- The day is here! Join us for our moving journey from New York to Orlando, Florida! Moving to Florida is something we always wanted to do and now, we're officially Florida residents! We split our trip into two days, stopping in Florence, South Carolina for the night. The drive wasn't too bad and stopping along the way definitely helped. Once we arrived at the house, our pod from 1-800-Pack Rat arrived and we started to bring some smaller items inside. The next day, we hired help to unload the pod and there were SO many boxes to unpack! Little by little, we're unpacking and have made great progress to this point. Bunny, our cat, loves his new home and is adjusting quite well! We'll keep you updated with how things are going in the coming weeks.

My parents moved from New York to Florida 30 years ago now, and they still love it to this day.

You are lucky you are newlyweds, my wife and I were in our first house for 34 years, you just can’t believe how much “STUFF” you accumulate in 34 years of marriage. You kitchen looks great, I can’t wait for the house tour. Enjoy your new home and I hope Bunny gets acclimated to the her new home.

My parents said the same thing about moving with their little dog, they felt so bad they were confusing her with all the hotels and long roadtrip! Congratulations, we ended up buying a new build in. Clermont instead of Horizons West. We hope to be moving early next spring. We currently live in Massachusetts and can’t wait to leave !

Yeah, if you are going to live in Orlando, you're going to need a Sun Pass. It's hard to get to the airport without using a toll road. To be fair, I4 is a complete mess so I don't mind paying the fees as much. Welcome to Orlando. I have lived here for about 10 years - in Florida for about 12 (lived in Jacksonville before Orlando). I really like the weather and love no state income tax!

I'm originally from New Jersey and my fiance and I took that long drive to move here to Orlando a little over a month ago and boy it was a very long trip and very emotional. We did the full 17 hours without sleep and it was very emotional leaving my family behind. Our car looked just like yours with our sweet Bella girl(dog) stuffed in the back too. So glad you had a safe drive and welcome to Florida. We welcome you with open arms🤗

I take pictures of state signs as we travel. Actually, I take photos of everything. Traffic will hit in FLorida.
I hope my wife and I can move there soon. We were looking last year and it just wasn't time yet. We live near Harrisburg pa, so not far from you guys. Did you take i95 the whole way, or did you take 81 part of the way? Also what part of Orlando did you move? My stepbrother lives in Minneola and it's booming like lake Nona and other Orlando suburbs.
We hope so too! We took 95 down the whole way (mostly). We’re in Clermont, another area that has boomed so much in the last year or so.

Congrats! When it comes time for you walkthroughs, make sure you document EVERYTHING. Dealing with warranty has been a mess, but luckily, our home didn’t have as many issues as a lot of our neighbors. People by us have been dealing with termites, flooding, water under the tiles, etc. it’s been a nightmare over here in our community.
@@MattAndAlexVlogs Thanks. Yes walk through and being there with the inspectors during construction will help. Are you in central Orlando or more like Clearmont area? And has anyone said where flooding comes from? I was gonna put down wood and I'll be in the hills of Minneola.

Thank you! We did stop in Florence, SC for a night. We stayed at a Home 2 Suites, right off of 95.

Fun Times, New Adventures. How many square feet is the new Home? Bigger or smaller, then what you had before? I've been looking at Homes around WDW, too.
Fun times, indeed! We weren’t in a house before, so this is a lot more space than what we previously were living in! Definitely a place we’ll be at for many years to come 👍🏻
I have to ask, how did Bunny make out with the litter box in her carrier? Did you have to get Bunny and sedatives for the trip?
He didn’t use the litter box in the car at all, he just laid down the whole way. We didn’t get any prescriptions from the vet for him, but we got him CBD treats and oil, which worked wonders

All about what people prefer. We’re in a smaller city within Orlando, so it’s the best of both worlds!

Orlando is not a good place to live... it's nice in the beginning because you think it's disney but it's not..you guys should move to Naples ft Myers Clearwater or south FL. ORLANDO IS. BAD...

You guys did great choosing Clermont just outside of Orlando, which is great because you get that residential vibe in Clermont and the city vibe and theme parks just a few minutes away in Orlando. Excellent choice. 👌
