This is a civil case, so I'm not really sure he can avoid taking the stand. He can take the fifth while on the stand, but the Jury/Judge can infer liability from his refusal to testify. I think, are there any NY lawyers in the hizzy who can confirm?

Then afterwards they come with a measurement tape and check the sqare feet you reported. After that, they go through the real estate market to assess the real value and only after that they estimate the taxes one owns, and they do that for all citizens. This is probably why DT had to pay the exact amount of $ 750 federal taxes in 2016 and 2017, the IRS did their DD.
