The typical story. Even if it isn't exactly similar to this, Black people are always getting juiced of our flavor/magic one way or another. Tbh, the next generation of Wayans has never captured me the way they do. Not saying they won't, can't be, or haven't been successful in their own right, but they just haven't been my cup of tea.
The reason why the younger generation doesn’t have the same flavor is probably because they didn’t grow up the way the first generation did. There’s something about literally growing up in the hood that alters your sense of humor.

Once it proved fruitful they cut the Wayans out and replaced them with the usual suspects. The same exact thing that the WB did with their sitcom when the network launched in the 90's

They played the role that The Film company intended. Use A grade black talent for a cut rate price to get a risky proposition off the ground. Once it proved fruitful they cut the Wayans out and replaced them with the usual suspects. The same exact thing that the WB did with their sitcom when the network launched in the 90's
True and the, then new, channel Fox did that with Living Color back in the late 80's, had a whole heap of black talent, once the channel was well enough established it dropped its black content like a hot potato!
