Great interview, Thanks Ricky for sharing your story about what happened. I followed your Super Cross events and cheered for every win. Your announcing for that venue was alway top notch.
Here’s how it goes: RC is the goat of dirt bike racing. McGrath is the king of Supercross. JS7 is the fastest man to ever race a dirt bike. And Pastrana is the all around most talented dirt bike rider.
How TF does Davis not know about the Ginn deal? That's one of the most infamous implosions in NASCAR. It affected Joe Nemechek's and Sterling Marlins careers, affected Regan Smith in the Busch Series. Joe at least wound up in the 78. Sterlings career was pretty much toast, and Regan at least got lucky with DEI after they absorbed the 01 from Ginn, and Mark went from the 01 to the 8.
Ricky is the definition of humble! True champion indeed! I remember being SO stoked when he came into the truck series. Thought with the right equipment under him. He could’ve had some great runs.
I was racing MX in Florida back in the early nineties. Seeing young Ricky going absolutely bonkers fast on a KX80. Amazing where his career went from those early days.
I met Ricky at a Camping World/Truck series event in Nashville. Such a nice guy, he was so good with my young nephews at the time. (Bayne, Braun, and a few others)
I really enjoy listening to junior and his buddies talk the bs. Racing ran deep in my family time keeps on a rolling and now there all gone junior is the last from the golden age of Nascar reminds me of the old days rip #3
Ricky, you have a great attitude and very humble. Anyone owner would be lucky to have you drive for them. It’s really sad to see how good drivers are treated. I’ve always thought Kasey was totally screwed. Of course that’s my opinion, and I always thought Kasey was a Great driver.
I was hoping RC would have talked more about his Turner Motorsports days. And having Steve’s son in law as a teammate. James Buescher vanished shortly after the team folded. Chris Buescher has maintained a cup ride and never had the resources that James had.
I like Ricky, probably because I grew up racing motocross like he did. Unfortunately when I was 16 I broke my back so that ended Motocross. Later I got a modified but that didn't last long because of money. Trying to get back in a car now, maybe monster would help me out? "Never too old to be a monster" 🙂
I liked watching Ricky run, he was a consistent driver. Was watching him at Dover one year and he hit the wall in turns 3 and 4 so hard it sounded like a bomb went off. We were surprised to see him get out and wave to the crowd like nothing happened. Amazing guy.
The separation of expectations would be a cool aspect for a video game if a company could make one that wasn’t atrocious. Meet the owner expectations for a multi year deal or sponsor expectations and you could have sponsorship anywhere
It's great to have a sponsor like Monster but in the end, your ability to win hinges on your sponsors, not your ability. This applies across the board with anything mechanical. Unfortunately, someone with lots of talent and no sponsors does not get a chance to display his talents. This is why Ricky's career ended.....money!
First time that I ever heard the word goat used. But in Ricky's case it was accurate. Always thought a MXer would do better in 4 wheel racecars on dirt though.
If Hornaday didn't wreck Kyle in Xfinity the truck incident nvr happens. Hornaday cost Kyle a Championship, & Kyle isn't Dennis hamlin he doesn't fake threaten he pays back old school!!!!
Kurt will reap all the angst and negative connotation he has sown with humbling breaths of air the likes of which he's never been forced to choke on. Just another disconnected crybaby.
Didn't Kurt get fired for flipping the bird at the President of the United States' wife at Homestead before the race, the First Lady of the United States of America?...wtf That's Kurt Busch...lmfao!
Seriously dude? You need help. No driver gets karma from a concussion because of an incident that happened over a decade ago. He got his karma driving for Phoenix Racing. Clown ass
You gotta love Ricky's attitude he holds no grudges at all. A champion in his own right!
Can't bad mouth sponsors never know when there gonna throw money at u to do something..
A champion he’s the goat not just a champion,a multi time champ In every class of motocross and supercross
The greatest motocross rider of all time!!!! Not in his own right. He is the GOAT
Ricky is a genuine, cool guy.

What a great interview. Congrats to all 3 of you.
love the honesty of these interviews
The baddest man to ever get on dirt bike 🐐

I'm guessing Mike probably knows the deal. Might be digging harder for answers for newer fans. I've noticed he does that sometimes.
He probably asked the question to information new fans
Actually Joe won for that team Fall Kansas Race.
Thank you for this interview.
RC was the first sportsman that I remember being labeled as what is now the most cliche and overused phrase in sports: GOAT
Id argue tiger woods had it first. But as far as motor sports go. Definitely.
Ricky Carmichael trying out NASCAR was actually really sick. I remember always cheering for him in those truck races
And compared to Pastrana, he had a much better run.
@@SamuelDuplessis12 But Pastrana was much faster on 2 wheels ,, RC was the nastiest / dirtiest rider on the track
Ricky is the definition of humble! True champion indeed! I remember being SO stoked when he came into the truck series. Thought with the right equipment under him. He could’ve had some great runs.
Nice to see rob Dyrdek talk about his ventures after skateboarding lol

RC GOAT in Motorcross when you combine his Outdoor dominance w/his still amazing SX series GOAT! nobody is even close!
I was hoping RC would have talked more about his Turner Motorsports days. And having Steve’s son in law as a teammate. James Buescher vanished shortly after the team folded. Chris Buescher has maintained a cup ride and never had the resources that James had.
awesome story
Watching Carmichael dethrone McGrath back in the day was awesome!
Used to drive by and see Ricky flying over jumps way over my head as we drove by. We knew he would make it big even then.
What I think is some great insight
I was always under the impression that Ricky lost interest after his big crash at Dover. Interesting interview.
How does monster go from not wanting to spend for Khi trucks to full Busch series and Winston cup??
I’m guessing a vastly different ROI
Ricky is a humble man
its amazing how much Ricky and Rob Dyrdek look so much alike

Ricky the original GOAT.

Ricky Carmichael for Project 91 come on trackhouse!!!
Wait when did he race other than mx
First time that I ever heard the word goat used. But in Ricky's case it was accurate. Always thought a MXer would do better in 4 wheel racecars on dirt though.
Deegan and Pastrana
Someone needs to put RC in a midget for the Chili Bowl
I know Ricky said he's done racing, but what if Junior Motorsports worked out a deal for Ricky to get back into the Xfinity series for like two races?
If those Busch bro's could of behaved themselves, Ricky Carmichael's career could of been drastically different. Damn.
If Hornaday didn't wreck Kyle in Xfinity the truck incident nvr happens. Hornaday cost Kyle a Championship, & Kyle isn't Dennis hamlin he doesn't fake threaten he pays back old school!!!!
Honestly Dale, you should put Ricky in one of your cars for a one off
Too bad thought he had the talent just not enough time
Never knew that was it
Baldwin is on Door Bumper #10
How about a 1 race deal in the Xfinity car? Give him a top car to go have fun!!
He should have went back to Schrader and seen if they could put something together.
It's never too late to try again...Ricky.
I would like to see him do a partial races in the 88
This seems like a rerun
It is, they are doing Top Ten interviews of the past year.
I thought #9 was Tommy Baldwin?
Too bad it didn't work out at KBM and we could have seen how he stacked up.

Fun fact...Deegan was the first Monster athlete

but god DAMN he never grokked stock cars.
I do think Kurt's career ended the way it did because of karma over how many years he acted like that to fans and Dr Jerry Punch
