    For clarification I don’t think I mentioned this in the video but the Warlock Conclave is losing its character keyword upon codex release which would fix the issue with attaching units.

    • @MrThepatriot30

      So without the character keyword you can attach this unit as leader even if a character is leading this unit ?

    • @ProxyHammer1

      Difference is, even if they remove the character keyword, the conclave, unlike the support weapon platforms, is still a “leader” unit that can to attached to another unit. So unlike the support weapon platform they are still affected by any rules and restrictions regarding the leader/attached/bodyguard rules. Unless they also removed leader section in the conclave’s data card and replaced it with another ability like the support weapon platform’s.

    One point for the unit in spirit conclave: since warlocks aren’t characters, you can assign 2 wounds to a warlock conclave member and get the +1 hit and wound vengeful token on a hard enemy target.
    I think the single warlock is too expensive right now, leave him out unless he drops to 30-35 points. -2 charge and one more flamer doesn’t feel like 45 points.

      @ ya I think one of these blobs has value in any detachment as it’s a bit of a jack of all trades, decent overwatch, wounds anything at least a few times with some mass shooting, fade back for free gives nice mobility. Can also leave out a support weapon and the single warlock to bring the cost into the 200s. It attracts the blast indirect but the -1 wound and cover etc make it pretty durable against most indirect. Rather take indirect on guardians over my aspects.

  • @theophrastusbomblastus821
    @theophrastusbomblastus821 2 дня назад +2

    I too am going with seer council as I have always liked the footlocks and have wanted to play them again since they were made nonviable editions ago. When eldar psykers were a bonified melee threat 20+ years ago warlocks were just great. Also, at 30$ per lock and being purchased only in twos it will take about 500$ in locks alone to build this army so I don't see any nerfs to this detachment coming any time soon. But mainly the detachment looks like a lot of fun which is important when playing a losing army with a crap army rule and punishing unjust points costs. The solution to this awful codex might be an obvious and flavorful one. Just let strike force and larger lists field the avatar of khaine for free with the added caveat rule that, "If not within engagement range of any enemy models this model must move up to its full movement distance towards the closest visible enemy unit in its movement phase. If during the charge phase there are any enemy units within 12" this model must charge the closest enemy unit. If multiple units can be charged the model may choose to do so, so long as the closest enemy unit is among the charge targets." The avatar isn't worth his published or leaked points costs considering the nerf(s) and mechanically aligns with only one detachment, the aspect host which is arguably the most starved for points given its reliance on the overpriced phoenix lords. Thematically, every craftworld army brings the avatar when it goes to war so the fluff is there and any opponent will know what to expect and easily be able to plan accordingly. If points costs for most of the units across the board were reduced giving say, 150 more points of design space, abusive lists "could" possibly emerge, so even at twice that the avatar would be less impactful considering his presence in craftworld lists would be ubiquitous and expected, ie he could in many cases just be kited off to some unexciting sector of the board. In addition to softening the blow of this subpar codex's inability to compete in the 100vp meta, this unorthodox solution would sell an awful lot of avatar kits of which there are no doubt many collecting dust in the GW warehouses.

    I was very looking forward to seeing you expand on your excitement for seer council and I must say, as ever, it seem you were onto something about "seer council being top detachment in new codex". But as impressed as I am I'm still a bit confused about your conclusion => since this deathstar is all about control, and we lost if not all, many capabilities to actually occuppy the board (avatar nerfed, wraithknight still too pricy outside of wraith detachment), and you say yourself "this combo in seer council is NOT about killing everything by turn 2", and with just one of theses you already commit 1/4 of your points to one big thing that can't occupy mid board, can't attack alone, can't show itself too early, can't move undefended
    => so with what do you pair it? With what do you defend it without paying half your point to justify one good combo? And most importantly, since I'm not supposed to use this as I would 5 swooping hawks/6 windriders, can't use it as a bully unit => why, still in seer council (so not the aspect detachmnent synergy BUT with the awesome movement and survivability granted by nearby psykers that don't have to be in big 400 pts units), am I not choosing 10 dire avengers and asurmen in a wave serpent, or 5 fire dragons and fuegan in falcon, or 10 banshees and jain zhar etc... over this ?
    I feel like I'm paying more to do the same thing as aspect warrior detachmnent here, and must adhere to a playstyle heavily punished by IG arti spam, and as you said, HEAVY (emphasis on the heavy ie 4+ invul in some cases => necrons) vehicules which, point for point, are gonna sit on my deathstar like it's nothing ... where as aspect detachment with asurmen death ball and the new fuegan in fire dragon+falcon => protected AND dangerous to all AND mobile ... but most importantly, cheaper

      TLDR : But how exactly is new guardians+warlock better than new aspect+phoenix lords ? Even without taking aspect detachment and going seer council why bother with such highly costed and complicated combos when there SEEMS (the core of my interogation) to be cheaper and better options

    • @ProxyHammer1
      @ProxyHammer1  3 дня назад +1

      It’s important to keep in mind that all of the units you mentioned do not have the ability to absorb damage or control your opponent with Overwatch which is a key element to how this unit works.
      The other thing to note is that you are not using this unit in place of your strong damage dealing combos (Dragons, Asurman, avengers, bsnshees, etc) but alongside those units making this unit even harder to access.
      Also remember that seer council does not have any Strats that allow units to get back in transports once banshees make a charge or dragons light something up there is nothing that can protect them from getting shot a single time before using fade away and that can often spell doom for the unit.
      On the other hand if you push this unit forward and use it in conjunction with a hard hitting damage dealer like dire avengers your opponent’s options become very limited as they move up to deal with the avengers they are vulnerable to this units machinations next turn but if they try to handle this unit it’s going to be a tough prospect because of all the stratagem support and extra durability.
      As much as I love the ability to hop back in a serpent with avengers there are armies that are quick enough to get angles on a serpent behind a ruin, destroy it, then charged your now battle shocked unit inside who are unable to use Strats. If positioned correctly the conclave doesn’t have this issue as it will fade away then pop psychic shield immediately, plus being at -1 to wound helps it mitigate the initial damage. Aspect warriors will lose a lot of models in that first attack (5 Intercessors will kill half of them with ease).
      It’s about having options and this unit can be placed in many different ways depending on whatever you need them to do. A Swiss Army knife in an army of highly specialized tools.

      @ProxyHammer1 Attached Units with Multiple Characters (no more than two)
      Some models have rules that allow them to be attached to a specified unit even if another specified CHARACTER is already attached to that unit (e.g. Lieutenant models attaching to units already led by a Captain or Chapter Master). In all such cases, only one additional model with rules to this effect can be added to a unit already led by a different CHARACTER.

    • @ProxyHammer1
      @ProxyHammer1  2 дня назад +1

      @ Yes but the conclaves are losing the key word character. So that is what makes this possible. Also in the Core rules it states that a unit can never have more than one leader, but there are datasheets that allow you to break this and add multiple leaders to a unit. Your example of the LT for example or a warlock and a farseer in the Eldar Index. So, yes you can in fact have a Warlock, a Farseer/Eldrad (one or the other again the datasheets may RAW say otherwise but im sure this is an oversight), and a conclave as they are being FAQ to lose the character keyword and also are able to join a unit that also includes a farseer/warlock because of the farseer and warlocks own exception to the normal leader rules.

    Note: For the purposes of the above conditions, models in attached Leader units are ignored.

      @@pkslade5276 warlock conclaves are losing their character keyword and I think the leader ability and the support weapon also doesn’t have the leader ability it’s just called support artillery. But maybe they will FAQ so that the support weapons wounds don’t count also in which case ya I think you would be right.

    Help a returning player out. Can units combine/detatch mid game? For example after disembarking in T2? question for anyone. Also have a nice weekend.

    I hate guardians, up until now I have always just used corsairs as my battle line and have had great results although I don't know what the new setup if that's going to be possible

      Corsairs are still decent battle line they just don’t benefit from a lot of Eldar rules

    The following the the guardian detachment list Id love to see:
    4 war walkers
    4 vypers
    2x storm guardians
    2x defender guardians
    2x d cannons
    2x shadow weavers
    2x warlocks
    2x 10 man Dire avengers
    1x Asurman
    support weapons and warlocks attach to the guardians. Grab enhancement that gives inflitrate and the one that gives 4+ overwatch when on objective. ignore indirect and straight fire the support weapons.
    14 bright lances, d cannons hitting on 2s with AP -5. And tons of debuffs on enemies.
