London Bridge Trading Inc. Day Backpack 8005A: Everyday Carry Hype Vs. Reality

- Thanks for watching.. In this video I share with you the London Bridge Trading Day Pack. I have wanted to purchase this pack for a long time but once I got it in my hands I was disappointed. The pack has an excellent design with good color options however the build quality is lacking. No frame sheet, No laptop compartment and I think it's a bit overpriced for what it is. IMHO

Wasn’t even expecting this good of a review on a simple ass backpack. Thanks!!💪🏽
Recently fell into a tactical bag rabbit hole. Was eyeing this bag. Thank you for always keeping real George, I am going to pass on this bag as well!
Thanks George. I appreciate the critical eye and honest review. Dig your reviews. Keep em coming.
Love your reviews, George -> always really applicable, with honest critiques, good feedback on pros/cons.
Also, your video and sound production is excellent -> lighting and close-ups are done well and the audio is super clear.
Keep up the great work!
Thanks Chris! I got a new camera coming Monday 😁!! Appreciate your support.. See ya ✌🏾
Good review, I appreciate your honesty & realness.
Was looking for reviews on a bigger LBT bag and stumbled on this one, but you reviewed it well. Subscribed.
Thanks for the sub!
Have this bag in Wolf Gray.
You nailed this review.
The shoulder straps are ridiculous for what you can carry.
Awesome review! Thank you for your honesty. Fwiw, LA Police Gear has a very similar bag for $18 -- the Commuter pack -- (plus something like $8 shipping).
Thanks for the suggestion! I love value EDC gear.. and LAPG makes some under valued items.. See ya ✌🏾
Love the honest review 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thanks for watching Jose.. Be safe ✌🏾
Thank you for the review. I really appreciate it
Hey Tim No problem! Thanks for watching.. See ya ✌🏾
Great review and rationale, George! Keep it going!
Hey george, this review depicts exactly why it was worth waiting for the V2 (8006A). Also this back panel is designed to be worn over plate carriers so they havent included padding on the back on purpose. Also LBT will include those quick release buckles on all their packs because it is required to have govt contracts. Its a politic established in the same fashion as berry compliance if you will.
Great video!
Love to see a hometown DC RUclipsr! Great review.
Yep.. Trying to put DMV on the map.. I'm done with Canadian RUclipsrs.. See ya ✌🏾
So if you go to the LBT website and go to the 14L Day Pack “Low Vis” version it states it is made of 400D Pac Cloth. I would bet both versions use the same fabric, the only change I can see is the removal of the Velcro field (and the low vis one water bottle pockets are always black).
George nailed it, not too many bags this size with water bottle pockets, ESPECIALLY in this style.
Great review....I always check with you before grabbing a new pack I don't need.
Thanks for the thorough review. I've been a big fan of the look of this pack for a while but the negative points are consistent among other reviews. I hope LBT can make some improvements on it, I would be very interested in buying if so.
Glad it was helpful!
I purchased the same bag, same color. However the version I have has a stiffer frame sheet. I use this bag almost exclusively to go to theme parks… Believe it or not. And it performs flawlessly. It’s large enough and strong enough to carry all the water and gear for myself and my family for the day and it distributes the weight really well. Yet it keeps a nice slim profile to my back and allows me to move within the crowd of people without being overly obtrusive. I will say that some of the straps and materials are a little harsh and if you’re wearing a short sleeve shirt with the bag some of the straps can have sharp edges so just be aware of that. All in all for what I use the bag for specifically it’s a home run. Just my personal experience here. Thanks for another great review George!
Great honest video. I just received one. My older North Face Recon at $90 bucks is hands down a way better pack in every way. This LBT will definitely fill the light duty gym bag chores.
I love the color options and look, but the lack of any organization kills it for me. Thanks for saving me the cash on buying one and being dissapointed. Keep on doing you, king!
I appreciate your time and thoughts on the bags im hoping to find one but haven't found one that speaks to me. Keep it up 👍
Thanks for watching Bearded Dad.. It's hard to find the perfect pack but we will keep looking.. See ya ✌🏾
Appreciate the honest review, even when a pack is "nah".
Keep grinding
Once I get a big backpack signing deal all my honesty goes out the window for 💵..lol Thanks for watching! See ya ✌🏾
I’m not gonna lie, I couldn’t get the hype out of my mind. I nabbed one in Black/Woodland because it looks cool as hell with a patch. The materials dont crease and flex as easy on my black one like they did your mas grey one, I was actually worried since yours looks like a shopping tote basically the way it moves and bends. But this stuff feels sturdy. It ain’t 1000D for sure but I feel good about it. Maybe the color way has a big effect. Your reviews are awesome man, good detail and they help me make a decision.
I'm glad you like man.. the design on the pack is awesome.. Be Safe ✌🏾
Dope review
I'm enjoying my Ogio Convoy 320 20L. Mostly dump pockets and essentially no organization but great for light carry, gym and awesome bottle holders. Retails for $100 or less.
That's a nice pack! They have stepped their game up over the last couple of years! See ya
Why do I love this guy
Appreciate the love fam!
In the beginning on this video, I also thought that the place for a velcro patch is way too big sacrificing its look. two external water bottle holder is good. nah for 150 either. expensive but sometimes I like small edc backpack. Thanks for the review today, too. peace!
Thanks for watching and the comment TeleV2.. See ya
Great review yet again! Would love your thoughts on the newer version, the 8006, if you can 👍🏼
5.11 RUSH 12 is the bag I've chosen as my EDC bag. It's marketed at $99 and it's definitely worth the $99. The LBT Day Pack is a $99 bag at best. I think 5.11 could get $133 out of their RUSH 12 bag but I'm happy with the $99 price tag. I just got into Escape From Tarkov and they have the Multicam Black version of this bag in game and I thought I might get the bag to do a review of it to help my Gaming channel grow as well as my Gear Review channel. Your review is the first review I've watched for this bag and I appreciate the honesty. The bag looks "cheap" it has some good features but is not worth the $133 price tag.
Because its made in china...
this bag is nice for a day hike or summit pack once you drop ruck.
Great review! Any chance you can review the 8007 in the near future? Thanks and take care 👊🏼
its not bad for the price. i've had mine for a couple years been holding up well. i dont use it a ton, kinda small
Hay dude, you´re the best backpacker annalist. Nice.
Thanks Gorka! It's about time someone recognized my skillz..lol See ya ✌🏾

I got to save for two years to buy one! How are they? See ya ✌🏾
@@GeorgeDEFINED Got one I'll sell ya. Good condition. Axiom 24 in coyote. Need to off load some gear. Hit me up if you're interested.
bundeswehr rucksack 30,- euro. best backpack
full of features, rainproof, multiple hidden pockets, indestructible lasts a lifetime. does not cost much.
it is available in a variety of colors or you can dye it yourself black if you want or a rare variant in olive green wihtout camouflage, it is even available in white snow camouflage.
Nice budget option..
I snapped one of these packs up in RG just recently because I'd been eyeing it for a while. Funnily enough, the pack is actually about the same size and has about the same features as the L.L. Bean backpack my 5 year-old carries to school every day. Sadly, the quality of construction is about the same. Quite striking given that the L.L. Bean pack was $40 and the 8005A was $130 with shipping. Yikes.
The material used on the 8005A is pretty thin and lightweight and does not compare favorable to my Mountainsmith Day pack, my Tactical Tailor Adaptpack or my AWS Beavertail Assault Pack even though all of these packs are roughly the same size, price and designed to fulfill a similar purpose. The shoulder straps on the 8005A are well padded, but seem out of place when wedded to such a small pack. They seem sort of overbuilt for what they are attached to, but I'm sure they're comfortable enough. The waterbottle pockets on the 8005A seem undersized - you can cram in a 32 oz Nalgene, but it's a tight fit.
Overall, the 8005A is pretty underwhelming and leaves me with the impression that the name attached to the product accounts for most of the cost.
I've owned this pack in M81 woodland for about 2 years now and never really found your issues to be a problem. I've done an extensive amount of traveling with it and no issues. I don't own a laptop anymore and my iPad has padded pocket and it's fairly secure being stowed in the back pocket together with a ballistic liner that serves a frame sheet. High-vis lining wasn't an issue for me because I don't stick tiny things in the main compartment, I usually have smaller organizer for those kind of things. I think it's an awesome daypack and well built with the perfect material for its intended purpose. I used my mil discount but even without it, I would pay the full price.
Hey Bruce, This was a hard review for me to do because I know how many people use this pack and have used it for years. To be honest, I was hoping for more when I received it. I appreciate your insight on it's long term use. It's encouraging to know that your satisfied with this pack. Be safe..
Good to hear it’s held up for 2 years. I didn’t realize the material was so thin until I saw this video
@@GeorgeDEFINED Don't get me wrong, I see the point of your video and I think the things you pointed out are valuable for people looking for those specific features. Fortunately for me, the things you pointed out were not a deal breaker. The material is the same thickness as my 3-Day assault pack which have survived multiple paid vacations to Iraq and Afghanistan, and I have no doubt that this bag will last as long. I personally honest reviews are great, I just want to add my experience with it. Thanks, stay safe as well, and keep the awesome videos coming!
@@boredandagitated It's not thin at all. It has the same thickness as my 3-Day Assault pack. I'm not very easy on my gear and it's held up very well so far.
Bruce Cruise 45 thanks for the reply, it’s real good to hear that. How does it do in rain? It’s small enough I could prolly wear it under a jacket if I have to
I have been eyeing this bag. Watching your review is amazing. I think I will pass on this bag full price. What bag do you recommend that is similar in size but BETTER?
Aw dman, I was looking at this bag a long time too ! I’ll stick to my Bullet 15 compare to this.
Stick with the bullet! There is no comparison between LBT and GORUCK! See ya ✌🏾
$155??? Oh hell no! Nice review George. Thanks for your continued efforts.
Totally understand! See ya
Reminds me of Citadel in m81, but not 1000$ on secondary.
Its a low vis assault pack. It doesn't look tactical at all. Blaster, Water ammo radio socks draws and medical
Can you do or maybe you already have one but a video on the same size bag that you do like...thx for the time you put in to make the videos
Direct Action DUST is great for a third of the price. Be Safe
Carried it for two days at Shot Show. Carried my water, snacks, and swag. Was great. Love LBT kit. My kid lives down the street from them. People spend stupid money on stupid kicks made overseas. Spend local.
Bump the bag! How was Shot Show? lol I heard it's invitation only? Thanks for your feedback.. See ya
George DEFINED It’s overwhelming. Been going since 2005. I heard you would have to spend 22-30 seconds at each booth over the course of 4 days to see everything. I enjoy seeing old friends. But yes have to be mil/LE or industry or gun media to get in.
@@RiflemanLEONE Cool Maybe next year I will get a invite.. That would be a great experience. Thanks for responding.. See ya
Im picky about reviewers.... but youre good
@GeorgeDefined is right, this bag isn't worth what its priced at. I paid $119, shipping included with my LE/MIL discount. I have the Low Vis Day Pack and I love it, but it's lacking in a few areas George covered.
What do we want?
High viz!
When do we want it?
Now!

Good thing i didn't pull the trigger. Got the evergood chz 22 instead.
That's a nice small pack! I like the CPL 24 I just want them to put some organization in the front pocket.. See ya ✌🏾
I like this backpack. I like the company. BUT no padding on the bottom for the "laptop" option. Come on. Great honest review.
The pack looks sweet! It just needs to be more functional for me.. See ya ✌🏾
Have you checked out the Haley Strategic flat pack?
I have and I wanted to review it.. I've heard is good.
Anotha one!
Backpack Music! 🎒 See ya Jordan ✌🏾
Nice review. The price point for the bag is too high. Question, have you reviewed any Swiss Gear backpacks?
I have, it's been a couple months.. Maybe it time for another one.. See ya Kenneth ✌🏾
What you know about LBT x Wrmzy DNC Collab 14L Day Pack
The best thing you can do to make this bag infinitely better, is add a grey man tactical panel into it to give it a super rigid back frame. That being said, I agree with 80% of this video for sure. Still an awesome bag though.
Although this bag has some downsides to it I still really enjoy it and am willing to add the panel. What size panel would do the trick for this pack?
hey george, how many bags do you have and how do you store them? I think it'd be interesting to see a video going over your full collection
I only have 3.. I can't keep all these packs! My wife would kill me..lol See ya ✌🏾
George DEFINED oh wow i wouldn't have expected that xD. Do you just return them afterwards?
@@Roy-mx2bz Most of the time I use them for a week and then sell them on eBay as lightly used..
Now its 177$ on the LBT site. Sorry went 27$ up not 70$ down.
Is really no frame a flaw for a 14L bag ?
LBT was the shit back in the day, but they haven't kept up with current day needs.
Hmmm I wonder what happened?? See ya
@@GeorgeDEFINED They failed to innovate and stay ahead of the game, kinda like Sears and how they let internet sales kill them.

I honestly think it feels super cheap. Idk. It’s basically a jansport with Velcro
Yep! Lol
Bag is cool just pricey
Oh man, boss 1 question, this or a goruck bullet??
BULLET!!
You now gotta try out the new version 8006 with the moulded back panelling... I am tempted but atill love both my 10L and 15L bullets
I don't think this is the kind of bag for EDC stuff. I have used their gear before and it was extremely well made. I just don't see this as a good one for regular people EDC. This thing is designed to clip onto their carriers, and set up for gear ditching on the fly.
Mini of u
is nice to see negative opinions but in this case I don't agree. The only negative point of this pack is the price. Outside that, George complains go mostly about the lack of features that precisely allow this pack to be so absurdly light. Every padding, frame, you add to the design is more weight. And one of the key points of this pack is how light it is. Build quality is also, as you expect from LBT, great. I don't understand why this youtuber says that it lacks build quality.
And just to end, the reason why I'm defending it (when in another situation I wouldn't have bothered myself) is because the great customer service LBT has. I had an issue with my delivery and they went the extra mile to solve it
Hey Able.. different strokes for different folks.. not a fan of this pack.. but I appreciate your opinion.. Peace
133 send that back bro
its got that LBT tax lmao
You got that right bobotea! I thought the Federal government was bad... See ya ✌🏾
The 8005a bag sucks. It’s the 8006a with Velcro lining in the inside that’s good to go. Still expensive af tho
I concur overhyped bags.
