This is the most genuine Dale Jr conversation ever. Dude is a curse-word machine away from the cameras, love it 😂
😆😂😂
That's why Nascar has a 5 second delay on tv because of Jr at Talladega
Genuine conversation? One theory is literally so far out in left field that I started thinking this was staged for views. Love Dale though. He is 100% right. If this is a real argument, I can see how race-craft is only understood by the few, .... and not even all drivers.
@@gaccount2921 Do you really think he would ever say anything wrong ? Hes got more people watching him than anyone. Even Chase
Love the emotion too bad we weren't 20 years ago when there'd be a lot more than emotion on the track and after the drivers got out of the cars the way NASCAR was made
I’d like to think Kyle Petty was watching this and laughingly saying _“that’s incredible!”_
As a chastain fan Ross vs Denny is a great rivalry I hope it continues as respectful and hard racing moving forward
It cannot be incredible unless Kyle Petty deems it so.
Kyle Petty is a wishy washy, mealy mouthed S.O.B. who s reactions are faker than Michael Waltrip's hair. I 'm a Joey Logano Fan and if Denny wrecked Ross, then Chase wrecked Lajoie. Chase is not his father, who I liked.
"What the f#¢k does Kyle petty have to do with this?!?" That's gotta be my favorite Dale Jr sound bite of all time
I loved that! 🤣
Need that on a T-shirt!
Agreed 100 percent!
not saying Mike's an idiot but Damn !!!
That was GOLD 😂😂😂😅
As a former driver , flagman, scorer, you name it, i've done it, I totally agree with everything Jr said. This was a great conversation !
Honestly one of the most civil disagreements I have ever seen. Both men respected the other’s opinions and did not let emotions get them too heated and were able to come to a civil conclusion. Bravo. Good to see this type of disagreement rather than the days of old yelling name calling and insulting.
This is by far the best racing talk clip of the year. Mike was dead wrong and just kept double talking his way further into a hole.
the best part is JR like trying to process how one of his best friends can argue against this.
You can't talk about racing or argue racing with somebody who has clearly never actually driven competitively, let alone a NASCAR race in a prestigious car.
Mike is the most uneducated dude to talk about racing with lmaoo
"what the f**k kyle petty got to do with this?" 🤣🤣🤣
Best statement ever!!!! Lol
Mike is living in a dream world.
Damn it Mike, I've been watching this my whole f**cking life. Loved it. Like trying to explain to your wife or friends how much racing is a part of who we are. Literally my whole life also. Love the back and fourth.
I wonder what Denny and Ross thought of this clip. Lol! Good stuff!
12:53 Mike proves JR is right. The debate is over 😂
11:36 Kyle petty moment
Why is Mike even on this show 😂
Because he's half right
Jr is right about s driver code (driver courtesy)_
Mike is right that you can lose your privilege to that courtesy
The birth of a t-shirt @ 11:40
I love it 😂 healthy debate amongst friends and colleagues - the gubmint could learn from this- nice job guys!
Hahaha this was my favorite. This is the one time I wanted to fight mike myself 🤣🤣🤣
Mike missed on this one. Jr got it exactly right. Mike tried six different ways to justify his view, and NONE of them worked.
I think you're wrong :-0)
Jr is right about s driver code (driver courtesy)_
Mike is right that you can lose your privilege to that courtesy
Which makes Mike Wrong bc if you lose that courtesy you are being punished for whatever you did making it retaliation…
@@gotemlookin20 Withholding a benefit does not equal punishment.
Any court would tell you the same.
Driver courtesy is just like a part of racing, you earn it or you don't.
If I fail to earn it I have no one to blame but myself.
@@2Truth4Liberty withholding a benefit from someone for any action or reason said person did is EXACTLY retaliation
@@markclemens9964
"withholding a benefit from someone for any action or reason said person did is EXACTLY retaliation"
Incorrect. Treating each person acording to the level of respect they deserve is not retaliation.
----
The retaliation (or what one could call natural reaction) occurred at the point in time where the assessment of the level of respect deserved CHANGED.
So, retaliation (in that sense) occured long before the race at issue even started. During the race there was only a giving of benefits or withholding of benefits as previously determined would be appropriate, no retaliation during the race.
Denny is a pro because initially I was on Mike Davis’ side but then I saw the hit multiple times and I realized Denny 1000% purposely ran Ross into the wall
This was a hilarious segment. I still haven't decided if denny pay Ross back yet on purpose. 😄
😂🤣😂! Good stuff! I’m with Jr on this one.🤷🏼♂️😂🤣
I'm with Mike Davis on the first issue.
I don't care who is more credible, the fact is that, with the available information, it COULD BE either way.
Some times there is no loser or winner to an argument because both sides MIGHT be wrong.
Been going to races all my life. Sure Dale didn't have an example at hand, but imagine thinking a last lap/late race retaliation never happened because he didn't have one right then.
I mean c'mon, we all watched the Kes/Edwards debacle and it happened multiple times between just those two guys!
My favorite segment on this show ever.
Going with Dale on this one .. that was funny .. wtf Kyle petty got to do with this 😆 🤣 😂 😹
Dirty MO editor. When such a heated review on a past race among these pros to the sport, how can we the viewers remember a few seconds in a race. Please post a still pic for 2 seconds that can help us to try and remember. A link in upper right hand corner to jump to clip if anything or a link in description. Otherwise it's just a numbing argument between two respected men without understanding.
Mike: “anyone he wants to race hard”
So, anyone he feels like he needs to get even with? 😂 Like Jr. I think Denny pulled a savvy veteran move to get revenge and knew exactly what he was doing and how it was going to play out.
"That's not an argument."
Correct, Dale....😂
I love this kind of exchange. Keep it coming
Hey @DaleJr a Alabama fan will never admit there wrong. Which is why Mike Davis is the way he is.
You’re both right either way it does not make a difference. It’s never worth arguing over something that’s meaningless. It’s like arguing over if something stinks, it’s an opinion. If you argue with a fool the bystanders will forget which one is the fool.
Still all these months later. I still have no idea what Mike’s main point was.
If I'm understanding him correctly, Mike was saying that while contact took place, it wasn't necessarily retaliation from Denny, but hard racing. He was saying if this was any other scenario without drivers having beef, it'd just be a hard racing deal.
Jr. saw it as retaliation pure and simple, just not overly blatant, but enough to send a message.
Me personally, I think either way, Denny got retaliation whether it was intended or not, simply because you have to wonder or even think about it, and the seed of doubt is there.
To Mike's point, unless Denny flat out admitted it, you can make the claim one way or the other.
To Jr's point, he didn't cut him any slack which was uncharacteristic of how he raced everyone else that day.
I teach/train people in problem resolution... What I'm seeing here is one of my FAVORITE quotes... "W are in VIOLENT agreement!" Yes Denny wrecked him... What was in Denny's mind... we shall never know. But they are saying the same thing . :-)
Somewhere Denny is grinning. 😏
14:30 I agree with Dale Jr. . broke a driver code BUT a driver code only means driver courtesy
So, not retaliation, but was lack of courtesy. He had already said he would not provide courtesy (i.e.,. not cut him any breaks)
That statement by Hamlin put Chastain on notice to DRIVE HIM CLEAN - i.e., you are going to have take what you get, not be given be given something through courtesy
So, I agree with Mike Davis too :-0)
That's racing.
2 cars, 1 hole - if both go for the same hole, that's racing
Hey Mike, I think Jr knows what he’s talking about.
Both do, there is middle ground
Jr is right about s driver code (driver courtesy)_
Mike is right that you can lose your privilege to that courtesy
But listen the intimidator got his name for a reason. So you're going to tell us that when Dale senior pulls up on somebody on the side or behind them and gets gets the air off of them to make them lose their downforce and they spin out they never really touch he ain't wrecking them. It don't take much to upset one of them cars come on now. Exactly like Dale Jr said he did it in a way that it looked didn't look like he was really retaliating surgical
Dale Sr.was the best!! He never cut anyone any slack.. move over or get run over!! Lol
I’m surprised Mike still has a job after this, good grief.
Mike knew he lost this debate, he was trying to say face.
Geez, listening to that makes me wonder if Mike has ever watched a race before. Good grief, he wanted to be right so bad that his common sense went on vacation.
It’s as bad as telling Kenseth fans he blocked Logano up and down the track twice. “Logano took him out!” 🤦🏻♂️
Dale Jr. Never gets mad. When I want to laugh this is my go to video.
Very entertaining disagreement. I loved this discussion.
"The guy cant drive his car when he gets run into Mike".
They both tried to drive into a gap that was guaranteed to disappear. That is both examples of the drivers that wrecked given here.
non Nascar driver arguing with a retired Nascar driver LOL ridiculous!!!
Putting Chastain in a position to either lift or wreck is racing! PERIOD!!
Denny knew full well who it was on the outside and would NOT have done what he did if it were anybody else. That's Racing !!
Except for Larson!?!??!! You Hamlin apologists are hilarious!!
I personally think the Chase & Cory situation is the same as Denny & Ross. Chase & Denny made the move to put the other driver in a bad spot. Denny's move had merit and was more blatant
11:30 you're welcome
After this conversation between Dale and Mike, wonder did Mike get a Christmas present bag of coal from Dale this Christmas? I think I saw Mike workin' at What-A-Burger in Mooresville last week. Mike, their are soup kitchens all over Rowan County ... You need a sleeping bag, I got one for free and a reserved spot under the I-85 bridge at the Kannapolis exit. Good job you two. Hug and make up. I think Denny was smart like a veteran fox ...
@dale I watched your lost speedways show but my question and I think it would make a great show topic but (how do you feel about being one of the most famous nascar drivers to give north Wilkesboro a second life and preventing the track ending up in one of your jars?)
To me NASCAR should compensate drivers who get wrecked. Between the shock value of the wreck itself and the drama of people fighting over whose fault it was, it's a huge part of the entertainment factor of the sport. Without dramatic wrecks NASCAR was cease to exist.
Easily the most frustrating video on this channel. Mike moved his goalposts and contradicted himself throughout the entire thing. That point about “if we change the cast” is a terrible argument because of course this isn’t retaliation between 2 random drivers. You can’t ignore the history and still argue about retaliation. Dale’s right. Easily.
Nascar is no longer about racing and real sponsorships and auto sales.
It is all tv entertainment, hence why that started bringing wwe personalities.
Nascar also made a statement that pretty much sums that up when they didn't want to suspend bubba wallace because someone might want to come to a race and watch him hit the wall.
Good lord the Mental Gymnastics is unparalleled!!
Favorite argument so far 😂
Lol! We still did not find out who peed farther, on the racetrack or in the podcast booth. It is ok fellas, the only thing that mattered is what the NASCAR boys think. Cheers from Texas!
Denny should have been parked ...he thinks his crap doesn't stink and I hope Ross never changes.
Even Kyle Busch knew it was comin… He lifted and gave them plenty room
Denny just hit that corner like Ross wasn’t there
As a driver I'm telling you straight up 20 to go or one to go. If a driver that has gotten into me many times in this situation I definitely would use him up....
Hahahahaha “wtf does Kyle petty have to do with it”
Mike low key gets on my nerves. The comments he makes, like he knows whats going on, yet he has never drove a racecar nor understands what actually goes through our minds.
Pick a situation your Dad was in
Denny wrecked him definitely
Junior is fired right up, love it
The funny thing is how much Jr gets wrong about what he thinks he saw both during this and during broadcasts.
Easy argument in any other type of racing. Don't encroach on someone else's racing line when side by side.
Just watched it again, not only did they touch but if you watch after contact Denny continued to drive to the wall! Chase did run to the wall blocking Cory but i wouldn't call it wrecking him but we are talking retaliation here!
What the hell is Mike smoking ? This argument is not about this wreck ! Mike's days are numbered ?
My favorite thing here is a spectator telling an actual driver how drivers think. He literally says you know more than me and then proceeds to tell Dale Jr how wrong he was. His argument about the cast is worthless because variables always matter!
Mike saying “let me finish” is hilarious considering he cut Jr. off several time
Dale is wrong about Corey running into the back of Chase. Chase clipped him in the left front, sending Corey into the wall. I agree with Mike. Love hearing the honest conversations from this podcast. Dirty Mo is doing good things.
Can't we all just get along ?
😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
I like how Mike gave in some. Show's good character to admit to a different poit of view.. We needed some hot debate's.
Denny wrecked him the way a driver with 40 + wins and 10+ years experience wrecks another driver
First NASCAR season ever ever.
Yeah this season spoiled me to say the least 😂
Can we speed along to Speed Weeks already!
Jr could have mentioned the feud between Carl & Brad, THAT was a deal that involved Cup & Busch Series racing and they always got together right at the end of the race...
happy holidays
Mike has no credibility now. Using DBC for backup proves that Mike’s tires are flat. Get him Junior!!
I drove race cars for years and so many messed with me he always kept out in the back of your head
The quote of the year 11:33-11:41
Jr and every other veteran driver who has experience knows it was payback. A scalpel not a hammer.
I really hope this was somewhat staged otherwise I don't know how somebody can be that wrong and still argue his undefined point to the bitter end.
Poor Dale trying to deal with those moving goalposts
Mike, you are wrong. 😁
Jr is spot on here. Their prior history and Denny's skills as a driver lead me to conclude it was a calculated move.
Lmao that man changed his stance 18 times to fit his own narrative. How's he gonna say Dale Jr., who was born into Nascar alongside the greatest driver to ever do it, is wrong.
Fantastic debate. Loved watching this. But Mr. Davis is completely wrong. Denny hit Ross. Not sure how the dispute over actual contact came up. Ross then hit the wall. Denny did that knowing exactly who was there. Denny wanted to pay Ross back. I’m glad they were respectful of each other (as friends) and let the other make a case for their argument. But Mike is dead wrong here 😂
Is somebody going to get fired for arguing with Dale Jr?... I'm looking for work...😁
It is all Junior can do not to drop a few f-bombs 🤣🤣🤣
Chastain has wrecked how many people? Come on man.. Veteran and a rookie ..deny did what any racer would do, even Ross. Get hom out of your way to win. What racer had never done that. Earnhardt Sr. Did it all the time.
Other people to consider for interviews...Jack Arute, Eli Gold both around when your dad can through.
The fact of the matter is, Mike is right. Go back and watch the restart at pocono. Denny MIGHT have run him up the track on purpose, but they barely touch. Obviously Ross hits the wall hard but he was racing just as hard as Denny was
I said it when I watched this episode and I will say it again here. They're both right in this instance. I get where Mike is trying to come from, but when he says, "You're the driver. I'm not." He loses the argument by principle there. Thing about it is this: As a driver(couch driver, nowhere near talented enough...) the thing I'm thinking about is as Mike brought up is how many to go and where I'm at and who I am racing against. But at the exact same time, if I know one of those drivers is someone I owe, I'm doing exactly what Dale explained Denny did(and ultimately what we all watched happen.) I'm running my line and force them to make their decision. The flip side of that coin is that if Ross doesn't lift and just buries it into Hamlin's door, it ends both of their days.
Also, had I been the one in Ross's position, I know Denny ain't gonna cut me a break, so bury it off in their and see if she sticks! HAHAHAHA Raise Hell! Praise Dale!
6:20 yes, "all BARK and no BITE" is what they used to say.
Jr completely disagreed that William Byron ran logano in the wall in that race. It wasn't just racing then...
Squeezed ‘em, meant to do it, and it’s all good.
I love Mike playing devils advocate here. But I truly don’t believe he really thinks what he’s saying. He’s definitely trying to appease the anti-Hendrick and Chase Elliott fan base here by siding with Hamlin. 😂
What happens after the cameras turned off? Lol! Wonder how that day was
The old guys use to say " he carried up to the tulleys and drop him a$$ off
Should fire Mike and get Stone Cold Steve Auston as a new cohost
