I love that I actually get to be a part of her learning since she's here at home! We get to do science experiments which is Harper's favorite! I even get to do art with her! Homeschooling isn't always easy, but it is so rewarding! I wouldn't want it any other way!❤

Thank you! We’ve homeschooled with Bookshark for the last 4 years. Now that I’m working with 4 kids, we dipped our toes in with Abeka math (with the videos) and I’m so grateful we did. I may have to purchase those reader books to use this year too! 🤔😁
Harper gets super stressed when she is timed during lessons as well. I am still trying to figure out what works best for her on some things. Even though we have been doing school online for 3 years, there are still some bumps along the way

Abeka didn’t work for all my kids, but I’m still using their math for my first grader and I really like it for him. It’s definitely thorough and keeps them on track! Hope y’all have a great homeschool year! 💜

Glad it was helpful for you 😄 So if you choose the accredited program, they will keep track of it. You will have to send in progress reports. If you choose non accredited (which is what I do) then you have to keep track of that yourself. Then, depending on your state laws, you may need to give progress reports to your local school district. Mine requires homeschoolers to submit a progress report at the end of each school year. It just depends where you live. Hope that helps!

Just wanted to know how many hours a day it takes to do the daily work to stay on target I used time 4 learning last year for k5 but didn't care for it I'm also planning on having a tutor 1hr 3days a week I'm just so worried I won't be able to teach her to read
I’m going to use Abeka for the upcoming school year for my 1st grader and Kindergartener. Would you recommend the DVD’s as well or do you think it’s not necessary? Im just worried I won’t be able to give enough attention to each child. I have 4 kiddos, each are 1 year younger than the other.
Hi Mindy! Thanks for watching. So I personally have never used the DVDs so I can’t really speak on them but I know people RAVE about how great they are. I don’t find them necessary for me right now but everyone is different. The thing about the DVDs is that the teachers are teaching your child and you are guiding them through it. Without the DVDs, it’s just you teaching. So it’s really up to you. In your case with four kids so close in age, the DVDs might be a good option. But you could always start on your own and if you feel like you need the extra help, you could add on the DVDs after you get started. Hope that helps!

Hi! Go check out the Abeka website. They have two separate options. One for Christian schools (which is probably what you’ve seen) and one for homeschool 😃
I do not but I maybe could make one. It can be tricky but I usually have my 3rd grader do the things she can do independently (reading, handwriting, working on her spelling list, etc) while I do lessons with my 1st grader. Then switch. It works pretty well. Good luck!

Yes I joined a local group that does field trips to a lot of fun places. I also am in a couple local facebook groups where homeschool families can arrange play date and park meet ups and things like that for the kids to socialize 🤗

Yes! They don’t take too long. Depends on the day/subject material but we finish school for the day in about 2 hours for 1st grade 😃
