I'd use a battery operated candle in the terrarium because the heat might cause the glass to break. I thought it was a great find! I noticed the other ones you looked at in the store could be hung on the wall, which I thought was cool. I see what you mean about that big print being too yellow but I thought it went well in your mudroom. The pillow cover turned out great! I loved that fabric you picked too!
Agreed, the real candle could crack the glass or become overheated in the terrarium becoming a fire risk. I too love the painting in the mudroom centered so see it from the kitchen- I don’t think it’s too big at all. Lovely finds 😊
I was thinking the same thing along with the open candles next to the dried flowers in the dining room… my in-laws house caught fire from a real candle so it hits closer to home maybe 🏠 I might be overly cautious
Hi Andrea. Have you considered cleaning the painting? As it looks old, and over the years would have a build up of dust. It would remove the yellow, and let the nice colors come through. Check out ways to clean it without damaging it. God bless.
Several videos on RUclips advising how to clean old paintings. I did it with one of my mother’s oils, as it was covered in nicotine. It worked very well.
Hi Andrea! :). I love the simplicity of the types of items you choose and also that you put together a softly sophisticated design with a cohesive look throughout your home. I love it. And you never go overly expensive. Your dining room always appeals to me. My husband and I have a small house, and I do pick our decor carefully. It could easily go into clutter-ville at our house if I overdo it on "stuff.". But I don't want to FEEL limited on style or space. And we are not wealthy. :). You show me the possibilities. It can look nicely designed AND be a small house AND I don't have to spend money we don't have. Your thrift finds give me ideas, too. Your house looks cute and light and airy and you have affordable ideas. Thank you so much for sharing! It is a blessing.
Hello Andrea! Brass really is beautiful for everyday decor. I've collected quite A bit over time. But its really pretty for fall! I don't collect many dishes, waiting til i get a hutch. But I do have some pieces & I have a big chunky, heavy platter like that one! But the staining & crazing on that one toy were looking at was just gorgeous! I actually found mine cleaning out an old shed! I bought one of the little brooms in the cinnamon smell, to hang on a peg rack. I have the terrarium like the one you bought. I added a little of the tiny pebbles in the bottom & some faux greenery hanging out & have a small jute rope for hanging. I would be afraid to use a real candle in it, the heat could break the glass! Maybe A battery one would be better.🤷♀️ Same here, i love everything with patina & age! Ohh my.. that large art piece is beautiful!😮 I'm so glad you picked it up! And glad you got A great deal on it too!😊 I think it looks awesome in the mudroom area.. and its an outside print too. I collect old lamps, & oil lamps as well, and that brass lamp you were looking at had one behind it, at 6:47, that was hobnail milk glass that was gorgeous! I would love to find one like that! My oldest lamp & the one that started my addiction is hobnail milk glass & Its my bedside lamp. I have a second bedroom lamp that is made didn't but is also hobnail milk glass. I have a couple others that are milk glass as well, but not hobnail. The one there would look beautiful in my bedroom tho!😁 I use the lemon essential oil as well on the stickers! The dried flower arrangement from your friend is really pretty! The pillow cover turned out really pretty too, love that material!😊 I really liked it in the white chair best! I enjoyed the video, thanks for taking us along! I pray you have a blessed weekend!🙏🏻
I’m so glad you asked about the print! I was at a Salvation Army a few weeks back and found a large round solid copper tray for $25, I hemmed and hawed about it, but brought it up to the cashier and asked if she could do a better price, and she says: “ How about 1/2 off?” YYYEEESSSSS!!! Boy was I tickled. It pays to ask, they can always sat, No.
Hi from Australia Andrea. The picture cleaning suggestion sounds brilliant. You can always live with it for a week in the mudroom then decide. If you put an adjustable lumen picture light above the picture , it may look less yellow with a daylight setting.
The painting was the perfect scale for over your couch. It was in the same tones as your matchstick blinds and would coordinate perfectly! I’m sure it will look wonderful anywhere you place it!
It's good to see that it isn't just the thrift stores near me that are getting more expensive. Loved the video; styling videos are always so inspiring, and can even give me new ideas for restyling what I already have. ❤
I love the pillow hack! We have a smaller home that doesn't allow for a permanent sewing space. I don't always like dragging out my machine, so this is a great option to have.
Beautiful as usual Andrea! I think that incorporating some throw pillows that pull from the warm colors of the big print, may make the print look great above your couch.
Andrea everything you put your hands to looks beautiful. I love the painting in the mud room …..the sink in your kitchen is so nice. Your home is a cozy storybook cottage to me. Blessings beautiful lady 🍁🍁🍁🍁
The paintjng might look good on the wall you have plates hanging in your dining area. I've never used but a lil rub n buff might help with the yellowish frame.
I would love the print on the wall in the dining room that currently has the platters. I think the view into the kitchen, with the warm colors of the breadboards and the baskets, will blend the two rooms.
I don’t really love that print, but I do think she could do better than those platters on that wall - they just don’t really add enough to that big space - in my opinion 😂
My choice would be in the mudroom. It fits very nice and looks so good there. Loved the pillow case. I have made some pillows using the envelope pattern. Thanks for sharing!!
I love the print in the mudroom also. Thrift stores are also great places to find down pillows really cheap. New down pillows are close to forty dollars. I just found three this last week for 2.99 each and the covers are easily removed and washed or changed out. Window spray will work the same as the lemon oil. Brass can also be darkened. I'm one of those people that like the shiny brass and the darkened.
hey girl- loved the video!😁 cool finds😉 great job on the pillow- so cute!🤗👍 always enjoy seeing how you are decorating your home❤ Y'all have a blessed weekend🥰
Wonderful decor and fun shopping. I would have HAD to splurge on that rare deeply stained and crazed genuine antique ironstone platter. Believe it or not that was actually a good price. So HTF. I love your channel and your home. God bless and happy fall.
I liked your painting over the couch, it adds richness, especially for Fall and Winter. It also looks nice in the mudroom. Maybe give it a clean, and then decide. I love vintage finds, and feel it is good use of funds to find things second hand.
Happy Saturday! How would you feel about hanging the large artwork in the space above the current small black frame? The ceiling lamp along with the artwork may complement well. Have fun styling 😊
The terrarium is adorable. I would try a timer candle inside. They make one where the candle burns and flickers from inside not just a flame. Ideal when you have small children.
Hello Andrea I liked all your treasures that you found at the thrift store. I also wanted to let you know that I did go on to the website and order some stuff and thank you for the 10%. That was very sweet. I figured if you use it. it has to be good because you have good opinions about things. Also your house looks always lovely have a blessed weekend😊🤗💖
Last time I went antiquing, they had this blue tag removing tool at the counter she said was from Amazon that worked like a charm! The essential oil smells better I’m sure, but I was impressed by this tool! Linen rags are also great for drying glass
Thank you for taking us on one of your thirfting trips. I absolutely love the painting - $44.00 is a real bargain and will look so amazing anywhere in your house. I especially love those candlesticks - - fantastic deal and they look so warm and inviting on your dining room table. Thrifting is so much fun as it allows us to take a chance and discover hidden treasures. Spring, Summer, Fall & Winter - your home always looks so beautiful - you should be proud of your hard work. Can't wait to see how you decorate for Christmas! Thank you for another great video - always come away having been inspired and learned something new! 😀
If your item can handle heat, all you need is a blow dryer. Heat up the glue on the tag and it peels right off without leaving residue. Saves your essential oil which can be a bit pricey
I'd had a hard time leaving that big oval platter... 😍 The large retro print is beautiful, and if you don't give it to your sister, I think it worked best in the mudrum - centered on the door, so you look straight at it.
The painting you purchased is quite famous and the original was painted in 1848, by a well known British artist. Here is a bit of history about the man. William Shayer was an English landscape painter and figure painter during the Victorian era. He was a self-taught artist, who began by painting decorations on rush-bottom chairs, and moved on to painting carriages in the town of Guildford, after which he started doing heraldic painting. Ultimately he began painting oil on canvas and became skilled at portraying woodland scenes with gypsies, people and animals in front of country inns and farm houses, and beach scenes crowded with boats and fishermen. He lived mainly in the south of England, in Shirley, Southampton, but painted throughout Hampshire and in a wooded district in the southwest part of Hampshire called the New Forest. Michael Hoy, a wealthy Southampton merchant, was one of his most enthusiastic patrons and bought many of Shayer's paintings of the area. He sometimes collaborated with other artists. Particularly successful were his collaborations with Edward Charles Williams, where Williams would paint the landscape and Shayer would add in people and animals. Shayer lived a long life, during which he had two wives and ten children. Lots more info, if you Google. And you got a good price. Prints, with no frame are costing much more.
I love this channel! I love Andrea, her calming voice, her wonderful, creative ideas and beautiful home. I also love how others contribute with their suggestions and all their knowledge!! This is a great place to be!
I love your dining room chairs! What did you do to them? I remember you said you had painted them and hated it, but now they look lovely! I have some dining chairs I am trying to work with. Any tips to make them look like yours would be much appreciated! ❤ Love all your finds!
The colors you use are very cool in tone. That painting made your colors actually look cold instead of warming it up but that is because the only warm color you have going in there is that little tan throw. Not saying thats a bad thing at all I adore your color palette, but you have a theme going and you need to stick with that.... however it really warms up the stairway, I would hang it there! ya. it does work there and gives the eye something to look at. Hang it to the left so you see it as you approach the stairwell, once you go down the stairs you will be watching where you walk not looking up at the pic. I love those dried hydrangeas so much.
You can put a fake flame battery candle in your terrarium. And maybe a bow at the top. I have a glass square terrarium I keep on my table. I put fake leaves, crystals, etc.
You’re home is so beautiful ❤ do you have a video where you explain what ironstone is? I’ve heard you mention it several times but I’m not sure what it is. I love those candlesticks and I do think the large print would work well in the hallway behind your kitchen! Also I would be careful with the candle. I’ve let a candle burn too long in a glass jar and the jar shattered. I think it got too hot so that flame may get too hot under the glass. It was beautiful though ❤
I now you have probably told us before but I can’t find it. Could you please tell me what the paint colors are that you use in your home? I just love them all! Your home is absolutely beautiful! Thank you and God bless.
You could put a battery operated candle in your glass terrarium. Not a fan of the big picture in your home. Not the right colors. Love you and your videos!! Thank you for sharing all your talents with us!!!
I'd use a battery operated candle in the terrarium because the heat might cause the glass to break. I thought it was a great find! That candle will heat up the glass and break it. Be careful.
I like it in the mudroom. It looks beautiful!!!
That little glass terrarium would be so cute with some little bottle brush trees or ornaments for Christmas.
Great idea!!
I have that exact one and I put a little air plant in it on top of small cones
@@Stockpaperscissors
I love airplants, that's a great idea. I think a small potted plant inside would be lovely, too.

Yes, it never hurts to ask “is there any way you can do better on this ?” Polite & respectful

Love it in the mudroom. You were right that over the couch wasn’t great. I like those oval dishes as a coaster or trinket tray on a dresser too.
Spectacular channel. Honest, humble, and homey!🌞Fl
It looks awesome in the mud room
Honestly you have such a good eye. I loved the little oval plates under you grandad’s dish. It’s like they were made for it.
Great job on the pillow cover. Your home is always beautiful. Thank you so much for your inspiration.
I love that painting in the mudroom! ❤
Great finds! Your pillow turned out so cute! Have a blessed weekend!
Thank you Andrea for sharing your beautiful haul! Love the cute pillow cover! B✨🍁
The beautiful print looks so nice above the couch
Take heart. Those little dishes are ironstone. Just not like we like with stamps by well known makers. Love all your finds. Great job.

Beautiful home. Happy Thrifting ❤ new to channel and enjoyed the video. I enjoy thrifting and decorating, so this was right up my alley 😊
I Love the color the print brings to your home, its really beautiful....
Kitchen.
Also I think that is a John Constable print. He is a very famous British painter from late 1700-early 1800. I love his work.
Thank you very much! 😊
Although painted in the same era as the famous John Constable, Andrea's new artwork is by William Shayer.
I do like the picture in the mud room. Consider using a battery candle bin your glass find. Maybe with a timer also
I like it in the mud room also.
Great idea, thanks!
Love your finds!! Love your home.
Thanks so much! 😊
Great video today, Andrea. Thank you for sharing. ❤
If you happen to have a Dollar General near you, they have those mini cinnamon brooms for $1 and large, almost full size ones for $5

Always battery operated candles in an enclosed vessel. I only buy the ones that take AA, the triple A never last. The painting is beautiful.
I love the diy tips that you did for the pillow cover. I will try to do it. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks for sharing 🫰🏼
i enjoyed going thrifting with you!!!! I loved how your pillow turned out!!!! I am going to give that tape a try!!!
I would have bought up those "Little Nature Library" books. They are rare and beautiful. Amazon only has the bird one available "used" for $62!
Yes Andrea, if your budget allows those books were awesome and the color just so pretty❤
I love the painting in the mud room . Yes you inspired me to make a pillow cover this way when needing one and finding some material .
Thank you, and I am so glad!!

Nice video Andrea, thanks for the no sew pillow cause I do not have a sewing machine.

Love the pillow your so talented
Oh I want that platter!!!!! STUNNING!!!!
Thank you so much! ❤
Love all the thrifted things ❤👍
L🤎VE the gorgeous print in mud room!
Great finds lovebthe pillow idea very clever
Love your table!
If your item can handle heat, all you need is a blow dryer. Heat up the glue on the tag and it peels right off without leaving residue. Saves your essential oil which can be a bit pricey
Battery operated candle in the terrarium! 😊
I'd had a hard time leaving that big oval platter... 😍
The large retro print is beautiful, and if you don't give it to your sister, I think it worked best in the mudrum - centered on the door, so you look straight at it.
Loved spending time with you today
I love your home so much ❤❤❤
Many nice finds, all look great
Thank you so much! ❤
I love the print by your stairs. ❤
Sweet!! I never knew you could make a pillow cover without sewing. Thank you for the tip! ❤
You can use hot glue also
You are so welcome! 😊
Thank you Andrea for a lovely video. Your honesty is beautiful ❤
Thank you so much!
I like the homemade pillow..
I don't have a sewing machine yet, so I may try the fabric iron on tape.🍂🦃
Thank you so much! ❤

I was watching the RUclips "Magic Home" and saw a shot of your dining area!!
Hello Andrea, above the tient one, in the mudroom. I think it's worth trying.
