Hi, Tanya! I watched this again (probably for the fourth time now) and just wondered whether you've seen or would consider doing a flip-through/review of Singapore Dimensions Math for 1st Grade. I'd be so grateful if you would. 😊
My girl is finishing Abeka K5. She enjoyed the colorful pages as well. She’s older for K with a fall birthday. Foe fall 2021 we are considering the book here that you reviewed. But mental math is important to us too. I’d LOVE to know how you combine this with math mammoth or a diff mastery program to get the best of both worlds. Cuz I can see her using this Abeka book for practice and to her it’s fun. She loves to do the pages and moves quickly as well. Thanks if you can reply
We combined MM with Abeka for my middle child in 2nd as well, and it worked out nicely. For her, I paused MM and did Abeka until she started to feel more comfortable with straight arithmetic. Suddenly, the more theoretical side of things suddenly clicked and we went back to MM. For the youngest, we do a combo in real time of first grade Abeka and MM. Some days, we do MM (2 pages or so), and other days we do 3-4 pages of Abeka.
I just include pages from both each week, but I rarely do them on the same day. I don’t break it down by specific pages - we just keep moving forward with 2-4 math pages a day.

Hello. I am interested to see how you combine math mammoth and abeka. Please and thank you. We currently use math mammoth but I’m looking for something to add to it

Good evening ! My daughter will be entering first grade this upcoming school year we will be doing the parent led. I am having a problem understanding what u should order. I know she needs the student kit but I don't know if I need the essential parent kit or the complete parent kit?! Could someone help me with what you feel is best? I also see that neither parent kit comes with a language arts answer key do I need that or no?
I think that the parent kit is an excellent choice if you’re using this as your primary math curriculum. We used it as a supplement, so I only purchased the workbook.
Great question! The main reason is that these are a different change of pace style-wise. Both in appearance and theory. Abeka is much more spiral, with a few problems in a variety of topics on one page, and it is also very colorful, literal, and swift. MM is much more grounded in math theory and mastery style practice, and I love that as our base, but I wanted something lighter/spiral for our extra. Hope that made sense!
@@ProjectHappyHome yes that makes sense! I just ordered MM and I can see how a more "fun" workbook might be a nice add. However my son is NOT into worksheets so we will see how it goes. Maybe more hands on stuff if we need vs worksheets.
Did you happen to find any religious mentions on this particular edition? I'm looking for some colorful worksheet practice for my son and this looks perfect for him. Thanks so much for sharing!
Definitely not independent - the program is designed to be used with the teacher guide, but since we use it as a supplement, I don't. The student book does not include any instructional content - just practice problems. Hope that helps!

Unfortunately, I'm out of the first grade stage, but I'll ask Singapore if they'd consider sending me that level to review. :)
Thank you sharing! I really enjoy your flip throughs and reviews!
Thanks for the kind words!

Thank God 🙏🏼 for ABEKA 🙏🏼🙏🏼 my kids are closer to Christ ❤️
I’m glad it works for your family goals!
We are secular homeschool, we use abeka arithmetic. Its not at all religious. Will be interested to see your homeschool daily routine video.
Very helpful. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks!
Yes I’m interested in how you use both Abeka and Math Mammoth

You talked about the missing teaching text just as my brow was starting to furrow... Thank you! 😄

I know math mammoth has printable worksheets. Is there a reason you'd use Abeka as worksheets vs the MM printables?

I actually didn't find much beyond the intro poem. :)
Is this independent or do I need to teach
