    14:10 Ty cut a school bus, flipped them the bird, parked sideways taking 4 handicap parking spots, closed the door on an older lady with a handful of bags, grabbed the last jar of jam that someone needed to make school cookies and stole a babys lolipop... It seems like Ty doesn't have his own identity yet. Most of us didn't at 19. However, I think Ty going to Cup next year may be the beginning of the end for JGR. As a fan, I am already jumping ship to RCR to follow my driver, but all indications point to this being a disaster. Denny Hamlin said it best in his tweet: "I miss J.D."

    • @joelcheek3494
      @joelcheek3494 Год назад +6

      The beginning of the end at JGR under the current leadership may have already occurred. JGR is in a tight box. Poor judgement by the principals put Ty in the driver's seat (nepotism). Poor leadership resulted in a failure to get Ty on the right path before he made a move that SEVERELY damaged both his career and JGR's prospects for the future. If they keep him, they will lose fans, sponsors, drivers, and crew members because no one will want to be identified with Ty and the team or work in that environment. But, as a member of the family and a driver with great talent, how can they dump him? JGR loses either way.

Just a matter of time he'll do it again. But I like your take, demote back to go-carts, and let's try progressing again from there. Maybe a second time around he'd appreciate the opportunity instead of "expect" it all to be handed to him.
      He has taken "entitled " to a whole new level.
      I'm old school fan from the 70's. I remember the concern about Bobby Hillin being "entitled" at 18yrs old driving in Cup (1982 or so) for the deep pocket Stavola Brothers with next to none experience, and the old guard was worried he'd be a danger to himself and others. Nothing back in the day comes remotely close to the clown show nascar has become, in all three top series with so many selfish clowns causing so many issues.

      If I was a nascar driver I wouldn't want no teammate. I wouldn't want to be like oh I can't do this move because my teammate is right there.
      Or I can't do the bumper run like Jeff Gordon or Jeremy Mayfield because my teammate is right there and he might get collected in the wreak. You are restricted when you have a teammate on a race track it makes no sense.

    I love Steve ! He helped me and my family get on the elevator in Martinsville. I’m on oxygen and waiting for a lung transplant and they were giving me a hard time about riding the elevator. He walked up and asked what the problem was and when we explained he said just come with me.
    I messed up though, I asked to take his picture and he said sure and I did! I should have taken my picture with him. I love him, and grateful appreciated him that day.

      Now, that doesn't mean he can't park himself in front of the 54 all day and just hold him up when it matters most

    Ty took that comment out of context to rationalize his being a bad teammate and winning the race by any means necessary. Like Steve said: his family name is on the building so if it's not internally and externally handled quickly and correctly, JGR will have some serious perception problems to overcome for a long time.
