Last time my mobile network operator tried something like this (we send you SMS blah blah blah), I demanded proof that they send this SMS. In less than 12 hours money was back in my account. Most of the time it's inside job, not some random scammer.
I'd be calling your phone provider about if the number had been ported and how it was authorised. I've never known the money to not be returned by the bank quickly, so hopefully that happens for you.
I work in Cyber Security. It's crazy how much stuff you see happening every few minutes, the methods we can deploy to exploit vulnerabilities people think do not even know about is scary. And regards to information, it's really easy.. dont feel stupid, or belittled by it. Hopefully, you'll be able to recover your loss
It could be a sim swap. They social engineer your phone company with a BS story about how theyre you, but your phone got damaged and they need this new sim activated. This has gotten a lot of people popped. An authenticator such as authy is a lot more reliable than sms for mfa.
Along with all the other comments.... I had a couple bits of fraud over the past 7 or 8 years. The most recent one (all in America, so idk how different it is overseas), the bank said they'd start their investigation AND they gave me a credit of the stolen amount while the investigation was conducted. I'd expect something similar OR for it to be resolved before Monday. Especially if it was so blatantly theft. Hope your mental is better today.
London has so many cameras there’s no way The perpetrator is it on video tell me you’re going. I don’t know how banking works in England, but by the end of the month that guy should be on charges.
No words expressed can convey how much I feel for you. It’s a situation in the modern day that simple should not be able to happen. I truely hope it’s resolved quickly and you can move forward stress free ❤
I got hit like this, but from new york, and I live in Sweden. Thankfully my bank shut my account down immediately since none of my previous purchase was outside of Sweden. Sucked to not have a card for 1 week but better then losing money.
Is there a level of fraud protection available to you? This happened to me very long ago...and I was the accountant. Ever since then I analyze all transactions daily and tag anything suspicious. Even if it turns out to be legit.
Thought the title was click bait, but no. Sorry to hear all of this, it really sucks. Being scammed isn't fun; in my experience it hurts your pride most of all. But that's a lot of money, and I also hate to think of you not being able to meet your business financial commitments - Joe's salary, rent. Since I'm watching this late, I'm hoping it's on the way to be sorted by now.

For Sir Al Go Rythm.
I want to make scammers disappear, permanently.

Sorry this happened to you big fella, the emperor protects!
I wanna see video of that who is getting in the tumble dryer. That is channel Gold.
If you don't use the card for anything, do you keep it in your wallet?
Could have been scanned by RFID, by someone you were near to

Sorry to hear dude. Scammers are disgusting
oO, did you let Valrak close to your bank account?
It may not be your card. They could have compromised your phone and got your passwords, look up sim cloning etc
Did you go someplace and they skim your card?
if the transaction is still pending, can you not just transfer all the money out so the transaction fails?
