That's a hard one. For my EDC the 14L is plenty but when it comes to carrying extra like child care stuff or walking to different shops the extra space of the 22L is welcome. It definitely packs bigger than most other 22L I've handled. Probably closer to a 25-30L comparison from some other companies.
30lbs *should* be ok with these if you have a velcro plate holder or a DIY setup. Chuyen Tactical also has the CT21 which is super comfy. Long as you're doing trail rucking. If you're going Spartan Race style where you're bsrrel rolling through mud and wire these two brands might tear up. CT does offer a 1000D 21L that's tougher but I can't remember if the new model for that has dropped. If you need a bit more room LBT does offer a solid 30L with a belt but it's so-so on the belt comfort. There's a couple more brands as well, some 5.11 will work like the 24 Hour but they are a bit heavier. The Rucker 4.0 does occasionally go on sale, but I don't know if it drops to $150 without codes plus clearance which they don't do much now days.
Looking into it what they use on some other bags I believe the laser cut material is hypalon which is some great stuff.
I’ve been looking forward to your overview on this pack 🙌🏻
Was rocking a 5.11 Rapid origin 25l pack for 3yrs and this lbt pack blows it out the water.
I basically look at LBTs civilian side as Jansport x 5.11 done the 'Murican way 😂❤️🤍💙. Love their stuff and actually have a 30L on the way.
I love my 14 and 22 so much. I use the 14 for warm weather edc and the 22 for cold weather edc because I work outside year round
They're great, just picked up a low vis variant of the 14L to test that as well.
Which would you choose the 22L or 14L I'm torn

you have any recommendations for sub $150 primarily 30lb daily rucking that would also work good for EDC/weekender bag (I pack light)
