As a diabetic I googled glycemic index to learn where fruits.. grains and veggies are. Also milk is high in carbs/sugar. As mentioned by others always subtract fiber from carb to get net carbs. There are low carb to no carb wraps available. This is very helpful to me: wash rice several times.. cook it.. fridge it till next day. The same with potatoes. This method slows down how fast ones sugar rises when you eat it. All things in moderation but it is how you prepare it sometimes. A registered dietician can help.
I buy 4 loaves 1x a month, in the fridge it goes and yes! keeps all month long! I don't freeze it because, well, no need plus it frees up much needed space in my freezer.
@@deea7348 I do the same. We only buy the highest fiber, grains, nuts and seed bread for toast and sandwiches. For a rare brat or burger, we go w/ white buns. If kept frozen it’s always at optimum freshness. We eat bread…maybe 3 times a week. We depend on left overs for meals. We eat a lot of salads also.
I quit eating ultra processed foods and just eat meats, eggs, bacon, butter, heavy cream for coffee, and fresh produce. I gave up all breads, pasta, rice and beans. No sugar at all. I will never go back to eating ultra processed foods again willingly.
@silentnot Hello 👋 is that form of eating the carnivore diet ? I watch a channel and she eats just meats eggs bacon ,cheese butter and she said it's carnivore
@@Annasmobilehomelifecarnivore seems the best way to go as I’m hearing to get rid of the inflammation. But then doing ketovore to add a bit of other items into your diet. I know I’m trying the ketovore later this month so I can finally start feeling better! I’m going to try to stick to mostly meats and that means all meats from bologna to hotdogs (which aren’t bad for us as they have said for years). But Anna work at one thing at a time, see what works best for you. Do all meats for about 3 months and see how you feel. Take it from there and see what’s best for you.
Anything processed is bad for you especially deli meat ....frozen foods. Loaded in salt. I think the best is organic. Traders Joe's and whole foods is a good place to shop. A little expensive tho. Process foods are killing us slowly. But it's hard to change ...especially when we grew up eating junk. 😢
Hey Anna, in order to get your carbs on the keto bread, you need to subtract the grams of fiber so for example, if one slice of bread is 16 carbs but there’s eight fibers and then you subtract it and then you get eight carbs.
Anna to get the “net” carbs of a food item you subtract the fiber from the carbs. The balance is your carb count. The keto and lowcarb breads have much more fiber than regular bread and that is how they are less carbs.
Stopping smoking is a HUGE accomplishment. work on one thing at a time. As for the sweet tea, have you tried Snapple Zero calorie Peach Tea? It is really good and not too expensive if you buy it in the quart bottles. To go truly keto you'll have to cut out all bread, pasta, potatoes, rice, etc. I would suggest going low carb, meaning no starches, just protein and vegetables. Good luck.
People need to quit getting on you about what you buy or eat! You're a grown woman! Y'all leave her alone. She knows how to research on her own! Sheesh!
I don't know Anna, but I will just stick with natural meat. The processing of the supposedly healthy food alike meat no thanks . Oh, cauliflower, awesome, and so good for us! On the outside of the pretty packages, they tell us what we want to hear, but as you found out looking at ingredients, they lie.
You are right about wheat bread and white bread being basically the same. But WHOLE wheat is much more nutritious due to more fiber and protein. Please show Bailey in your videos. We all love him too!
I was going to tell you about cat litter. I get from Walmart Vibrant Life cat litter pellets . There’s no dust and you don’t have to scoop the whole thing. It absorbs the pee . It’s healthier than the sand litter. It’s about $15 for a 20 pound bag . Also Walmart makes a sugar free sweet tea in a gallon jug just like your regular sweet tea .
The sweet tea is a Nono. Milk is probably not the best choice either. A lot of carbs. However, as you stated, you did quit smoking so that step one. Pretty sure you are probably prediabetic with your last blood work. It won’t get better if you eat the wrong things. But you’re trying. And that’s what counts. Still praying for you and your family.
You’re correct Anna when I compared flour tortilla wraps with the “carb friendly “ almost identical and one brand had more! People should not trust what’s printed on the front of the packaging we should be comparing the nutritional numbers on the back. Breads I ran into the same thing. Also the fancy low this and low that are so much more expensive!
I love cauliflower. Cook, then mash(or leave it in florets), and add a little butter, a dash of black pepper & (secret herb😉) nutmeg! Delicious and healthy. 😋🕊
Nice haul...do you have a George Forman grill or Air Fryer? Bc you can cook all those burgers at one time, then wrap or put each in a sandwich bag then put in a gallon freezer bag....then when you wanna have a burger just take one out....same with the sausage & peppers, cook all at one time & portion out individual servings, then in larger freezer bag...easy for days you're not feeling well....I know your freezer space is limited but this won't take up a lot of space....I'm 74yo, single & this is what I do bc I don't have to cook every day....I save small butter, sour cream, cottage cheese containers for when I do cook spaghetti gravy, soup, etc. if I'm gonna cook something it's just as easy to cook a onetime double batch & freeze....you'll be surprised how much time & energy it saves....you can also buy a 10# bag of leg quarters, bake in oven, then debone & freeze meat in 1 or 2 cups in the sandwich bags then in larger freezer bag, then you've got cooked chicken for chicken salad, or just on a reg. Salad or even for Bailey. I spen about $100/month & these a just a few things I do to save $$$...I try to watch sales & if good sale I get a few xtra....this way you'll always have xtra food in your pantry....we older folks have to stretch those $$$. Good luck
Little steps Anna .....youre doing great 👍🏽. To stop smoking 🚭 is a colossal effort excellent job. Inch by inch.... lifes a cinch. Yard by yard..... life is hard. Words of wisdom from my Father hehehehe 😁.
Heck girl, u gotta lot of allergies, immunotherapy is a grt idea..Downside is it consists of weekly visits and hopefully close to you so your rides don't cost alot, and risk of anaphylaxis.. Dr. Prob will recommend and bailey would be ok if treatment is done. Team Bailey!
That’s true in the beginning. It takes about a year. First I went weekly. Then it was every two weeks. At about a year in I got to once a month. Totally doable. Plus there are nose drops but I never went that route. As sick as Anna gets it will be worth it to her. But stay committed that first year. The key is to get to the monthly injections. .
I never cared for the s.f. carmarel creamer at first but then I learned to like(LOVE!) IT now!!! Hmmmm idk about keto bread vrses Love waltmart bread even lower sugar& carb grams?????? Nah,if that was the case nobody would be choosing keto bread especially when it costs so much more.maybe more fiber in the keto bcz if so you have to subtract the carbs grams.
Sorry Anna but you are incorrect on reading the low carb breads versus regular bread. You need to subtract your fiber from your carbs, and you will get net carbs, please note this. Regular breads are terrible for you. Actually all factory processed breads are not great.

Missing glorious vegetables ! They are kind friends for health !
Anna, if a loaf of bread can stay in the refrigerator for a month and not grow mold it makes you wonder what's in the bread.
Why would you keep it in the fridge. I put mine in the freezer and thaw what I need.

Sugar is my problem. 😢
Dr Ken Berry is a great informative channel to follow@@Annasmobilehomelife
The carnivore is deadly, cholesterol, etc. See the long-term effects, they will put weight on you eventually.

You can call you insurance and get free rides tomand from doctor appointments
You need to deduct the fiber on the keto to find the correct amount of carbs. There is a difference

someone put a comment about DASH salt substitute and I added a comment to it and all of a sudden the comments are deleted is there a reason for this😮
Utube does it. Happens to me all the time

Cut out butter, that is even more important than sugar.
You are right about wheat bread and white bread being basically the same. But WHOLE wheat is much more nutritious due to more fiber and protein. Please show Bailey in your videos. We all love him too!
Try sourdough bread
Nice food haul 😊
Great video Anna, love your grocery hauls. Never deprive yourself of what you enjoy, life is too short.

Agree that those turkey burgers are good! I’ve bought them twice and will buy again.
Banana's is high in sugar
Wheres Bailey?…
You go girl! Have your creamer! 😀 You do you! ❤❤
Turkey burger cholesterol way too high and processed, aldi has grass fed ground beef was 4. For for pack burger, or 5.49 pound ground beef.
Oof, a lot of diet advice here that lacks science. Yikes.
I have started to read the labels finally. Hope to loss weight and watch glucose.

My neurologist told me to take the over the counter prilosec 1.5 hours before eating in the morning.. It works for the rest of the day.
I believe you will be fine using your Regular coffee creamer. One cup should be fine❤

The problem is many doctors are not trained in medical school about nutrition.
Yep cause we all know how smart most docs are
