Great review of your year. We just passed our year, and we love it. Very similar feelings as to you guys with everything. The experiences changed and the theme parks have become much more relaxing when we are not in a rush.
I remember when you both moved around the same time my fiance and I moved to Orlando. While it's so hard being without my family in New Jersey it does take a big weight off our shoulders that visiting the parks now is so much more relaxed and we don't ever need to rush or put off planning to vacation to the parks. And even better now we get to visit them with our daughter who is nearing 8 months and loves all the theme parks. We are where we belong, its just taking me alot more time becoming comfortable being away from my family.
@@MattAndAlexVlogs I am. There's a sense of belonging here for me. Especially when I'm at the parks. I never really felt that back home and I don't really want to lose that feeling.
Hello, thanks for sharing your experience. My family and I planning to relocate to Orlando by end of this month, but I still have lots of concerns regarding finding jobs that covers those high cost of living there, what do you think about job market in Orlando? And do you think that is it is the right move for someone to go there without a job lined up? Thanks
Thanks for watching! The job market depends on what your line of work is. There’s a lot of opportunities in healthcare, education and tech right now. You’ll have to decide what is best for you and your family in terms of when to move/having a job lined up. Good luck!
Why r u in a dark room in sunny FL? Anyway, can u talk about your experience with home insurance, everyday life, car insurance, picking your home, etc.
Filmed this at night! We have videos out about our home build process, feel free to check those out if you wish. Maybe we’ll do a part 2 to this to dive a little deeper into some of what you mentioned.
What type of remote jobs are available? What about the cost of living compared to New York and New Jersey? Salary, Real Estate, Groceries, Utilities, Insurance, etc.
The types of remote jobs vary by industry. I would suggest searching for remote work in your particular industry to see if that would be an option. As for the rest, it all depends on where you end up living within central Florida/Orlando. Certain areas are more pricey than others, so when it comes to home prices/taxes, it’s all relative to where you choose to live. Given the current state of the country and inflation, cost of living is up across the board. Groceries and what not are just as expensive here as they are back where we’re from.
@MattAndAlexVlogs Thanks. Did you guys get remote jobs after you moved or before? Some companies pay differently according to the state. If you had jobs before and decided to move, did your salaries change? Overall, are you doing better financially in Florida with no state tax and other cost of living decreases compared to New York?
Selfishly I wish you would come back north but it’s fun to visit as often as possible (one of these days I’ll actually make it to your house!). Omg Hi Bunny! True VIP of the video 😍
Hey guys good video, congrats and good luck. I'm traveling this spring to visit Orlando area. Me and my wife want to move down there. My question is, I know you guys have not kids yet, we have a 3 years old baby and we're looking for the good elementary schools? We are bouth from NYC area and we love the warm weather, the reason to move.
Thanks for watching! I would do your own research, but Seminole and Orange County have two of the better public school districts in the area. It all depends on where exactly you want to live, as Seminole County could be pretty far away from certain things within Orlando.
So funny, we were trying to figure out how to get our cats down there when we move and I got 2 of those playpen types things. Glad to hear they worked for you guys!
I love your content… you are some of the last Disney Vloggers I watch. But NOTHING will ever bring me or my money to Florida right now. I will continue to support you 2 and the others that are brave enough to live in that “state”.
If you’re from Jax and been in North Carolina(which I lived). I can say it’s only good to visit but not move permanently. It’s not really a culture for anyone to thrive in. It’s mainly just service industry jobs that are retail and restaurants. It’s not any substance or entertainment besides downtown Orlando which you can easily get lost in because it’s not too many cultural options for different types of entertainment. If you go check out a few pros and cons video about Orlando, most are pretty factual. Good luck!
I feel like anyone moving to ORLANDO is because of Disney.... Not saying that is good or bad, it just is... I am having a family and I immediately thought, "I should buy something in Orlando" only because I'm thinking of my children... Other than that if you don't have children I don't know of it makes that's much sense unless you are buying to Airbnb
False 👎🏻 you couldn’t be farther from the truth I know a lot of people that moved to Florida for many different reasons one for health reasons two cheaper living options three employment opportunities so no it’s not all about Disney and everyone I’ve talked to could give a rats ass about Disney one told me will never ever set foot in there way too expensive
Hello. Just discovered your channel unsubscribe after watching only half the video so far.. every time I try to finish, I get bothered by something or someone.. I absolutely love how you engage with answering the questions from your subscribers.. I have a wife and four expensive girls. LOL my wife and I are planning on moving to Orlando next year but to be completely honest, its pretty intimidating.. all I keep hearing from other people is how expensive it is and that alongside the worry of hurricanes will make me regret it.. I know you probably have already addressed this and one of your videos which I will continue to watch several, but can you please tell me if it's really as expensive as everyone is saying and is there a huge concern about the hurricanes. I know that Florida does get them but is it so bad to wear it's not worth moving.. my wife and I currently run a in-home daycare and we obviously know moving to another state we will have to start over.. alongside the daycare, I do gig apps on the side such as doordash, uber and lyft.. I know you don't know me, but judging from that small info, what will be your thoughts on this intimidating but exciting decision for my family and I.. any advice is appreciated. Banks in advance
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! It’s definitely gotten more expensive than it was a few years ago, but it’s hard to determine what expensive means to you, as that’s solely based on your budget, etc. hurricanes are not a huge concern, as central FL rarely sees anything major. If you were to move closer to the water, then that would be a bigger concern. We wish you the best on whatever decision you make!
My one year here in Orlando is this month - it does pass very fast! I am curious what 2 pizza places here you like? I haven’t found a place I absolutely love yet! 🍕
That’s great! Mamarita’s in Groveland is excellent. Calabria (Clermont) is very good as well, as is Pizza Bruno (College Park). Still on the hunt for some more 🍕
I appreciate your video but it's hard to listen to because the background is too loud relative to your voices. If I increase the volume, the background noise also becomes louder making it hard to hear what you're saying.

What Suburb are you in? I found 2 solid spots in Windermere for pizza. One is spot on Long Island pizza & other is coal fired type.
We’re not too far from there. What are the spots?

Love this. We're planning on moving down in about two years. We also have cats, so that spray and carrier recommendation would be lovely. Cheers❤🎉

I’m from Jax, FL. Currently in Charlotte, NC. We are thinking about moving to Orlando April 2025. Did you al find jobs before moving down?
I (Matt) work remotely, so I kept my same job and Alex found a new job once we moved down. Best of luck!

I heard the leaves change in the fall in Orlando too? 4:10
Slightly, but nothing like up north.
What town/community did you end up going with?
We built with Dream Finders Homes. Out of privacy, we don’t share the exact town that we purchased in. Thanks for watching!

That’s obviously a huge draw to the area, but definitely wasn’t the only reason we moved here. Plenty to do in Central FL outside of Disney!

There are "work from home" education jobs in Florida? I'm intrigued.
There are, but also check out of state companies that are remote!

Cedar fair counts your visits on the app. For Disney being so big surprised they don’t have that feature 😅
That would be cool if they did!
•Background noise (music)
•None talk about MEDICAL
•No one talks about Flood/Hurricane Insurances 😊
•Bugs/Snakes/Gators/ETs etc ?😮😅

Sorry about that
The worst pizza places are in Fl. I also noticed that trend in multiple Fl cities. They need some Italian fellas
You would think with as many people from the Tri-State area down here, there would be better pizza and Italian food 😂
Pie-fection pizza is above all else. Thank me later.
