So often people forget that she was a victim of rape (by a God, within the temple of Athena which was a violation against the goddess, as well), then she was outcast by her community for being impure. I'd like to think that Athena did not curse her, but gave her the power to never be violated by the hand of a male again (imbuing her with powers and rendering her physical appearance to be something which cannot be mounted sexually). As a gorgon, she sheltered other women who served in the temple she lived, far removed of any man. Unfortunately, men kept trying to invade the temple for the women, so they would be killed by Medusa. I would absolutely love to see her story told properly, and not merely playing off the gorgon she was transformed into as something "hideous," "monstrous," and "evil."
There is no record in the Greek or Roman records to indicate she was forced. The Greeks have conflicting versions of who she is, one of which shows her as a beautiful woman, full of wrath and vengeance. She's also depicted as a winged serpent with fangs. Make your choice. The Roman version is were she gets turned into a monster (sometimes.) As the story gets told by the Roman poet Ovid, she willfully disobeyed Athena by sleeping with Poseidon. Medusa is the daughter of an ancient sea god, and she saw Poseidon as handsome. Saying how Athena is a virginial goddess, and Medusa was her sworn high priestess, Athena took offense to her high priestess sleeping with Poseidon, whom she hated. And it was insulting that they both performed the act in Athena's own temple! Because Athena couldn't punish Poseidon, (he being a god and her uncle) she punished Medusa instead by turning her into the creature we know; snake hair, turn men to stone with a gaze, etc. This was done to deny Poseidon Medusa's love. There IS proof that feminists from Paris in the 70's made the violation version up, because they didn't like the fact that ONLY Medusa was punished. There's a series of lesbian poems that makes her into a heroic and tragic victim. The authors did admit that they kind of glossed over the whole plotting thing Athena did as revenge against Poseidon at the battle of Troy. @@alexcolson7180 I think all gods of all religions are like that, although not as "mortal" as greed gods are. Most gods of the religions don't have mortal desires, like lust. They're all just super powerful beings that don't give a crap about others, but mortals still bow down and try to please their deity. The most obvious is the God from the bible. God writes rules, then he contradicts those very rules with other rules, and then punishes everyone. The most famous one being Adam and Eve -- he intentionally gives those two "instinct to go against the rules", then tells Adam and Eve to not eat the fruit, while totally leaving those fruits to be eaten. As one of the people from the internet said, "God from the Bible is the universe's first troll."
@@michaelsong5555 That's His plan. God already knew Adam and Eve would eat the apple, while His ultimate aim is to expose the Devil. Man and Earth are created by Him, but He choose to give control to us. No matter what we do, God always has the final power to undo everything, even time and space, because He is the Almighty One. Same for a mischievous kid, the parent would always try to reverse or amend the awry course. There's always this constant battle between good and bad, criss-crossing over one another. Being humility or egoistic.
@@bantuck "His ultimate aim is to expose the Devil." No, I don't think so. I think God simply doesn't care. All mortals were simply created for His amusements -- one of many ways to pass the infinite time. He created mortals, then set the rules (but not explain what the rules are to the mortals), then have them go at it. It's kinda similar to how humans create ant farms, and watch them for amusements. Except God does it in a much greater scale, with a lot more control over the rules.
In some versions of her mythology, she was turned into a Gorgon by Athena to protect her from getting raped in the first placed. There are also older versions of the Persephone/Hades stories that are sans rape. These mythologies went through multiple versions/re-writes. Would be cool to see one where at least some of the Gods were looking out for a human. (I'm well aware of various mythologies surrounding the gods, but some classic tales weren't consistent in the first place. )
It is also interesting that history has been told and expressed enough that after 14.5 billion years the truth could only be told by them... not the rewritten books. Thank you for this.xx
No. Medusa was a beautiful woman to the point men couldn’t resist looking at her which led her to one of the goddes raping her but athena blamed medusa for it and turned her into a snake head, later on she was killed by Perseus.
I strongly believe that a love story with medusa should be made. The hero can go look for her and ask her for help after he defeats her, strike a deal ( you help me and I'll spare your life) as the journey goes on, love starts to develop. I would pay to see it.
The most frightening depiction of Medusa I've ever seen was made by Ray Harryhausen for "Clash of Titans" (1981). He didn't need any computers, just creativity and imagination.

Mountains filled with silent screams, your soul caught in endless dreams. Lust and gluttony, greed and pride, sloth, wrath, and the envy you hide. Thoughts of seduction, eyes filled with corruption. Forgotten sins brings your demise, your avarice has a price. Dancing, eyes that petrify Skin kissed by the dazzle of the sun, lazy days of blissful fun. Eyes of penetrating blue, full lips of rosy hue. The promise of the exotic in a smile so hypnotic. Golden hair cascading down my back, nature saw that nothing did I lack, a virgin girl benign, serving the power of the feminine divine. Innocence torn by eyes of lust, exposing modesty and bust. On a cold marble floor, shame behind a temple door. Legs spread, body defiled, holding down acrid bile. Actions too bloody to forget, anguished screams of torment. Greek gods always had petty squabbles and humans were always caught in the middle. Classic example being the Fall of Troy all because Eris didn't get a party invite...🙄. But on this subject, I've often wondered if Athena's motives in transforming Medusa into a monster were less about punishment and more about protection. 🤔 What if she, Athena that is, sought to prevent Medusa ever being a victim again AND to have a terrifying monster, that even the other gods would fear, in her corner. Being a warrior goddess it kind of makes a cold but strategic sense🤔.... But this is just a personal theory. I'm no expert on Greek mythology...😅
Yeshua love you so much He leaving this messages to you now, repentance, salvation, and baptism is opening up for u this day don't wait another day to give your live to Almighty Yeshua or Lord. Time is running out for this world. Run to Yeshua our Lord.
Hmmm, looks you are going for Ovid's version, where Medusa was initially a beautiful young woman. However, one day she was raped by Poseidon inside Athena’s temple. This was seen as a great hubris towards the goddess whose sacred space was polluted. As is common with Greek gods, Athena directed her anger towards poor mortal Medusa who was not responsible for these events and was the true victim. I prefer Hesiod’s Theogony, where Gaia gave birth to Pontus parthenogenetically. Pontus and Gaia together produced Medusa’s parents, Phorkys and Keto, sea monsters or large sea animals. The two of them produced three daughters, known as the Gorgons. Among those three, Medusa was the only mortal.
Weren't Medusa's two older sisters named Stheno, and Euryale??????? Medusa being the youngest, and mortal while her eldest two sisters were immortal???????
@@davidwolfe81 Yes. She had two sisters. And yes, Medusa was the only mortal amongst them. And yes, she was a gorgon. However, its debatable that she was raped. VERY debatable. Ovid has been 'retranslated' multiple times, and each time the story changes to fit modern sensibilities. Considering the source material is mostly in the hands of academics who have a somewhat liberal list, its not uncommon to see those interpretations shift towards liberal sensibilities. The version were she's raped is mostly from a series of lesbian poems written in the 1970's. The original texts don't really corroborate her being forced at all, and in the Greek versions she's either a snake monster with wings, or wrathful woman and was only changed later to the monster we know in the hands of Ovid, a Roman poet. I guess what I'm saying is she has changed over time depending on who's writing the tale. Even Ovid's version changes which just goes to show you how fluid her story is. To me? It makes more sense that she willfully disobeyed Athena rather than be forced. The punishment Athena levels against Medusa is extreme and knowing Athena's sensibilities, it falls more in line that Medusa willfully disobeyed her goddess by having sex with Poseidon rather than be forced by him in Athena's temple. Of course I could just be giving Athena to much credit. But look at it from this point of view, if you're a feminist, wouldn't you find it more... interesting if Medusa was forced rather than someone who broke her vows to Athena?
Yes I remember Medusa in the original clash of the Titans that came out in 1982 when Henry Hamlin cut her head off but a new movie of just Medusa yeah I would love to see then
Why all the revisionist Greek mythology? Medusa was no victim, nor was she a heroine. She voluntarily entered into a sexual encounter with Poseidon in Athena's temple, and it was Athena who transformed her into a gorgon for her blasphemy. Medusa was not forced, coerced, or raped. She was no different than other mortals who had become involved with immortal gods and paid the price for it, like Adonis, the doomed mortal lover of Aphrodite. Also, Perseus did not seek out Medusa's death, he was trying to save his mother, Danaë, from King Polydectes of the island of Seriphos. Polydectes is the one who sent Perseus to retrieve the head of Medusa, thinking it would be a suicide mission and would clear the way for Polydectes to have Danaë to himself as his queen.
The fate of every woman in this world is that of Medusa. Man does wrong things to the Woman. But it's the Woman who gets punished by the society and has to face the trials. She has to prove her innocence. WHY???

Some stories contradict that Medusa was not a hideous monster but that her vanity to compare her beauty to the goddesses got her cursed not with ugliness but godlike beauty that was lethal for mortals to gaze on.
It would be nice I see a movie done about medusa , and not some stupid ridiculous modern day horror movie. But some beautifully filmed the the tragic story as told in Greek mythology.
The true story of medusa is tragic. So according to Mythology : Medusa a beautiful woman was a priestess for the Goddess Athena, one day in the temple Poseidon came and raped her. Athena witnessed the poor girl rape but instead of helping/saving her, Athena turned Medusa into a monster. This was done because Athena got offended and blamed Medusa (the victim) and not Poseidon (the rapist). Medusa served Athena faithfully but got betrayed by her.
Greek mythology is cool. If you stick to the original story, Medusa could be a very interesting movie, because she started out as a beautiful woman who got betrayed by the Gods.

Afterwards, Athena blamed Medusa for being so beautiful (her reasoning was that your beauty made Poseidon lust you, so it's your fault), so Athena turned Medusa ugly and then banished her.
Not cool.
that shows how petty and cruel the greek gods were
@@alexcolson7180 I think all gods of all religions are like that, although not as "mortal" as greed gods are.
That's why is a myth . god's act like human . God of the bible is not human .
There's *no version* where the transformation was protection against men, it's just a modern interpretation of the story
No. Medusa was a beautiful woman to the point men couldn’t resist looking at her which led her to one of the goddes raping her but athena blamed medusa for it and turned her into a snake head, later on she was killed by Perseus.
Why is no one making a tv series about Greek mythology? Imagine Spartacus visuals with the plot twists and politics of Game Of Thrones.
Cuz it doesn't sell . Alot of people aren't interested

I love Greek Mythology.. This should be the start of a GM Universe.. You could tell the story of Perseus next followed by Athena, Hercules etc.
They already touched on that with Wonder Woman
WOW.I can`t wait to see it.It will be a great movie based on greek mythology.
I really feel bad for Medusa. She was not a monster, she was a victim..😢
Yeh story real hai ya fake hai Nikita ?
Nunca pensei que ia ficar vivo para ver esse trailer
Love it. Turn this into a movie now!!!!
He didn't need any computers, just creativity and imagination.
yep scary as hell too
@@loststoryproductions Made even moreso with a rattlesnake tail since there are no rattlesnakes in Europe.

@@juliusjocson9943 just don’t stare her in the eyes!!
really??
DANCING EYES THAT PETRIFY.
Mesmerized by a deathly stare,
all your desires lie blatantly bare.
Pretense of true nobility veiled in the act of civility.
the deathly mask of terror, eyes fading in horror,
for precious last moments, motionless fleeing.
Breath gasping, rasping begging, your eyes no longer seeing
Entrapped like a fly, feel your doom in searing eyes.
Screaming, as your blood is congealing,
the decaying stench of the unfeeling.
Flesh blackens, turns to stone,
powerless you’re all alone,
held in an eternity of nothingness.
Bodies slowly twisting, no longer resisting,
like a vine to scapes of weathered time.
Mountains filled with silent screams,
your soul caught in endless dreams.
Lust and gluttony, greed and pride, sloth, wrath, and the envy you hide.
Thoughts of seduction, eyes filled with corruption.
Forgotten sins brings your demise, your avarice has a price.
Dancing, eyes that petrify
Skin kissed by the dazzle of the sun, lazy days of blissful fun.
Eyes of penetrating blue, full lips of rosy hue.
The promise of the exotic in a smile so hypnotic.
Golden hair cascading down my back, nature saw that nothing did I lack,
a virgin girl benign, serving the power of the feminine divine.
Innocence torn by eyes of lust, exposing modesty and bust.
On a cold marble floor, shame behind a temple door.
Legs spread, body defiled, holding down acrid bile.
Actions too bloody to forget, anguished screams of torment.
Caught in a bestial snare, blood seeping everywhere.
Tainted ravishment, easy abandonment.
Lust and gluttony, greed and pride, sloth, wrath, and the envy you hide.
Thoughts of seduction, eyes filled with corruption.
Forgotten sins brings your demise, your avarice has a price.
Dancing, eyes that petrify.
A girl prone to kindness, judged in unfairness.
Punishment unjust, heart hardened lost all trust.
Forgiving no longer a duty, cruelty instead of beauty.
The green-eyed monster of jealousy, this is now a legacy
of female divinity declined, the power of the woman maligned.
Beauty unscarred, alabaster skin, perfection unmarred.
Snakes coiled on my head, blood curdling fear and dread.
No man will come near me, no man will dare touch me.
Never ending volcanic ashes of despair when you are caught in my glare.
Retribution in my eyes, damned as your soul dies.
Lust and gluttony, greed and pride, sloth, wrath, and the envy you hide.
Thoughts of seduction, eyes filled with corruption.
Forgotten sins brings your demise, your avarice has a price.
Dancing, eyes that petrify.
A face of jarring harmony both evil and divine.
Feared, revered, reviled, in all the ages of time.
On the aegis as a protector embossed.
One look in my eyes all hope is lost.
Serenity in snake coils this face is mine.
Now I claim the power of the divine.
Dancing eyes that petrify.
I am Medusa.

THE SONG OF MEDUSA
This would be so awesome to see a movie about her...Why haven't they ever done 1 I mean there's 1 of everything else why not a great 1 of her....
They did, about 8 years ago. It was called “Atlantis” Jemina Rooper was awesome as the tragic character
If you'd started the trailer with the two scenes you ended it with, it would have been much more captivating. Would make a cool film if it came from Medusa's perspective and had a half-decent script, good CGI, choreography and soundtrack. Darren Aronofsky would be a great director for it!
Tomara que seja feito um filme sobre MEDUSA

Is there a movie?
Atlantis describes Medusa pretty well
Are they actually going to make a Medusa movie or is this just some fan trailer or something. If they're actually going to do one it's going to be a fantastic and Epic movie, that's for sure. If this is just a fan trailer, I did say it's pretty good
Greek gods always had petty squabbles and humans were always caught in the middle.
Yes there did stories on the heroes of Greece, but never told the real story of her. That would be great.

I felt like I was watching an SNL commercial skit but then I didn’t, but then I did again.
Wow very well made. I hope u make this movie

Yes I remember Medusa in the original clash of the Titans that came out in 1982 when Henry Hamlin cut her head off but a new movie of just Medusa yeah I would love to see then
Pls continue do this movie about Medusa. Can't wait to see the full movie. Good trailer.
yeah me too i want to see this movie plz

We used bunch of programs.
Premiere, after effects, maya, zbrush, cinema4d, photoshop, illistrator
Woooow interesting and im working at Premiere, after effects,Photoshop, illustrator but i have try to make something like this :D and Maya its so hared program need Patience
it is. But maya is one of the most popular/powerful applications in 3D industry. Also Cinema 4D can be a great alt too.
Some stories contradict that Medusa was not a hideous monster but that her vanity to compare her beauty to the goddesses got her cursed not with ugliness but godlike beauty that was lethal for mortals to gaze on.
A história ❤ perfeita
Tried to look this up. It's not available to watch anywhere.
this looks really good, excellent imagery, this is going on my to watch list!

Why did you need to use that same, tired LOUD CHORUS MUSIC?? BANG-BANG!! Be different. Be bold.
Is this a real movie?
It would be nice I see a movie done about medusa , and not some stupid ridiculous modern day horror movie. But some beautifully filmed the the tragic story as told in Greek mythology.
The true story of medusa is tragic. So according to Mythology :
Medusa a beautiful woman was a priestess for the Goddess Athena, one day in the temple Poseidon came and raped her.
Athena witnessed the poor girl rape but instead of helping/saving her, Athena turned Medusa into a monster.
This was done because Athena got offended and blamed Medusa (the victim) and not Poseidon (the rapist).
Medusa served Athena faithfully but got betrayed by her.
2019??
How can i watch these movies and where
