electric teriyaki, and use the site electric rather than your own gas?
I prefer the heat control of gas, I find the electric plates are too slow to react when it all starts going wrong! Could be my cooking!
Bernie the bbq
I know I’m probably a little late to the party, but surely she’s called Barbara Q?
Good suggestion!
Yes 100% 😂
Little bert the bbq
Cherry
Good suggestion
Colette or Colleen as it’s smaller than Colin and Female 😂
Collette. End of.
