Very nice 👌 👍
I have this but can't communicate with anything but body roll systems..
I see thx for cool vid
Great video. What's the brand/model of the Tow Bar?
Hi Tom, it’s a TowTrust towbar. This is a link to an unboxing review: ruclips.net/video/Z4PV1BzrvJo/видео.html. Also if the you check either video description there is a link to the towbar from the supplier I bought mine. Hope this helps. 🙂👍
I just can't understand how you got that c clip on so easy
The main trick is using the grease to keep it central and then a sharp whack to enter the CV 🙂👍
Beautiful piece of history. 👍
Thanks, it is a lovely old machine ans a real piece history. 🙂👍
Hi, The motor on my model is sealed. No brushes evident..I take it this will be a complete replacement? Is there a continuity test I can do between connectors?
Why? A new MAP sensor is like 20-30$...
Yeah I angre they aren’t expensive, but if there is actually nothing wrong with it except being carboned up and it is cleaned in a few minutes. Why not. Made a video about it too. 👍🙂
thanks, this was a great video full of detail
Thank you, I’m very pleased you found it useful. 🙂👍
Man, I only make this comment to help someone, and not to knock your effort in any way. I would not recommend doing this. If the rust has not been neutralized completely, it will keep rusting. Any rust particles that get stuck in any of the 3 valve blocks (each has 3 valves) will cause you headaches that will be very tricky to diagnose, and will end up costing more than just replacing that tank in the first place. Buy once, cry once. This is a potential nightmare for the next owner because those problems won't show up right away.
Why didn’t you tell me that before I repaired it 😉 (only joking)😁 I agree with everything you said, but it was the weekend I needed the vehicle and quickest I could get one was in three to four days. I had the weekend materials and ability to get the job done. I did contemplate all the issues you mentioned but opted to repair it. And if made a good video 😁. It was still going fine a year and half later. Hope you enjoyed watching. 🙂👍

Hi i done everything propley and oil seeking from oil cover Why ?
Hi, do you mean the oil filter housing?
Great step by step detailed video with written notes, excellent work 👍
Thank you very much. I appreciate your kind words, it makes it worth while taking the time making the videos. 🙂👍

Does look it. It’s DPF cleaning.
Great video! What's the thing you removed at 1:18 in the video?
Thank you, I’m very pleased you liked it. To be honest I’m not sure but will try and find out and let you know. 👍🙂

Thank you, your words are very much appreciated. 👍🙂
This looks completely different than my 2017 model

Climate control system blowers fun fuse wich one, were located?
Hi, it looks like it’s fuse number 11 in the engine compartment fuse box. Hope this helps you. 👍🙂
That's under the other fuses?? How you take itt of the complet top??
Hi again, I should have included that in my video (my bad🙂) Don’t have one of these vehicles available at the moment, but I’ve had a search and found this forum that seems to show the procedure quite well. Hope this helps. 👍🙂
Its gonna shake a bit ?
Actually it honestly doesn’t at all, it’s turned out to be so useful. I now use the same space for my bench grinder and chop saw. 👍🙂
No
🙂 no to what exactly
Can you recommend to me that machine
Hi, do you mean does it work well, yes I can recommend it. If you mean where can I buy one sorry this isn’t for sale, although I am considering making them to sell. 👍🙂
Hi what is the size of the oil filter wrench?
Hi, I believe it’s 86mm. I think i put it in the description. Hope this helps. 🙂👍
Hello je suis français pensez-vous que ça peut fonctionner sur une Opel Vectra C 2 litres 2 ??
Hi David, yes it should do, they cover around 60 car manufacturers, so if your car has an OBD 2 port I’m sure it will be covered. Hope this helps. 👍🙂
@@EverydayWorkshop thanks you ! :)
Just been doing that on my Mazda 6. Dreading what the intake manifold could look like...
Hi Steve, yeah unfortunately it very likely looks like this.
Don't use the silcon - just get your window rebonded about £60 in the UK. Chances are if it is leaking at the bottom / sides it is also leaking at the top (very common in these)
Hi Conrad, thanks for commenting. If you watch the video you will see it is leaking at the top. It’s a well known Volvo fault on these XC60s. The video is showing how cleaning out the blocked drainage channel can stop the leak (water will take the easiest route) as it did in this case. Ultimately like you say the windscreen will need rebonding. You will also notice I only applied silicon on the sides not the top. Although this wasn’t really necessary. Oh and a year and half later it was still not leaking, so I was pleased with the result and it made a good video. 👍🙂
Why did they put the oil in the wrong hole.nevrr prefill the oil filters.do they do this on s side monted oil filter 😮😮😮😮😮
Hi Lloyd, thanks for your comment. Not really sure what you mean. Why would it be the wrong hole. The aim is to fill the oil filter as full of oil as you can to remove the air from the system, shortening the time it takes to build up oil pressure. As mentioned in the video it is a bit more difficult to do this with a side mounted oil filter. Hope this helps 👍🙂.
What year is this car?
Hi, this vehicle is a 2014 model and should be the same on all vehicles from 2011 to 2018. Sorry I should have made it plain on the video description but forgot to update it 🙂. All Audi model should also be the same or similar. Hope this helps. 👍🙂
The way that panel goes on is poorly designed. Should hinge and snap on the opposite directions.
I agree Volvo could have done much better with this design. Not sure why they have made access so difficult. 👍🙂
Does he understand how a filter works??
Are you making the point that the oil isn’t being filtered? 🙂
Pre filling can introduce unfiltered contamination into the engine. The oil film left on the critical engine bearings is sufficient to lubricate the engine until oil prime is re established. My 1977 GMC with a 350 4 bolt main has 1,272,000 miles, doesn’t use or burn oil and I have never pre filled the oil filter. There are 424 oil changes on that engine. I think I would have noticed by now if not pre filling is bad!
Hi Mark, thanks for commenting. I have to disagree though, there are more likely ways to introduce contamination into an oil filter than using brand new oil out of a brand new sealed container. Your GMC with 424 oil changes is the main reason you’ve never had an issue. But if you’d like it to cover another 1.2 million miles I know this would be beneficial. I’ve done literally thousands of oil changes over the years and have heard that brief but excruciating sound of big end contact just before the oil pressure builds many times, especially in older engines. If you own your car and can shorten this period in my opinion it’s a no brainer, it will definitely be kinder to the engine increasing its longevity. Not trying to be argumentative just enjoying the discussion. 🙂👍 There is a very good video I found on RUclips a while ago with proper test proving the value of filling your oil filter if it’s possible. I’ll try and find it and post a link if you’re interested.
Just found the video, produced by The Motor Oil Geek - ruclips.net/video/939WTeorBnQ/видео.htmlsi=iprqV9kmsPHMV1H- Great video and well worth a watch.
I don’t claim to be a expert, I am however speaking from experience. My dad was a professional mechanic who owned his own shop. He taught me to change my oil every 3,000 religiously. He explained that when you refill a paper filter made on mass production equipment, there is a better than average chance that dust from the cutting machine will be in the pleats of that filter. He said there was even a chance of metal contamination from the outer shell stamping machine. Now as to if any of that is true and to what extent… I can’t honestly say. But I can say that my GMC has over a million miles and the engine compression is still 178 lbs. and I never pre filled as per dad’s advice. And yes I am open to suggestions and your opinions. Maybe I won the engine lottery with this particular small block, but I like to think that dad was right.
That video will make me rethink this. What I have been taught is now in serious question. Live and learn. Thanks for the information.
I do an oil change on my vehicle much better I don't wear gloves like a wussy and I don't pour oil into the filter.
😁 Good for you. I spent about 40 year with my hands in oil not wearing gloves, and my hands have payed the price. So now I do wear them. 👍🙂
Blessings- Thank you !
You are so welcome, I am very pleased you have found it useful. 👍🙂
Should fill it with milk first! Always good for the filter! Calcium helps with flow!
😁 Ain’t milk brilliant!
Have you done a video on changing transmission fluid citroen c5 aircross
I haven’t sorry, but will if I get the chance.
Tighten filter as much as you can with two hands 🤣
Yep 🙂👍
Hack
What if it’s sideways?
That’s why mention it in the video. You could always turn the vehicle on its side. 😁👍 Seriously though you might be able to get some oil in and be quick. 🙂
So many wrong comments you should always pre fill if possible. Even on side mount filters i fill as much as i can. Obviously not prefilling wont break a motor but dry running it every single oil change for the few seconds adds up in terms of wear
Nice to hear someone who understands the physics and has mechanical sympathy for engines. I am amazed how many people can’t understand the benefits and argue against it. 🙂👍
how did the exide battery do? did it last?
Hi, yes it’s fine but it is only around a year and a half. I would expect it to last at least another three years. 🙂👍
@@EverydayWorkshop yeah well we can wish all we want but the days when parts were made here and had quality built right in are long gone, replaced by the whole “parts are cheap enough to buy over and over” mentality. that’s fine for kidneys and hip joints, but i don’t want some crappy betters that still cost $145 to pick the worst time to crap out. and it did, does, will. some things should just be superior quality because of their uses. families use them. people who make crap quality parts can’t stand behind the products they make, or do but those parts are designed to fail regularly on schedule. but anyway just went to home depot and bought the exide 51R to put in a miata. let’s hope.
Let’s hope it doesn’t let you down, time will tell. I agree though car manufacturers definitely design failure into the vehicles, not soon enough to get a really bad name but at a point where they make a fortune on parts replacement sales. I remember back in the eighties to early nineties as a small independent garage we were replacing more than 5 Ford doors lock barrels per week. Now if you do some basic maths, our town say with 10 garages times say 100 towns. All very conservative numbers. The locks back then cost around £20 each from Ford, it works out around £5,200,000 in sales per year for them. Probably way way more, but not bad. 👍🙂
This is ridiculous, I guess Volvo doesn’t want me to fix/troubleshoot on my own!
I agree, it seems all car manufacturers are now on a mission to make everything difficult. Hence the historic DIYer can no longer do what were once simple tasks. Instead you have to take it to the dealer! But hopefully this video will help you do the job yourself. Thanks for watching. 🙂👍
Bs
🙂 please explain why
It’s not necessary to pre-fill your filter. You can for like but not needed and as for reducing engine damage that we will say 2-3 starts a year after an oil change will NOT make a difference on how long the engine lasts… Bigger factors would be a filter without an anti-drain back valve or vehicles that have top mounted cartridge style filters. Good advice but again not needed!
You are absolutely correct, for most people it wouldn’t make any difference while they have their vehicle. But the lucky owner way down the line will still hopefully have a reliable car at x00,000 miles, instead of one with rattling big ends, about to cost them a fortune or a premature trip to the scrap yard. All us oil filter filler uppers are doing our bit to save the planet. 🙂👍
You can do it, but it likely won't be anything noticeable so kinda unnecessary.

That speedometer is all over the place.
It really was, all sorted now though. Replaced the speedo cable. I uploaded a video showing the cable replacement, if you are interested. Link: ruclips.net/video/3kTtC43J2n0/видео.html Thanks for watching. 👍🙂
That's a little too much carbon Candy 😂
😁 it sure is.
Great vid! Love those ramps! Gotta torque that drain plug! 28fp's!
Hi Steve, thanks I’m please enjoyed it, and hopefully found it useful. If you haven’t seen it I have a video showing the ramps build. Link: ruclips.net/video/-_SDamRqlsA/видео.html You notice I used my arm torque wrench 😉. I’m happy knowing I’ve tightened enough without over tightening. I did put the torque of I think 35 Nm in the description, which is probably about 28 lbft. 🙂👍
First time I took a Coul off was on payment and didn't have a clue it shot 60ft down street through a neibourrs windscreen exspensive day 😂
That was a steep learning curve 😁. Glad you were ok. They certainly need some respect. 🙂👍
many thanks! Is it the same for the peugeot 2008 || pure tech 130ch? It looks like the same
Thanks I’m glad you’ve found it useful. I know they use the same engine but can’t be certain they use the same ancillary’s such as filter housings. 🙂👍
if the manufacture does not explicitly state to do this then do not do it.
Just because the manufacturers don’t state it, doesn’t mean it’s not kinder to your engine. 🙂👍
Good video! Thank you
Thank you, I’m pleased you like it. I hope you found it useful. 🙂👍
