  • We sold our bus last weekend - it was a bittersweet moment, but time for us to move on to other adventures. We sold it to someone who will be able to take good care and make much better use of it than we have been recent.
    My camera died while driving and so this video ends a bit suddenly, sorry!

    Well thank you for all of your driving. I put your vids up on the large screen and just relax, remembering the greyhound trips and the scenery.

    Sometimes this happens, Ryan. I bought an '88 96-A3 which had to be sold at the height of the [so-called] pandemic. I may buy it back, but who knows. On a side note, I did a bit of history on your bus and was surprised to learn that I have driven it when I worked at Grayline of Alaska in the early 90s. Back then it was coach number 195. In fact, here she is when she was sold to Wilson's Transportation [Link was bad but for you bus nuts, Google: Wilson's Transportation 195]. After that, then sold to Pacific Charter Lines. Well, thanks for taking us along for the ride, Ryan. It has been a pleasure to be welcomed aboard and 'accompanying you' on your many journeys. These are memories that will remain with you forever and you have done that which few able able to do. I wish you the best and may your continuing journeys be just as wonderful.

      Wow that's awesome thanks for the info. I did find some old photos from back then via Google and it definitely looks like the very same Coach! PCL did tell me that it spent time in Alaska, but I never had any more details until now

    I wish you the best. Loved your videos, hearing that engine's purr always brought a smile to my face. I understand that you have to make important decisions, some tougher than others. They always rides better when theyre going away. All the little annoying noises and quirks just melt away while you enjoy that final ride realize what a beauty she really was. Been there done that. Good luck. You will have anothet one later in life when you figure everything out.

    Hey Ryan, sorry to see you sell the bus, but things happen. I know what its like to sell something you really don't want too. I had a '74 Bricklin, made in your country by Malcolm Bricklin in New Brunswick, and unforseen things forced me to sell it. Also, if you get another rv down the road, DON'T by one. They're junk. Stick to buying an older bus and make into an rv. I work at a aluminum company which supplies aluminum to make rvs in Elkhart, IN, the rv capital in the U.S. Low quality material, high daily production rates, and employees who make them at the many rv factories here say what they make are junk. Stick to older busses.

    Was it a conversion bus or you bought it as is and never fixed the indoor of the bus? If you didn't do anything to the internior of the bus, do you need cdl for this as is bus or you dont really need cdl for this?

    • @RyanBottriell
      @RyanBottriell  Год назад

      I'm not sure about other places, but in BC you only need a normal license plus the air brake endorsement. When I bought this it was still a bus, but I have my class 1 (CDL) so it was not an issue to drive it while I did the conversion.

      In the USA you do not need a CDL but many states want you to have the air brake endorsement. This is obviously a heavy vehicle (36,500 lbs GVWR) and with a braking system unfamiliar to most drivers so I definitely would recommend some training and driving instruction on safely operating the bus, definitely a lot to learn.

      Maintaining a beautiful coach like this is financially draining, and I suspect that had a lot to do with Ryan's selling his coach. All he had to do was setup a go fund me page, he would have received multiples amounts of funds to operate his coach. We all enjoy his videos. What was Ryan thinking, we are his fans!
