your broken bolt just weld a nut to it might take a few tries but should do the trick
your refurb skills are unmatched 🔥
Thank you very much that means a lot 🙏🏻

Excellent build Scott! You just don't get to see Ferrari scud's being repaired at home on the drive on any other channel! Can't wait for the next episode!
Thanks 👍
Great work, can't wait to see this one come together.
Me neither
Matt Armstrong would have that whole scud sorted for £15
He told me a £tenner maximum !
@@Ratarossa pmsl
Yea then just raffle it!!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Doubt it brother, parts are parts whoever u are, unless u could find parts at a charity shop for a quid?😮👁👁👁😫🤔🤔
Great episode! That wheel refurb was outstanding, and your detective work to get the engine started was most impressive. Looking forward to the next instalment... but after a BBi update perhaps? 🙂
Thanks again!
Superb you have collected and stockpiled all these parts, and knowledge over the years! Pays massive dividends when it comes to fabulous projects like this
It really does .... those parts would be thousands £
@@Ratarossa Thoroughly enjoying this project, keep the films coming 👌
This is such a unique channel! Loving this 430 series already, can't wait for more!
Yay! Thank you!
I'd suggest left handed drill bits for the broken off stud, we use them in work all the time with a great deal of success
I think you'll fix this Scuderia way under budget!
Regarding the broken stud, easiest way is to center punch it and drill it out slowly with successively larger drill bits, then retap it. If you use reverse drill bits, it may pull out the stud in the process of drilling. If you do damage the original threads, can repair the thread using a time-sert. Wouldn't use an "easy-out" type remover, because they tend to snap, and they can't be drilled, have to be ground out. You'll be hating life if that happens.
Thanks buddy for the tip
I concur, do not use an "easy out". They are called hole fu(kers at my work😂
I usually weld a nut on, or if there’s space, some threaded bar stock. Nearly always avoid helicoils or additional damage.
I would weld a nut to the stud to remove it. The right man could repair that front fender, or wing as you call it.
I would highly recommend trying to weld a nut onto the broken spud and just screw it out, as already stated avoid drilling unless absolutely necessary
I'm SO into this one Scott, I think this will be EPIC!
Thanks buddy, glad you are enjoying it
@Ratarossa just don't take too much notice of Mat Armstrong...I really love his work, but a Scud with a Liberty Walk kit, and 2 foot wide alloys just doesn't work!
Makes me so happy that you ve revived this italian lady.
Absolutely awesome work sir.
Glad you enjoyed it
I’m a big fan of welding a nut to the broken stud. Saved me a few times on some of my builds!🤘🏻
I spotted oil at the front when you worked on the offside wheel. Will be interesting to see if the rack is broken or if the power steering cooler is torn off.
Smiles all round at 23:58, brilliant!
it was a good moment
I'll ignore the very end of the video and say that's a cracking result so far Scott. No chassis damage and runs as sweet as, good stuff mate.
Awesome, this is going to be such a great build !
May be worth giving Protech shocks in Wiltshire a call, they can custom build and repair Ferrari shocks......they might be able to help and they're only an hour from you.....
Thanks buddy, noted
Nice. This Scud is gonna look fantastic next to your Strad! You are amassing quite the collection, Scott. ✌🏻🇺🇸
Thank you kindly
This channel should have 2 MILLION SUBS!! Always love the content!!
Thanks so much for the kind comment .... one day i hope its true
The Scuderia needs more love! Great to see Scott keeping this one on the road
I totally agree buddy, its the underrated 1 of the 4 special models and I believe between you, me and Freddy we are about to change that.
Superb, very exciting, and I love that you already have the parts. I bet those shocks can be rebuilt !
You really know how to get the suspense going! I was holding my breath when you tried to start the Scud. So happy it started. Looking forward to finding out what's up with the steering. Fingers crossed it's not too bad. So far so good - great buy!
A great watch, the engine starting was a definite bonus.
I knew it! , you have alot of the missing parts already ...hehehe :) You got lucky on some very expensive parts.... that is great!!!
Bloody hell its like RataCrac Park around there.....🤣🤣
LOL
Nice one Scott!!!!Im looking forward to this one..... All the best mate🙏😊👍👌🇿🇦
Thanks 👍
I just hope and pray Sam is watching for all the educational values. LoL 👍 great presentation. Terrific problem solving.
Love this sort of video Scott, proper curbside spanner swinging ,great work 💪see you Saturday 😀
Thanks buddy, glad you enjoyed it and yes 100% all right on the curb side this one today
When it didn’t start, first thing I thought was “pyro fuse”… watching too much Mat Armstrong 😂
LOL
Great content as always - thanks!
Great find. So looking forward to the next episode!
More to come!
brilliant work!
Great episode. Your confidence and creativity never ceases to amaze me as you tackle issue after issue on these exotic machines. You definitely help demystify the Ferrari mystique- and that’s a good thing!
Re that strut - can you source just the shock? Reusing that spring should save a bundle if it’s possible. And if by chance the piston can be disassembled and straightened- that would truly be Christmas in April…🎉
Thanks for the kind words and suggestion on the shock
Your work is AWESOME! Enjoy it so much!
Thank you so much!
You got it started! Sounded mean too! One problem at a time and this thing will be rolling soon enough.
Thanks. Thats the plan dude, tackle one problem at a time and try to save money on each problem in the process
Great content Scott!!!!! You need to drill a hole in that wishbone stud & then turn it out with “reverse” bit!
Thanks Craig
Hey Scott, as for that broken off stud you can weld a nut to it and take it off that way. If you can't get a welder just buy some reverse drill bits and drill a hole in it. Sometimes it may just come out from using a reverse drill bit. If not after you drill the hole install an easy out and you should be able to get it out. I hope that helps. As for your shock, I'm sure the reason why it's expensive is because of the titanium spring. Obviously the spring looks like it's in good condition. Just replace the shock cartridge only. Just be careful when taking that spring off. It is under a lot of pressure and can kill you. Just use a spring compressor.
Can't wait for the next episode awesome 👍😎
thank you
Fantastic video 👍👍🙂
You can use a welder to biuld up the broken stud and then weld a nut to the stud. the heat will help release the stud from the inner wheel well. Then you can use a wrench to turn the nut and the broken stud wil come out. Does not alway work the first time as for the Hub, same thing. you will have to replace the stripped bolt but it is stripped so it is trash anyway. Keep up the great content. Cheers!-
Awesome project. I have no doubts you'll get it done on a 'budget'. 😃
Fingers crossed!
Great win on the startup!
killer deal there Ratarossa... NICE!
thanks dude
Really looking forward to seeing how the repairs progress. What always astonishes me is the amountvof rust there is on UK vehicles. I lived in GB for 3 years (RAF Lakenheath) and absolutely loved it there, but I'm so glad that I live where vehicles don't rust...Texas!
yer its a nightmare .... you are very lucky not to have to deal with the dreaded rust issue
This is so fun to watch.
You can weld a nut to the sheared off stud seeing as its threaded into aluminium!
You’re a legend! I can barely afford semi legendary cars. You manage to obtain some of the pinnacle of vehicles enthusiasts go nuts for and fix them from scratch! 👏🏻
Having spares and doing some eBay shopping is paying off. 😉👍🏻
Wow, thanks!
Wow, thats an awesome project ❤
It’s FI system. Stands for Fuel Injection.
I hate cliffhangers 😉. Awesome sauce. looking forward to the next episode
My absolute favourite ferrari right here !!!
Dream car goals cannot wait to see how this one progresses !! Going to be a amazing journey
Having those parts for the 360 truly does pay dividends and save probably literally thousands
Already looking forwards to the next update on the 430 bring it on
This channel is getting better every day
Thanks for the kind words
Great vid as always mate. The video series are a lot easier to follow if you number the series, part 1,2 etc. Easier to catch up on/ rewatch the back catalogue.
Look forward to the next one!
Its a very good point Ben and I will actually renumber them on this series
@@Ratarossa much better! 😉
Nice work and thanks for sharing it with us!! I would've been tempted to keep the bodywork unrepaired for a few months to be able to enjoy parking it anywhere without worrying about door dings haha.
once on the road I might do that
The titanium spring should be fine for reuse, you’ll just have to get a replacement shock if they are available separately and as for the broken stud in the front you need a stud extraction set which are available from good tool suppliers. Really looking forward to seeing this one progress 👍👍
Thanks buddy much appreciate the advice
Something about chrome sockets on a impact, I just love it!
The adventure continues! Good temporary repairs and diagnosing to get that to start. Shame about the steering rack, but that car went through a lot! 🙏🙏
Another great video! Bet you're glad you have a store of Ferrari parts!
I am!
Excellent thanks
Admirable "needs must" road side temporary fix skills there Scott. Very satisfying breathing new life into someone else's cast offs, be they an old Metro or top flight Ferrari. When that key is turned and the engine bursts into life for the first time after ages is one of those Deep Joy moments I shall never tire of experiencing.
Keep this good stuff coming. We enjoy it .. good and bad times warts and all.
Most cars have that immobilizer kill cut off device, even very basic means of getting about. You are not the only individual to have been caught out and puzzled by that. One press and instant start... Good eh.
3:43 weld a nut to the remainder i do it all the time it’s good as the heat helps loosen it.
THIS!
Great little channel! 👍🏻
Glad you enjoy it!
Will be great to see this car back on the road again, this beautiful Ferrari deserved to be saved!
Couldn't agree more!
You can get those drill bits which drill anti-clockwise to get the studs out. They usually come out when drilling as the drill binds to the metal.
You can also tap it. Put a bolt in. Weld the bolt, and then away you go.
Bought one of these kits to remove broken subframe bolt from my sons car. Worked a treat.
Also the heat created by the reverse drilling can break any "Corrosion welding" metal to metal. Works for me most of the time. Failing that, patient use of a Dremel type tool and suitable bit to tease it out little by little.
Buy a set of EASY OUTS ( tapered left hand thread taps) centre punch the broken stud, use the correct size drill for the easy out. Screw the easy out in the hole anti clockwise & the broken stud will unscrew without any damage. We do this all the time with broken studs in the power industry!
Doing a bang up job 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Definitely enjoying this new “series”.
Thanks buddy, glad to hear
Fantastic project!
Thank you! Cheers!
Looking forward to watch the next episode.
thats buddy
Easy job for SCOT he will get that up and running he is the FERRARI EXPERT 👍👍👍
Thank you
Suggestions on tools😂😂 I appreciate u trying to include us. But I know you know what's needed to remove the bolt!! Great looking build
As you were pulling the right front apart I was surprised that, with everything broken, there didn't appear to be any damage to the steering rack. Then, seeing you not being able to get it to turn, I'm thinking the rack may be broken internally. Hope I'm wrong! And good on the fuel disconnect; my first thought was some kind of immobilizer, but a simple fuel cutoff is SO MUCH BETTER.
Good luck on the rebuild, shouldn't take, what, 2 more episodes? 😂
I really looked closely of what I could see of the rack with the right corner all apart and it all looked ok, but impossible to tell as like you say it could be internal
I threw my hands in the air when the car finally turned over and fired up. 😂
So cool to hear we are all excited when these things go right
Been watching this channel for a couple of years and I swear I haven’t seen a project finished yet 😂
CS Spider, Silver CS rebuild ... in the last few months
It's aliiiiive!!!
The 430 is such beautiful car. 😍.
I totally agree
Mate, this is going to be fantastic!
Thanks
For removing the sheared bolts it is best to clean the end of them and weld on a washer and nut. Or just a nut works too. This blasts the bolt with heat and the newly fastened nut allows you to undo it. Always let the weld cool down almost fully before trying it and be prepare to reweld it a few times. It will work, its the only thing that works for me anyway. Drilling out is never easy and more likely to wander off and damage the frame.
Great content and camerawork 😊 Might be worth seeing if a machine shop could use a press to straighten the bent suspension strut, perhaps that’s wishful thinking though.
Scott, the first thing to "try" on that broken stud is a super sharp punch hammered around the rim at an angle trying to get it to spin out. More difficult solutions can be tried if that doesn't work (welding a nut on / drilling & the standard take out tools, or tap it for a reverse-thread smaller screw).
thanks ... ill give that a shot
@@Ratarossa welding a nut on is far far superior to drilling! weld a nut on it, you'd be shocked how easy it comes out after that
Another great video in what will be a monu(mental) series … A true hero you are 🙏🏾❤️ #essereferrari
Keep cracking on 👍 from The Guru 👍
I would get the strut fracture crack tested with all that damage
You left us hanging! A Ratarossa Cliffhanger. Dallas-like….Who shot JR?
the great thing now is that it's running
100% its a nice bit of progress and with the engine good it means there's at least good money in the car
@@Ratarossa yes, and you took a great weight off your shoulders 😅
This is a great series. Probably the power steering system is goosed and the rack is damaged. Can't wait for the next episode to find out.
This is what I fear ££££sssss
love it progress is progress well done 👏 🎉
Thank you!! 😊
I'm sure you'll turn this project into a winner, & best of all its a left hand drive allowing you to maximize your return if you sell it.
Nice to see how the channel has grown and that you now have a cameraman to make it attractive to watch. Feedback point is still to work on his skills so that he also follows / films a bit more with what you are working on at that moment. No hate though
Appreciate the feedback it really helps us improve
Very well done, indeed!
Thank You
Drill a hole in the center of the stud then use an 'easy out' which grabs the stud inside the hole you just drilled and you turn it counter-clockwise to hopefully get the stud remains out. I did this just last weekend on my son's 944.
You got this, have faith.
Your only option with the sheared stud is to very carefully drill a 4 to 6mm hole in the center about 8 mm deep, warm up the area with a small butane blowtorch and then insert the most expensive easy out you can find for the size hole (the cheap ones just deform) use a T-Handle tap wrench on the easy out and push into it while turning it out. If I was nearby I'd pop in and do it for you. You do great work BTW.
Loving this series so far Scott! Quality stuff :)
Thanks a ton!
We're loving your channel sir. 🇺🇸 Norrh Carolina.
Thank you kindly
Well done boys enjoyed
Thanks buddy, glad you enjoyed it
@@Ratarossa good luck with everything.
Good progress. Engine is running and the car can roll from the street to the driveway. I was thinking we need to look under the car to see what sort of carnage might have occurred, but then when it would not steer, you jacked it up for a look see. A car like this is a scavenger hunt for unavailable parts that are way too expensive. It adds a whole layer of satisfaction when you overcome the beast.
Thanks Mark
Love it!
Thanks!!
Some great builds on youtube at the moment.
There sure are
