Claire Danes is a genius actor and her portrayal of Carrie is to me, legendary. Aspiring actors should watch this show just for her sheer brilliance and to learn from her. As a viewer, I am enthralled with every episode. She's fantastic and I love Carrie.
She could be reporting the weather and I’d take time out of my 50 hour work week to watch that. How often do you come across an actress, actor PERIOD, that gives a breathtaking performance with EVERYTHING they’ve done? Spanning work over decades here... She’s mastered the expressive. She is just so stunning and captivating... I’d watch her in anything.
The saddest part of Brody's death is how hard his daughter rejected him before he headed to his last mission, worse still is that you really can't blame the kid.
Season 3...Carrie in the mental hospital only being used as a ruse to lure out the Lawyer Leland Bennett showing that entire institutionalization of Carrie was a complete trick was MINDBLOWING. Myself, along with others, thought Homeland was losing it's touch. Could not have been further from the truth. The fact that it didn't make this list is a travesty.
The Toug I agree. The scene where Carrie goes to Saul’s house and it is revealed it was all a ruse was breathtaking. Especially the part where she tells Saul “ you should’ve got me out of the hospital sooner”. All the more jaw dropping because it was just Saul and Carrie; no explosions, gunfight, etc.... The show has always been about Carrie and Saul.
< this to be reality, would be incredible. to fool atleast minimally two psychologists required for hospitilization, would require psychopath level fooling.. and they are trained for psychopath/sociopaths to trick them. to get them pass, maybe 2, with intense training and personality, can theoretically be possible, with extreme planning and not even that.. but atleast on the third, would be discovered. normally atleast on second all fakes are revealed.
08:51 Brody's story is tragic. He was a Marine who was broken and assembled by the enemy to be broken again and again. Pushed back and forth. His loyalty was to whoever gave him the best chance to survive. He never had a chance. No one can judge him for the horrors he suffered. And worse than he did. Having to live and watch the lives he destroyed around him took everything away from him. Only Carrie hoped to find redemption. Brody knew his destiny was to die. In her last moments, she made a point of being there. To witness it, its truth, its history as it finally came to an end. Homeland has always tried to be realistic and show both sides of the coin (which is exactly why I like the series). Not to mention Claire Danes' brilliant performance. Few actresses can manage to be as expressive as she is. The final scenes cut my heart, but I loved it. It is life, and as has been said, each action has its consequences. People die, people. There is no point in being angry about it. The scene where Carrie ... Making a star on the wall of the honorees is incredibly sad, a farewell to everything she went through with Brody, a "thank you", even if discreet and silent. I am american. -Nick Brody 04:32 The character chose Dana and Carrie as soon as he returned from the Iran mission. Series that will leave a big void for fans. Ah, Carrie's dialogue with Javadi was awesome, it will stay as one of the striking moments of the series, without a doubt! "And what you wanted, which was for everyone to see in him what you see. That has happened. Everyone sees him through your eyes now..."
Yeah he went through so much and then to die in such a way... I was really angry with the showmakers... Really wished Carries and his relationship would develop more...
So many shocking moments in this show it's hard to narrow it down. One of the more subtle ones, but equally shocking was Dar Adal's admission of how he recruited Peter at the age of 16 and what initially drew his eye to him..."we're all pretty when we're young."
Disappointed that the Death of VP Walden with the sped up pace-maker in the office didn't make it, a gripping scene for me. And where Quinn almost assassinated Brody in the Limo! Both worth honourable mentions
My top moments from Homeland series (not in particular order): 1) Peter Quinn's death (several scenes from the poison gas, to the hospital letter reading and Season 7 honorable death) 2) Season 4: Saul's attempt to commit suicide after he is cornered in the village and the suicide bombing during the trade-off (both events are excellent). 3) Season 7: Shocking re-resignation of President Keane (literally had no idea that was coming! and excellent speech from the president) 4) Season 2: Bombing of the CIA (SHOCKING!!) 5) Season 8: When Carrie staged killing of Saul in order to obtain the Russian asset (I really thought Carrie would kill Saul) 6) Season 3: Brody's death scene was extremely sad. 7) Death of Fara and Max (both were a surprise)
This made me realize how everyone died except for Carrie and Saul. Brody, Quinn, Max, Fara... They've been through so much and lost so much, including their sanity and their personal lives, for a greater cause.
HOW THE FUCK IS QUINN GETTING GASED JUST AN HONORABLE MENTION? That scene had me sick to my stomache and shaped the whole next season! Take out carrie's suicide and the polygraph and put Quinn getting gased and AAYAN getting killed! HELLOOOO!?
Sure, it's a show that had its highs and lows... season 3 was weak and season 5 only okay-ish. Its highs are pretty damn good though! One scene I missed here: Saul running away from Haqanis people in season 4, getting trapped in some courtyard and suddenly pointing a gun to his own head. My hands were still sweating way after the episode ended...
the scene where saul sits on the tarmac and carrie comes out, along with her leading him back into enemy hands in order to save him are two of the best scenes not only in the show but in any show. amazing series.
05:26 Did Showtime's homeland teach you about bipolar disorder? Carrie Mathison, played by actress Claire Danes appears to have Bipolar Disorder I (BD-I) since when she stops taking her meds, often on purpose, she spirals into a strong cycle of mania, melancholy and a variety of mixed or psychotic features. I think Claire does an exceptional job of portraying various mood episodes often associated with BD-I. My own mother had BD-I, but was undiagnosed and untreated for the vast majority of her life. Many of the various depressive episodes and hypomanic stages which have been written into the Homeland story line rings very true. There have been times when the daughter of Carrie Mathison (Franny) is in danger because her mother has such an intense desire to be a successful CIA agent. Sometimes Carrie puts her career over the best interests of her daughter and her life. The series, even though sometimes it goes off the rails, does stay true to how Carrie manages to balance her BD-1 with the shocking story of espionage and counterterrorism. If anything, I think the Showtime series does an exceptional job of portraying bipolar disorder in a thought provoking fair and realistic manner. Hopefully it will educate viewers who were formerly uninformed about the disease what a toll it takes on a person’s life and the lives of those around them. I also love how the show highlights the medications Carrie takes for her illness and even they are realistic. Carrie has shared that she takes clozapine, lithium, nortriptyline, clonazepam which are all drugs often prescribed for those with the disease.
this show is so good! i’ve started watching it almost a month ago and i’m almost done with s7 // i wanna rewatch it 🙉 kudos to the cast, the producers, every single person that made this show possible.. thank you

01:40 Has Showtime's Homeland made a mockery of bipolar disorder? Absolutely not, and to suggest that the show has done anything to negatively portray bipolar disorder is entirely baseless. There is nothing about Claire Danes portrayal of the bipolar Carrie Matheson that could be considered “mocking” about the disorder. Sure, she is, for all intents and purposes, “stable” when she is on her meds. Now what happens when she is off her meds, that is the true face of bipolar disorder. She becomes manic in every sense of the word. Hyper-focused on a hundred different things all at once, spouting off grandiose ideas, behaving in ways that could generally be considered harmful (excessive drinking/drug use, promiscuous sexual endeavors), all things that have at one time or another been attributed to someone with bipolar disorder. On the other side of that coin is the depression. Once she comes crashing down, she finds herself in bed for days at a time, feeling like there’s a thousand pound blanket on her. She might have the desire to continue the things she’s working on, but there is no drive left in her. None. To even stand up and go to the bathroom feels like climbing a mountain barefoot. No two people with bipolar disorder are the same, nor does the disease affect two people in the exact same way, but I can say for myself, the aforementioned symptoms certainly applied to me at one point or another before I finally found a good balance in medication. There is one aspect of the treatment of Carrie Mathison’s bipolar disorder that I found may have been excessive, and that was the use of electric shock therapy. Well, I am not a medical professional and I can only talk about it through the reports (from serious, responsible and truthful medical sources) of people with their own experience, like every patient who has been treated by several doctors / psychologists / psychiatrists / therapists to the throughout their life, now I feel like they may have jumped into the electric shock treatment really fast on the show. In all cases of people with years being treated by doctors, the idea of electric shock therapy has never been proposed, not even mentioned, period. So, from my humble perspective, what Carrie goes through with electric shock therapy is totally foreign to me, now it could be for a number of reasons. Now I believe, with 100% certainty, I would not consider the program as “mocking” bipolar disorder, at all. The actions and situations they show are accurate, and the show handles the reactions of everyone around Carrie very well.

Great list!! I agree with most of it but for me one of the most shocking moments was the scene where Carrie goes up to Brody's hotel room In Season 2 and Brody is officially caught and taken to the CIA. I enjoyed this video, so many shocking moments on this incredible show.
Writer Director Producer, Henry Bromell, conceived & wrote extraordinary episodes through season 3 or 4 before his untimely death by heart attack in his own home. The writer's of this show were simply brilliant.
This is one of the greatest shows on TV, I have been hooked from the very beginning, Brody's vest bomb scene was absolutely fascinating TV, and it also showed how brilliant a CIA agent Carrie is, knowing that the only person that could talk him of the ledge was his daughter, so she goes to Brody's house and talks to Dana and gets her to call her Dad, great scene, Another honorable mention was Quinn's death protecting Carrie and The president and driving them to safety before dying.
Carrie almost letting Frannie drown is the saddest. That and Brody trying to escape that cartel and being stopped. His despair so bad he simply says yes to herion was also pretty sad. Quinn situation also.
You missed two far more shocking moments than some of these you listed here; 1. Carries tries to drown Franny but comes to senses in split second 2. Astrid's death because of empty gun
How the hell is the Langley explosion not number 1????? They basically killed half of the characters and changed the entire series completely. Also, we never got a full explanation to how the hell did that happend

Frickin' love Homeland! One of my favorite ever shows! It's crazy how a lot of it is eerily similar to real life! I'm surprised that they didn't have ANY of the storyarc of Angela on this list, such as her being revealed to be a traitor, or the plane exploding soon after takeoff. That shit blew my mind lolol. Lot of great scenes. Sandy Bachman’s death, every time Carrie gets cornered on a street and she gets away, Maggie talking directly to Carrie at the courtroom…
Parth Sharma Didn't you like season 3? :/ To be honest with you, I'm still sad about his death, but the rest of the season was amazing to me. I really think, he could be alive...Terrorists could had catched him...I don't know, I just don't accept his death :(
The first one is the Best one performance by Damien Lewis. A marine a Father having a trigger in hand make decisive move on her Daughter's Call. I am coming Home.
Aayan's death should have made the list. I don't even remember Carrie's suicide scene, didn't make that much of an impact. Even Quinn killing the child was more impactful.
Quinn’s story is just ridiculous dude goes through everything looses mobility and still ends up saving the day. Quinn will always be the baddest character ever n this show
"Nearly apprehends a package containing classified information but Quinn shows up before they can do further damage" no - they got the briefcase and escaped. that was a big part of the rest of the season
I don't understand Rotten Tomatoes scores for Homeland. Season 7 was amazing and just what I needed after the first two seasons. I mean every season has its qualities and the show doesn't need Brody per say so it was great to see the "old" Homeland from a new angle. Am I the only one?
There are a few missing in the show. Like Hakkani killing his nephew (season 4), Tom Walker turned out to be alive and the one who was really turned (season 1), Yevgeny sending fake news about that kid's death from the hospital in Virginia causing a civil war in American soil (season 7). Maybe the final season will throw us more gob-smacking moments.

I watched the last two episodes of season 5 and I was like, did I skip a season?
yeah i didnt even remember brodys execution :/
This show used to be my favorite. Brings back memories watching this video
Season 5, where Allison Carr was in is epic too! 🙌🔥 Miranda Otto is amazing!
I am still in shock that why a CIA officer is in relationship with a traitor. I knew that love is blind but this relationship I was unable to digest.
I completely agree with the number one pick. Not many shows have made me as nervous as that moment did.
Carrie almost letting Frannie drown is the saddest. That and Brody trying to escape that cartel and being stopped. His despair so bad he simply says yes to herion was also pretty sad. Quinn situation also.
THIS IS THE COMMENT I WAS LOOKING FOR! Like Carrie about to unalive her kid should be at least an honorable mention
Peter Quinn... His death was devastating
Check out Homeland's 1st season: goo.gl/oslWgm
Don Francisco With all the s@$! that's constantly coming outta his mouth, who's to say he ain't!!!
You missed two far more shocking moments than some of these you listed here; 1. Carries tries to drown Franny but comes to senses in split second
2. Astrid's death because of empty gun
Claire Danes is so fucking amazing as Carrie Mathison❤️❤️❤️
How the hell is the Langley explosion not number 1????? They basically killed half of the characters and changed the entire series completely. Also, we never got a full explanation to how the hell did that happend
Homeland was a friggin terrific series
WOW!!! Carrie almost drowning her baby daughter didn't make the list?
That scene even made the news the next day.
The bomb at langley still the most shocking moment
99% of you won't see this so... hi 1%! I hope you're having a nice day or night 💖
Just binged watched the last season 8 episode 12. Enjoy your week.
Brody’s death was turning point since his death it’s not the same

Frickin' love Homeland! One of my favorite ever shows! It's crazy how a lot of it is eerily similar to real life! I'm surprised that they didn't have ANY of the storyarc of Angela on this list, such as her being revealed to be a traitor, or the plane exploding soon after takeoff. That shit blew my mind lolol. Can't wait till the next season frfr
Btw, can I get some likes for my new song pwetty pwease? lolol
NEW TRACK!!! "People Over Profit" by Con Rome feat. The Ultimate Rage & T.J. Love

I hate this show but I'll check out your tunes.
What did you do, Major Winters. How far you've gone.
Daymn Homeland looks so good!!!!!!!!!
The one where Brody wears the explosive vest nearly gave me a panic attack. Wow. I May have PTSD thanks Homeland.
Great list
Homeland was such a brilliant show. We need more writing like this on TV. Power Book 2 (Tariq), 4 (Tommy), & P-Valley, to name a few, are horrendous.
at 7:52 if you look above the buildings at the top left you can see the top right of table mountain sticking out. I live in Cape Town and remember when they shot here. It's suppose to look like Islamabad.
Disadvantages of being early :everyone says first
Advantages :you can say first
"Jesus Christ, it's Carrie Mathison" gulps.
Lot of great scenes. Sandy Bachman’s death, every time Carrie gets cornered on a street and she gets away, Maggie talking directly to Carrie at the courtroom…
Watchmojo idea: top 10 worst babysitters/nannies in tv
i love Homeland, rewatching it atm.. close to s2 right now :D
Quinn's death tops the list; still shocked
season 1,2,4,5 were good
Parth Sharma Didn't you like season 3? :/
To be honest with you, I'm still sad about his death, but the rest of the season was amazing to me. I really think, he could be alive...Terrorists could had catched him...I don't know, I just don't accept his death :(
The first one is the Best one performance by Damien Lewis. A marine a Father having a trigger in hand make decisive move on her Daughter's Call. I am coming Home.
Season 7 has such great writing
one of the best series really.
Aayan's death should have made the list. I don't even remember Carrie's suicide scene, didn't make that much of an impact. Even Quinn killing the child was more impactful.
Just finished season 6 today... What a show. A new favourite with Breaking Bad.
Melhor série ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
why is it that i cant find anything on the firestick for season 2 episode 3??? some are great nad have good links and others do not.
Quinn’s story is just ridiculous dude goes through everything looses mobility and still ends up saving the day. Quinn will always be the baddest character ever n this show
Will miss this show!! epic
Top 10 moments from Shrek
How come death of Brody is only 8th.. I refused to watch next season for a while because of his death!!
When Saul releases the video of Brody's confession to the media and everyone including the family sees it.
"Nearly apprehends a package containing classified information but Quinn shows up before they can do further damage"
no - they got the briefcase and escaped. that was a big part of the rest of the season
BRODY BRODY BRODY....idk how an alison carr moment didnt make it on here....her shooting conrad in the head?? the plane crash? saul destorying her....for me homeland really got started in season 4 when they finally put brodys character to rest
lmao I have watch season 1-3 and then 8. so haquani was like some sort of hero for me. I was like "what a man bro". Knowing how he was changed my perspective on this character
They should update the list with Quinn's death, Max's death, and President Kean resigning
When I found out that Tom Walker was still alive, WOW
There is no series that cries more than Carrie 😥 does in Homland.
