I think it was worth the effort and an inspiration to experiment more in my own turning. The shape is nice and would work with dried flowers or even pencils.
I wish you would talk more, your voice is very soothing and reassuring, I love the mistakes and learning that you show. others talk too much and never seem to err. I'm 2 years into it, and getting pretty good, but there's always mistakes, and always learning. ❤️
Thank you so much, Steven! That makes me feel really good! I know that sometimes, (well, most times), I don't talk through my videos, I'm not a big talker in real life either, but I'm always listening. I have only been turning for 3 years now, so I don't always feel qualified to give advice, but I'll try to share my thought process a little more. Thanks for watching ❤️ Heather 🇨🇦
What happens if you paint while it’s spinning? And maybe just one or two colours. Would love the purple and blue together. With some natural wood in between
Too engrossed in designing my bandsaw, I'm a bit behind! So an experiment with no talking, personally I prefer you talking and explaining, I just find it more engaging ... anyway, what a gorgeous piece, very striking ☝ P.S. Still think that dismounting the piece, covering the chuck in a plastic bag and then remounting the piece would be better than all that tape and it'd cover the chuck entirely 😁
Very nice Heather. You can call it part of your Spring Collection. 😊
Lol I guess I could!
Nice, Heather. Very abstract!
Nice piece Heather. An impressionistic art piece I'd say. Thanks for sharing. Take care. -Mike
Thanks Mike! I'm still not sure if I like it or not...
@@spiritwynd Like I always say "Chaque à son gout".
The shape of the little cup is very nice too. Thanks Heather.
Thanks Mark

I think I'll keep this one for pencil too
Oh neat! It looks like a forest when you stand it up!
That's what I thought!
I like it a lot. Well done!
Thanks Doug, but I think I added too many colours...but it was just a trial piece anyway
A great technique Heather, looks amazing, thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
💜💙 love it. Great work
Thank you Jennifer 😊
Testing, one, two, three.
Four! 😂
@@spiritwynd , there ya are! I didn't hear your voice.
Lol, I don't always talk! Or feel like talking...it's been a rough week around here.
@@spiritwynd , rough week? The World has gone insane. Take care
Color good!
Thanks 😊

There is a technique where you can blow paint on it while it's spinning. But that's more for plates or bowls. I could try it and send you pictures!
