LOL let's just ignore the fact that Denny did the some thing to Larson last week. No one can beat Larson without wrecking him. That is all this season has proven to be.
You mean when Larson got loose, hit the wall twice, and slowed down in front of a race car driver, who isn't ever going to lift on the last lap? Kyle could inform you that Denny cured cancer and you ignorant people would still find a way to hate Denny for it 😂
I'm a Larson guy but I don't think Denny intentionally did it. But yeah it Larson isn't getting wrecked he's the fastest guy out there.....except when Denny was hunting him down at Kansas. Larson was crazy loose and that also contributed to the way he wrecked.
I agree with most of this except for the Harvick bit. He wasn’t that damaged and was mostly trapped behind the wreck. He finished well because he had ran well most of the day
I know last season Larson’s spotter asked if if he could work with Ross & Kyle immediately answered ‘he doesn’t work with anyone’. That told me everything I needed to know about Ross!
Well was that before or after Kyle and chase were intentionally blocking holding up and trying to wreck Ross week in and week out. If I were Ross I would have given the same answer.
@@mlwilliam213 obviously Ross will too….. people out here saying the people who wrecked people on purpose for making them mad would correct a kid that’s racing to win like the exact same people that wrecked people for being in the way, that’s some low iq logic.
I completely disagree on the ordering from that caution. If we put bubba and Burton ahead Elliot, Brad, and them then we establish a dangerous precedent that slowing down to avoid wrecks will lose positions. I don't care what you think about fairness but NASCAR is completely in the right on the caution rulings
Here's the truth though. Until the DRIVERS actually wreck him back on the track, nothing will change. They need to stop crying to Nascar, Chevrolet, or say "someone should punch him in the face". I mean you have the opportunity to wreck him. Do it. Every week have a different driver do it. 4 or 5 DNFs in a row and it'll get through. The only way to get him to learn is to get him back worse. I'm a Larson fan btw. These drivers gotta stop being nice with him.

And yeah, Truex's move was bad too, far too aggressive and high but I do think he got loose and just couldn't stop his slide. As opposed to trying to bang. Disappointing either way.
I've been thinking the same thing lately. There are a lot of people who only really watch for the wrecks/drama, so I'd be surprised if it were implemented. Late race cautions have been an absolute joke this year. COTA was embarassing.
Real simple for me; three sets of cars behind Ross and Kyle kept to their lanes and did not run each other into fence. Chastain admitted he wanted to push Kyle into the wall just didn’t want to wreck his own car. 😭😭😭 Best line I heard; Class A car with Class B driver. Kyle Bush and others have the best idea; in a wreck, crash, spin etc. go to back of line. Just like his son does in his racing series. If everyone gets sent to the back this behavior will stop. For me, I don’t enjoy on purpose wrecks or what is now termed “aggressive” driving.
Ross actually gets into Larson twice in the restart where they crashed. He bumped him on entry, then doored him, which actually caused the crash. Just a dumb move. Ruined his own race because he couldn't restrain himself.
Drivers just need to start dumping Chastain out in stage 1. Prevent him from pointing. Prevent him from winning. Put his punk ass in time out until he can race like a gentleman.
When a caution come out doesn't that freeze the grid? Therefor the cars passing the temporarily stalled cares don't get to advanced. Only the ones that are seriously damaged and then get lapped under caution go a lap down
The 9 was going to come and pit and fix damage until the order was read. Once they called it out they figured they might as well just stay out and what happens happens. If you fall like a stone to finish 15th or fix it and restart 15th, its a net. I don't get it either, but I guess the saying "Don't hate the player, hate the game" applies.
Just lazy on NASCAR job. Frustrating that positions given back have been going on for at least a year plus, I’m sure we missed even more. With stage racing and getting points you have to get it 100% right.
Harvick thought his car was destroyed. Lol.. Rodney and Fedewa were like “no man it’s fine, you’re fine” and Kevin was like “dude, this car is fucking destroyed how would we not pit?” Lol
With you there dawg -- a quick review of the scanner talk from yesterday would have been extremely helpful for Denny and his buddy to get the story right. As you said above -- plus -- after the race when Chase basically admitted that he was being a little touchy -- and that he probably should have cleaned up his tires before the 2nd to last restart. From there --- he did a better job -- and if he would have not been so stuck on not having a good finish ... he probably could have competed for the win (not sure I fault him for that -- but at the same time -- he is there to drive the hell out of a race car ... way too much thinking and not enough refusing to lose with him since he came back).
Denny's got a point. Every time I see Ross almost win, I say "He's really gonna earn this win if he gets it, because NO ONE is cutting him a break on his way to the lead."
Since when are they supposed to cut him a break when he certainly cuts no one else breaks? I mean the way you talk everyone should just pull over and let the guy win
How far back do we have to go to find the beginning of any back and forth action reactions, what do we include off track vs on track, what level of all the above? I did not know what to think of Chastain in the beginning but I saw the last incident as just racing. Got to give it to him he is a good driver.
He’s a ‘drive-through’ driver! No skill set at all of working his way from the back by passing & using some fucking logic! Before you start crying I worked for a winning race team for over 10 years. Jimmy didn’t win all his trophy’s & a few championships by driving through his competition!!
im just being honest... iv been watching nascar since i was about 5 or 6 years old, 1995. i remember because i choose the six car as my fav driver because that was my age, and the driver was mark martin. iv watched racing since dale sr was BIG BIG BIG TIME..... all im gonna say is this.... nascar has not had another driver even close to dale SR, untill now. Im not saying chastain drives like sr did.... but he gets into problems like SR did..... SR, DID wreck people for the win "I was just trying to rattle his cage".... give me a break.... we havent had this type of racing for over 20 years. and the fans, love it, even the haters, they love to watch the races hoping he wrecks or gets taking out. they are loving it to hate him. and thats not a bad thing for nascar (for chastain yea it prob is not a good thing). Its giving this sport a reason to watch it more, its no longer boring because chastain.... tell me what other driver do u tune into a race for, aside to see what chastain will do wrong, or win. do you tune into a race to watch harvick come back in the last 5 laps and cant get around? no.... u watch because if chastain is in the race,... you know something is going to happen. its gonna be special. again, im not taking anything away from the rest of the drivers, but we cannot deny. chastain is different. and i hope he continues what he is doing, hopefully gets better and learns but, i hope he doesnt stop trying.
what hamlin says at the 11 min mark is true.... its definitly alot harderr for chastain because everyone knows how agressive he is and they are just done with it so. every pass is gonna be like a pass for the lead. every single time.
Think about who had more to lose. Kyle has 2 wins he's in the championship. Ross has none. If Ross was so smart and all he wouldn't have pushed that issue. Imo.
Denny is a punk!!! He's just as guilty as Chastain. I'm a KFB fan but If Larson is fast can't no one beat him unless they wreck him. Denny is guilty asf
I think Ross done it on purpose and was going to put Larson into the wall and Larson let off and ross wrecked with him. Ross just isn't going to admit it live on TV.
Rick Hendrick’s interview where he talked about Dale Sr talking about one of his drivers (I’m assuming Geoff Bodine) having all the talent, but he needs to learn to race, was spot on. Ross has the talent, and he’s got a good team, but he’s gotta learn to race. Yeah Dale Sr roughed people up, but he had respect in the garage too, and that’s the difference between a Dale Sr caliber driver and a guy like Ross. I don’t know how someone teaches him, maybe it’s getting dumped in a corner, or maybe he needs a mentor, a Kevin Harvick or Brad K to teach him, but he’s gotta learn to race and when to push the envelope and when not to.
I like something Denny said about maybe they are getting Chastain back, because I’m a fan of his, and I see him get pushed all over the track at times. Idk. Maybe 😂😂😂.
Denny I have been a fan of yours since your first cup race when I seen you at Daytona. And I have always supported you and will continue. But for every Nascar driver at the moment all they have to do is touch Chastain and say we'll he wrecked me. Don't get me wrong Chastain has caused himself more trouble then he probably realizes. I swear he has a short term memory but it's not always him. Love the win last week please win the championship this year. Thansk for the podcast.
He refuses to work with any other driver. Yes, it’s racing & bumping but there are times you’re gonna need a friend out there. Ross has screwed that fairly royally! I know he wants to be aggressive but for god sakes- learn some PASSING skill instead of driving through. If he had to pay out of pocket for parts & damages like back in the day.. he’d think twice! That’s why he’ll NEVER be a Dale Sr!

That was pretty funny when Kyle just pushed him down the track for a bit... I was hoping he'd just push him into a wall or something. Reminds me of those moments you're in traffic and some bonehead cuts you off and your inner Bo Duke just wants to ram them and hold it to the floor HAHA! Denny, you nailed it on Ross' finishes and that goes exactly to what Mr H said "you're not going to win a championship" yeah, when you've put everyone in the wall all season. But you nailed it, he's creating his own challenges and he deserves it.
Yep! Once he learns to not go "full retard" he'll get more wins. He's almost always up front. Hell, Kyle Larson would go way too hard when he was first in and tear up his cars.
I wish Ross would clean it up, i do want to like him but 2 things happened at Darlington. First you wrecked yourself trying to do whatever to Larson. Second and most critical, you have pissed off Rick Hendrick

Ross basically took himself out. Egos are hard to change. Like both drivers. And the sport needs them. One thing for sure it is going to be interesting.😂
When I tune in to watch a race, I want to watch a race. Chastain turns it into a wreck extravaganza. Having said that I’m a hypocrite because I want every driver that races next to him to make sure he doesn’t finish races. Maybe then we can get back to racing.
that has happened well before Chasten hopped in car to drive. You can't go back to actual racing because nascar WANTS the chaos. Until the audience wisens up and realizes that, this crap will continue. if it's not Ross it'll be somebody else.
@eldiablort1461 Have you seen the stands? The tv ratings? They are in the toilet. Nascar needs to let them have at it. If everybody hung their car out like Chastain then you would see racing the way it used to be. Thats when everybody was watching. The audience was declining way before Ross
I think we are going to see a side of Kyle that's been tamed now for a while. You think he won't put Ross in the wall? How many times he take chase out for a win? C'mon Denny what race are you gonna win coming up?
A restart on with six laps to go at Darlington is a "Key Restart" compared to any other Nascar track. If you don't get the lead you will watch the guy in front of you drive away at that track. Other drivers (like Truex) messed up big time but gets the pass as just a racing deal. Then at the end of the race we are told how a professional like Harvick raced Baron clean for the finish. What a joke he had a wrecked car that shouldn't have been there. The media likes to beat up on Ross because it gives them something to talk about all week and spikes their ratings.
I don't understand why people hate him? 1 they say he's too aggressive and doesn't cut anybody any breaks, in what sport do you cut your opponent a break? Has there ever been an NBA game where player thought I'm just going to run a little slower shoot a little less accurate and cut this guy a break and maybe in the playoffs he'll run a little slower and shoot a little less accurate and cut me a break. 2 they picking apart for every little thing for sliding up in to Kyle Larson who split up in the hand the restart before or Martin Truex who split up into him earlier in the race and it was all kosher Or when Martin Truex slid up into the 22 in wreck the whole field where was the hate for Truex? How can I move be dirty Ross does it but it's okay when someone else does it?
It has nothing to do with winning races. Its all in the attitude of the person that people follow. Perfect example is Kyle busch when he was winning everything and couldn't understand why nobody liked him. Its all because of the attitude the person has. whether you don't like it or not Ross chastain has that persona that Dale sr had, Its all in the interviews after the race how a driver expresses himself, . Ross is not going anywhere and with nascar and the commentators and every youtube video out there blaming every incident on Chastain is literally making him an intimidator. Bring it on Nascar is a failing industry anyway. Stir the pot!
I was at the race. The first restart between them, I didn't have a good view but Larson lost multiple spots. I just assumed Chastain squeezed him in the fence. It was hard to pass. Then another time Larson got into him a little and I assumed that was the payback. Then their last restart, I told my GF there is no way those 2 weren't going to get into it. Just assume they will always get into it. Would be beneficial though for Larson to just wreck him earlier in the race.
@@jeremyfisher8782 nah. Because before that he'll wreck the best car. Take him out early IMO. You have no idea if you'll have the opportunity late in the race to get him back. You have absolutely no idea when ding dong will wreck ppl. Now I don't blame him for every single issue but he is often at fault and for major things
@@Ka_Gg I actually think we are pretty close to being on the same page. At the end of the day -- the issue -- is that Melonhead is wrecking other drivers for no reason. Melonhead wrecks guys -- and he does it in a way where it doesn't help him win. I think these guys understand the game. They would still be pissed if they got wrecked my Melonhead -- and he actually pulled off the win. But the way he is doing it right now -- well he is forcing his competitors to lift/wreck -- and then he doesn't win -- which means Melonhead ends up just wrecking people to wreck them. What is the point of that? I think Melonhead thinks that this makes him feared ... or a bad ass. From my point of view -- it proves that he isn't close to being as good as people say. Watch Jeff Gordon bump Rusty Wallace at the end of the 97 spring race and the night race in 02 ... both times he Gordon ends up winning. But guess what else happens ... Jeff moves Rusty just enough to get Rusty out of the racing line -- so he can drive past. Rusty was pretty pissed -- but at the same time -- he has done the same thing. I think the talk about Melonhead being talented may be true. But right now, Melonhead is forcing his peers to either lift or wreck -- for no reason at all. He still isn't using this trick to win. So -- it is been done better. I think the drivers today would still be pissed -- but I think they could make better sense out of it if there was an actual reason for doing it -- you know ... liking helping him win. All he is done now is put a target on his back -- so the other drivers can easily move him out of the way -- and to not feel guilty about it when they make the same move to actually win.
@@jeremyfisher8782 yep. He just has to dial the aggression back a little bit. If he does this in turn 3 and 4 of the last lap, I'm less upset about it. Still annoyed as a Larson fan but it would make sense then. Really he should have just door Larson off of the turned again and got a run. If you got the lead, it was very hard for other guys to pass. All the cars were about the same.
Denny it seems to me that Chastain always has fast equipment, He seems to be driving like it is a video game bumps out of the way and drives into others, he needs to learn to lift and use the steering wheel to go around slower cars. He needs a little maturity.
Burton should've been 3rd place after the restart. That was a joke. He was having a good day hanging in the top 10 all day. He didn't have the fastest car but we were pulling for him.
I wonder how much of this problem is because of the stages and the playoffs. People say don't do this till the end of the race, but if you want stage points you cant wait. Also, there's not much benefit to coming in second. I feel drivers will be more willing to make stupid moves to potentially win the race because if it works out you win big and if it fails it doesn't really hurt you very much.
chastains aggressive racing is gonna be the downfall of trackhouse they are not a self sufficient team they relay on rcr and hms for their engines and now having 3 run ins with larson causing him to lose races where he could of won hendrick is gettting sick of it so it only hurting trackhouse as a team and this is the reason why ross will never be a champion because he is to aggressive and casue himself to have bad finish's and DNFs... I think Ross was probably going to come out of all this ok until he personally pissed Rick off. Hendrick wields more power than any other owner. He's not one I would think it would be good idea for a driver to get on the wrong side of.
I mean it’s his job to race 110% from the drop of the green flag. I don’t understand people who say he races to hard to early. Fans don’t watch a 3 hour race for them to play follow the leader until the last 10 laps.
Chastain should not have been the leader when truex took himself out he jumped the restart Kyle was the leader and Ross crossed the start/finish line first why isn't anyone pointing that out watch the replay he was clearly in front of Kyle
Nobody gonna talk about truex running chastain into the wall for the stage 2 win? Couldn’t have helped chastain’s car for the rest of the race even though he still looked strong
Truex did not run him into the wall. Ross did that on his own coming up on a lapper and then came down and hit MTJ. Larry Mc even mentioned seeing Ross’s brake trace and mentioned Ross getting on the brakes and causing his rear to get loose.
@@wingracer1614 no sir!! You are wrong 🤣🤣🤣 I would love to have a beer with you and discuss this!! Nascar and racing in general doesn't always have a clear "bad guy" in every incident. Agree with everything said until the last minute. Chastain is absolutely terrible for the sport of NASCAR. If he doesn’t change, he will kill another driver or himself on the track. If/when chastain wrecks someone at 200 mph and they die, nascar will cease to exist in the following years.

Hamlin just completely contradicts himself. Says people involved in wreck shouldn’t maintain their position at the time of caution, then says a caution flies and people try to race up to grab a few sneaky positions. Which is it?
Why is nobody talking about him jumping the restart before this one and Nascar not saying a word about it? He should not have even been up there to begin with.
Denny just explained to you Kyle came down on Ross, with Ross father out front when they hit turns the lead car into the wall right across the nose of the other car!
He finished well because he had ran well most of the day
Same story for Brad Keselowski
He was wrecked enough to not win

Harvick fan.. I agree with you. At most local tracks, if you are involved in the wreck you go to the rear. That NEEDS to happen in NASCAR.
When Ross does it its "aggressive", when Jesse Iwuji or Joe Graf do it its "lack of talent"
Ross actually gets into Larson twice in the restart where they crashed. He bumped him on entry, then doored him, which actually caused the crash. Just a dumb move. Ruined his own race because he couldn't restrain himself.

The starting grid should just be totally random every single restart. The whole “sport” is a big gimmick now anyway.
When a caution come out doesn't that freeze the grid? Therefor the cars passing the temporarily stalled cares don't get to advanced. Only the ones that are seriously damaged and then get lapped under caution go a lap down
Nope, you have to maintain a minimum speed Klaus 😅
The 9 was going to come and pit and fix damage until the order was read. Once they called it out they figured they might as well just stay out and what happens happens. If you fall like a stone to finish 15th or fix it and restart 15th, its a net. I don't get it either, but I guess the saying "Don't hate the player, hate the game" applies.
Just lazy on NASCAR job. Frustrating that positions given back have been going on for at least a year plus, I’m sure we missed even more. With stage racing and getting points you have to get it 100% right.
@@stevecarey4740 Listening to the 9 each race it's happened to them a couple times this year alone where they got hosed on the caution read back.

Chastain is getting piled on now, that's indisputable.

otoh, Crashtain has earned this shitty reputation.

Im not saying chastain drives like sr did.... but he gets into problems like SR did.....

Agree with everything said until the last minute. Chastain is absolutely terrible for the sport of NASCAR. If he doesn’t change, he will kill another driver or himself on the track. This new car is proven to be unsafe and has injured multiple drivers and even forced Kurt Busch to retire early. If/when chastain wrecks someone at 200 mph and they die, nascar will cease to exist in the following years.
Ross races 110% all the time. This sport would be more if everyone did this. hanging back for 490 miles is a waste of time. Like it or not Ross is exciting to watch something this sport needs.
Don't forget Ross jumped the restart, and it was overshadowed by true jr wreck.
Larson spun his tires and had a horrible restart, doesn't mean Chastain gets penalized!
A Fox Sports Bet Stage 2 question should be "How many cars will Ross take out this week?"
Yo Denny , What the hell are on your feet? Don't let your partner see this.... WHAT ARE THOSE!🤣
Curious to know whether Larson still "loves" chastain like he said he did this last week after this race this weekend......i bet i know the amswer lol
Denny, give Chastain a Noah Gragson or a Big hug..look it, Chastain has his style of driving and that's that period over done with it 👊💪🏁
I love watching Ross go to the upset rescue guys
Ross was going into that wall even if Larson was not there. This is a case of crashing and taking a bunch of other people with you.
Denny just explained to you Kyle came down on Ross, with Ross father out front when they hit turns the lead car into the wall right across the nose of the other car! Neither did it "on purpose," but the hard racing and not giving each other any extra space, with wins meaning much much more than regular season points, this is the result NASCAR is after and the results you get!
Ross Chastain is a NASCAR driver...call him great if you will (his win total says otherwise), but Ross is NOT a NASCAR RACER...there is a difference between a driver and a true racer. Jimmie Johnson said when he retired from NASCAR he wanted to be known by his fellow competitors and fans as a RACER. HUGE DIFFERENCE.
