This is beyond coincidence! I am an Asian. My grandfather also was a great chef. Even my father is a chef but he wants me to be an engineer. So now I m in college and doing mechanical engineering though this is not my passion! Food was, is and always will be my 1st priority! May be one day I can pursue my dream like Eric! May be one day...
The Bible says in John 3:16-36 that whoever believes in the Lord Jesus Christ shall not perish but have everlasting life, the Bible also says in Romans 10:9 that those who declare with their mouth that Jesus Christ is their God, Lord, and Savior they shall be saved. Revelation 1:8 says that Jesus is the alpha and the omega. Luke and revelation is the ending times, and Jesus is returning back. So are you going to submit your life to him or no? Narrow is the path that leads to the gates of heaven, but only few people find it. The gates that is the path to destruction is where many people find it! Jesus loves you SO MUCH! That he died on the cross, and was resurrected from the dead 3 days later to give us eternal life…!!!
I'm a Chemical Engineer and I dreamt of joining Master Chef Asia before I graduated from university but I was too young back then and had no passport yet. Now after working in the Engineering field for 4 years, I'm at the point in my life where I don't want to work as an Engineer anymore. I want to chase my passion for food specifically baking and become a Pastry Chef. I'll update here if I choose that path probably by 2023. Wish me all the best. Thanks!
Veronica Vides you obviously know nothing about different chefs around the world, there’s actually a good chance the best chef we don’t even know about.
This morning I was pondering if should really pursue cooking as career, I ask for a sign and BOOM!, this was suddenly on my recommendations when I was scrolling through RUclips.
I swear Eric is like my inspiration to want to be a chef I really want to be a chef because of him I might not become him but it’s a dream in the back of my head I one day hope to be
I wanted to be a chef because of my huge passion for food, i knew how to cook ever since i was a kid and loved experimenting different food. However, my dad told me its too hard for me and probably i just got influenced or smth. now, im study designing which is still amazing and smth i also love, but I can’t compare it with my passion for cooking. anyways, cooking will continue to be one of my hobbies and hopefully i can do a lot more!
I'm 25 and I would like to pursue a career in the culinary world but as Eric says it can be risky to which I agree. I even have the same idea of winning the lottery in order to do so so I can afford to possibly fail but thats just wishful thinking. I graduated with a Criminal Justice degree and currently work in that field but I'm unhappy because I'm not as passionate as I was during my time in school. Now I feel like it is too late for me to make the change.
lolblehXD it's never to late. I did my bachelors in Accounting and now I am unhappy I'll be joining culinary school at 22 but that's all right atleast I'll be doing something I love.
You and me both. Like you, I also wanted a career in the culinary arts but I feel like it's a very demanding job with low pay. I'm happy Eric made it. He took the risk and worked hard.
unfortunately this is how asian parents are, I was on the lucky side since my parents are not pushy about my career and they don't say much but I can clearly see that they want me to become a doctor. Even though I wanna be a doctor it's still hard cuz they expect me to become a doctor without my consent in the first place (for example, when I became pretty much fluent in english I decided to go somewhere with english education but my mom is still says that I should go study in germany instead which I don't want to because I can't really speak german even with 3 years of learning). Like I said I am on the lucky side, lots of parents compare their children to others and saying things like "Why do you want to be an artist, look at your cousin, he studied hard and got into medical school and he will earn a lot more than you!" duh do you he will actually enjoy being a doctor, because he is going to suffer. What is more frustrating than this is they are not doctors or engineers. They don't know the suffering but they still want their child to suffer and just look at the result of all those years. and that's my TEDx talk thank you for reading
If u just stood at one spot on the stage the whole time that would’ve been awkward. I think it’s better that he walk around especially since the stage is so big.
It is probably a natural moment for him as a chef, although the side steps are more intense when in the kitchen. I can really see his passion for the subject from his body language. P.S. My favourite fast side stepping energetic chef is Gordon Ramsay :)
Before winning MCC :- 😞
After winning MCC:- 😁
true
Mcc = Minecraft Championships (it’s a joke)
Good 1
He wasn't sad. It was just his nervous look
@Captain Raven that's emoji represents sadness tho
"I chose engineering because I absolutely hate biology". I'm on Eric's side.
I am literally doing the same thing xD

So howd it go?
Hey, any update?
2:17 he said that as a Asian there 3 options become a engineer a doctor or get whacked on MasterChef audition
Eric's parents should be proud of him. His food is acclaimed not by random dudes on the side walks, but by world class top chefs
They do especially once when you see season 1 finale
Hes smiling ☺️♥️
He seemed really nervous, but I'm glad he went of of his comfort zone.
He cooks the best as well as making the presence, i admired him so much since Masterchef Canada season 1
I saw him from ep 1 to finale..his journey was amazing...until he became winner
Wait? So his journey was amazing until he won? How does that make sense
@@Xj6245because the journey ended at least in masterchef
Your story is so powerful and inspiring 🎉 I’m a fan and will always be here cheering you on the sideline
Eric is the best chef in the world!!!!!

Glad to see an iconoclast
Everybody in the comments section had literally the same story ... like fr
Imo, its because typical asian families really do this. Im asian and Im taking engineering even if I don't want it. 😅
Inspirational man Chem Eng myself very interesting!!!!
Did he really go on a Ted talk i-
I want to be an engineer
As a Asian as well who loves chemistry, I relate except for the cooking part but thats a hobby
I love the smell of durian!!
Chemical Engineering Student, or, Chemical Engineer-in-Training. Not a Chemical Engineer.
Some college like mine includes a certificate from the government that you are a an egible engineer at graduation so yeah he is an engineer

Great talk but Don’t move around so much when u are talking.
Wakakakaka Happy I think hes nervous we asians walk like that when were nervous xD
You kinda have to in order to keep an audience engaged.
If u just stood at one spot on the stage the whole time that would’ve been awkward. I think it’s better that he walk around especially since the stage is so big.
Walk too much from left to right, make me dizzy
I mean if u standing there like a dumbhead some people gonna think u have a problem and also its awkward
