This is true. All about perception. Perhaps with the exception of people that understand marketing and know a product well. They’re likely to look past this stuff with their decision, but most won’t.
Hi mate, Just in case you care about grammar, when referring to the actions of a company, the correct sentence would be "What has DJI done?". This is because a company is a singular thing. It can be confusing because a company is made up of multiple people, so we might think we should ask what they have done, but the company itself is a singular thing, so we ask what it has done, not what it have done, as per your thumbnail.
I don't feel this is an entry level mic as you suggest. This seems to be a stripped down version of the mic 2 that is aimed at those who want the same quality sound without the extra unused features.
Finding it sad that in every video showing the new mic mini it shows the whole case filled with the 2 connectors for connecting it to usb-c and lightning, but when you check what they are selling you its without the lightning plug and that cost a wopping 19euro. Really DJI??
Sound quality this is better than Mic 1, it sounds identical to Mic 2 as shown in video but yes Mic 2 with 32 Bit float and internal recording is better, depends what you need it for
It does have more body than the else micro, but that will depend a lot on the voice of the person using the mic - I have a bassy voice that makes the mic 2 sound muffled, but by placing it flower on my chest I get a fuller sound/more treble - placement plays a major part in the audio as well :)
The drop in audio quality when connecting via BT you have for the DJI Mini is not a problem for the Lark M2 as you always use the dongle. I agree the DJI Mini maybe better when you have it connected by the dongle plugged into your lightening or USB C port but otherwise I imagine the Lark M2 is superior.
A huge disappointment. In every review I've seen the audio is nowhere as good as its direct rivals (Rode Micro, Godox Cube, Lark M2). Definitely need a direct comparison.
@@anthonygadd295 I've watched every review I can find!!! Reviewers seem to be swooning over the Mini but to my ears the Rode Micro is just as good or better.

@@Richard_FitPkuInternal storage is primarily used by professionals and creators, I’ve never needed it on my Mic 2, it gives you more options in editing, similar to modifying a RAW camera file rather than a JPEG file…
There is talk that when using Bluetooth, the digital sampling rate is slashed from 48k to down to only 16k. That would mean that any audio frequencies about 8k are cut off. When switching back to 2.4ghz transmission, the sampling rate jumps back to 48k. Have you heard this yet?

Oh gee, really? I guess the Mic 2 wasn’t small enough! I bought the one, then got the pair, have 3 now, so I’m done! So the same only smaller! Thanks for the info!🇺🇸
If the mic mini can be purchased without getting the receiver and has no internal recording ability, where does it, and how does it save the recording? I’m assuming it has to be paired via Bluetooth to a device? If that’s the case? Can it be paired with all other non-DJI devices? P.S. I don’t use any Dji cameras, hence the question.
Hey I answered this in the video, it has to be connected to something which can store the recording
@@DMProductions Sorry, I'm not very tech-savvy, and I don't want to purchase it if it's only compatible with the brand name products.
So, will it connect to all cameras or devices with Bluetooth? It's not DJI only?

@@NanceDrew Thank you.
What about the Bluetooth function to an android phone.
Crappy, crappy audio quality just like on the mic 2 - BT audio will probably never be better for this generation until we get a new BT standard and codecs for higher audio quality for voice :/
Also: doesn’t support native cam app on neither android or ios :/
Just a suggestion. Never say CHEAPER, say , Less Expensive. People will think cheaper means sub standard product. Thanks for all your videos … All the best. Thank you
This is true. All about perception. Perhaps with the exception of people that understand marketing and know a product well. They’re likely to look past this stuff with their decision, but most won’t.
awesome
Hi mate,
Just in case you care about grammar, when referring to the actions of a company, the correct sentence would be "What has DJI done?". This is because a company is a singular thing. It can be confusing because a company is made up of multiple people, so we might think we should ask what they have done, but the company itself is a singular thing, so we ask what it has done, not what it have done, as per your thumbnail.
I prefer the mic 2.
Was very interested until I found out there is no internal recording or 32 bit. Still think it will sell like hotcakes.
Staying on hohem ;-)
👍👍
Assume the original DJI mic is better because of the internal storage?
Sound quality this is better than Mic 1, it sounds identical to Mic 2 as shown in video but yes Mic 2 with 32 Bit float and internal recording is better, depends what you need it for
Is it just me, or does it sound muffled? Too basey.
It does have more body than the else micro, but that will depend a lot on the voice of the person using the mic - I have a bassy voice that makes the mic 2 sound muffled, but by placing it flower on my chest I get a fuller sound/more treble - placement plays a major part in the audio as well :)
You’re the only one that mentions the limits too! Thanks for being honest
Yes you can
Why have DJI logo on the mic 🤦♂
Why not ?
Hi. What the better for iPhone specially? Hollyland lark m2 or this one ? Thanks
Both great, I think these have the edge for audio quality
The drop in audio quality when connecting via BT you have for the DJI Mini is not a problem for the Lark M2 as you always use the dongle.
I agree the DJI Mini maybe better when you have it connected by the dongle plugged into your lightening or USB C port but otherwise I imagine the Lark M2 is superior.
A huge disappointment. In every review I've seen the audio is nowhere as good as its direct rivals (Rode Micro, Godox Cube, Lark M2). Definitely need a direct comparison.
@@WillNewcombmay I ask where you got that opinion on the Rode Micro?
@@anthonygadd295 I've watched every review I can find!!! Reviewers seem to be swooning over the Mini but to my ears the Rode Micro is just as good or better.
I don't think you were anywhere close to 400 meters. That's a loop around a running track.
Range test! Range test!
Make a good short
As long as it doesn’t have internal recording, I’ll rather stay away.
Can you use the mic mini with the Mic 2 receiver ?
I was gonna ask the same , I will wait on you being answered
No apparently…
@@IanTed that's a pity , thanks.
A few of the influencers like Manning and AirPhotography says no. Which is a bummer since the Mic Mini transmitter can connect to existing receivers in the Pocket 3 or Action 5.
Pretty sure it’s just a matter of a firmware update. Give it about a month and DJi will take care of that.
no internal storage is a big let down thank god i dont have to sell my existing mics
Why is it a big let down. I'm still Learning about all Of this
@@Richard_FitPkuInternal storage is primarily used by professionals and creators, I’ve never needed it on my Mic 2, it gives you more options in editing, similar to modifying a RAW camera file rather than a JPEG file…
Thanks for replying @@IanTed
@@Richard_FitPku because you cannot use it standalone
@@IanTed also used without connecting it to anything
There is talk that when using Bluetooth, the digital sampling rate is slashed from 48k to down to only 16k. That would mean that any audio frequencies about 8k are cut off. When switching back to 2.4ghz transmission, the sampling rate jumps back to 48k. Have you heard this yet?
Its definitely lower quality over Bluetooth (unless your using the Osmo Pocket or Action 4/5).

Can I connect mini to my DJI mic 2 receiver?
Nope 👎 hopefully in an firmware update maybe
