Good work man. Just a little advice for sweating fittings on and doing any kind of soldering work. Flux, heat the part, move the flame away and let the heat of the part draw in the solder. Don't use it like brazing you'll have a much stronger connection with less risk of leaks.
@@coloradosean2005 Lead-free is ghastly stuff. I'm just hoping the lead solder I have is enough to get me through my days since I can't get my hands on any more where I live.
As usual, awesome work! Tat car is beautiful! Again, PLEASE make it road legal and take it to meets. If you run into overheating issues on raceday or something, make a shroud around the fan. If that doesn't work you have to add a row to the radiator ...
jonasbjork6593 I doubt he will ever be able to license that thing in California, emission standards can't be met and unless he can get some type of waiver he will never drive it on the street.
Hopefully it stays that cool with the bonnet/Hood covering the engine, They sell waterless coolant that is ment to runs quite abit cooler than water if needed👍🏻
@@wilburfinnigan2142 I'd just buy an old rotted out junk car with a clean title and put the vin on it. Just so you can get plates for it. Anyone asks its just heavily modded. Really unless you're being an absolute idiot there is no reason you'd get in trouble. I once got pulled over in a newer F350 for speeding, had just bought it so I had tags from a 2005 expedition we had. Cop literally did not care, didn't even mention it. Not much difference between this and all those countless beetles and fieros kitcars.
Glad to have you back on the Speedster! That hole on the filler cap is perfect for expansion tank line. The fuel filter cap can be fixed with some lead/solder and either lathe or drill press and rotating table. Those diagonals were very nice touch. Also an honorable mention on the grommet for the fuel hose. Top notch! The expansion tank is a better choice than just an overflow tank, it keeps the system filled and slightly pressurized. This pressure takes out micro bubbles making the system more efficient and less maintenance.
Great to see more on this beauty. As an ex-Jaguar engineer you might want to repeat the testing with the bonnet etc fitted as they'll make a nice toasty foil blanket for the engine!
I’ve been following this project from the beginning, and I was JUST thinking about how I hadn’t seen an update in a long time. Ty for continuing this project and filming it for us all to see.
One of THE coolest builds on RUclips. Fabulous attention to detail and the fact that it’s truly hand fabricated and not just a glorified bolt-on mash-up is what makes it top tier. Wish I had been this resourceful and skilled at your age.
My Monday morning just turned into an amazing start to the day once I saw you have a new video . Keep up the great work , I can't wait for the day it's registered for the road
Welcome back, your videos are the best! Glad to hear you have your speedster with you so you can work on it more, hopefully that means we get to see more of your work!
That's Exactly The Answer!!! He Had The Idle Ser High!!! Over 1000 RPMs When He Turned It Off!!! Most Think It's Timing Vut It's Not!!! It's Idle Speed!!! Keep Rocking It Out Brother!!!
Oh my gosh! The man, the myth, the MacroMachines LEGEND has returned! 🎉 Like many others here have already commented, I too, am pleased to see you back and still committed to your Speedster. I had actually checked in on your channel sometime between Christmas and New Year's, and then earlier this past week, thinking that perhaps you may have uploaded something new at that time, found nothing, and then got a little worried. It's good to hear that you've now got the car with you in California and that you will be able to resume work on it there. Now more than ever, I'm in need of uplifting, inspirational displays of creativity/ingenuity that will in turn, hopefully prompt me to earnestly resume taking on my own projects, and I'm probably not alone in that regard. As always, I'll be looking forward to your next uploads on this, or any other similar projects you're taking on in your (presumably increasingly limited) spare time, and thanks for taking us all along for the ride!
The dieseling you encountered might be the carbs needing a tune or your ignition needing to be a few degrees more advanced. Other things can cause it, too. Great video!
The Dieseling Is Caused By The Idle Being Too High!!! Not Timing Nor Carb Adjustment Other Than The Idle!!! Over 40 Years Of Being A Tune-up And Drivablity Technician!!!
So stoked to see you and your speedster back! Hope you're doing well after the big move, bet if feels better having the car with you now. Keep up the great work dude!
Good to see you back , hoping for more videos finishing the beautiful speedster ! You inspired me to build my own , finished now and has been on the road, now totally dismantled for final build up and detailing
@18wheeler77 You Can Believe What You Want But You Will Be Wrong!!! I Have Close To 40 Years Doing Tune-up And Drivablity For A Living And This Was One Of The First Things I Learned About Carbed Engine's!!! Yeah I Started Back When Everything Had A Carb!!! He Had The Idle Set At 1000 RPM When The Ignition Was Turned Off!!! That Will Induce A Run On Condition!!! It's NEVER Timing And Most Definitely NOT Octane!!!
@18wheeler77 I Told You The Correct Answer To The Problem But You Come Back With "I Believes And Maybes" Instead Of Listening To Someone Who Identified The Problem And Shared The Answer With You!!! Instead Of Telling Me To "Settle Down" How About Learning Something and Say Thanks For The Info!!! How About That!!!
Excellent progress update, glad to see you back! I'm in the process of doing the same thing with an aluminum radiator to use as a heat exchanger for a supercharger.
I was skimming through my RUclips subscriptions a few days back and saw your channel and thought I would like to see what’s up with the Speedster. Done! 😎👍🏼👍🏼
Great job. Word of advice for your fuel lines. Add a bubble at the end of you tubing to ensure a good seal with the fuel hose. The easiest way to do it is with a brake line double flare kit. Use the correct adapter to create the bubble at the end of the line and skip the final step of pressing the cone of the arbor into the fuel line.
Wow, amazing how time flies! You’re leaving a lot of opportunity on the table by not updating on a frequent basis. Lots of untapped potential which I’m sure has propelled your career. Great to see you back
So good to see you (and the speedster) back.
Hard to believe I've been following this build for 6 years and still eagerly waiting for the next video!

Always wipe the joints… looks better, and you can see any potential leak areas.. been sweating copper for 50 years..
@@saltbeltupstateny4857 exactly
Solid advice. I also agree with the wipe joints. A little lead in the solder would also help. Looks like you are using lead free.

That's going to be one of the sweetest rides when it's done. I foresee an episode of Jay Leno's garage featuring the beauty.

Those Jaguar exhaust headers tend to rust and would look great with heat proof black powdercoat. Great to see you back fabricating cool stuff.
I told you we would be here when you came back! 😊
Will be great to continue to follow the progress.
I'm so glad you're back! Hope things are going well!
Nice work. Nice video too - no distractions, good commentary, well filmed and edited. Cheers from France.
You are an artist! Amazing job you've done. Good to see you back working on the car.
