Thank you so much for your video, very clear, informative. You took your time to explain what you were doing, a lot of videos seem to speed through. I like to do my own service as I know whats going in, then. But still like to watch a video and read up on "how to" to make sure I don't miss anything. Again thanks for your video.

Thank you Graham that is appreciated. I agree I can be a little annoying when some crucial parts are missing from a video. So I do try my best to cover every step needed. Thanks for watching. 🙂👍

I’ve just had me oil light pop up! I only bought my car in July so didn’t know where to put it. This video is super helpful thank you! Xx

Hi Kerry, you’re very welcome, I’m really pleased it was useful. When you say your oil light popped up, was this a light meaning low oil level or low oil pressure. Although both are important the latter is much more serious. 🙂

Isn't it necessary to have the engine running to add the oil?

Hi, you definitely need the engine switched off to add engine oil. Do you mean filling the oil filter with oil. This is not strictly necessary but very good practice as it allows engine oil to build pressure quicker following an oil change. Hope you enjoyed the video 🙂👍

No idea why these belts weren't up to the task. VW / Audi used rubber belts in their 2.0 TDi to run the oil pump and not as many issues there. I can only assume this issue has been resolved now.

Hi, well you would hope so, I mean what bright spark decided to put the cambelt inside the engine.😁 Not being familiar with the VW Audi oil pump belts I’ve just had a look and firstly they look a very heavy duty belt, which makes sense and secondly I would imagine they do not have same torque stress factor as a belt driving double camshafts. The Puretech engine belt looks like a fairly standard belt. Thanks for watching the video. 👍

@@EverydayWorkshop When your chasing that ultimate efficiency... reducing the friction of the belt drive system can improve MPG by a few points. Looking at the failure point of the belts, it swells, indicating an interaction between something in the oil and polymers of the belt. I reckon it's certain additives in fuel which causes it. All things considered, it's not the worst belt to change and atleast with the fuel saved, it pays for the belt... just about! Atleast it isn't a timing chain that requires taking the engine out... that's been famous on a lot of cars to the point I'd rather have a belt over a chain nowadays!
