    Keep in mind that you can't use this for consumption. Only as some sort of skin care.

Put with olive oil and it’s almost one week, curiosity killed the cat and i just opened the jar to see how it smells:) It smells acidic, sour. Should i put it into garbage or do sth you suggest?

    I'm looking for a way to preserve my jasmine flowers (with their scent, which I really love), but they lose their scent when they are dried or heated. If they are put in oil when they are fresh with the scent, I worry that the oil may go bad or rancid because they contain lot of water. Your video is enlightening (and thank you for posting!). Do you think sea salt and vitamin E can prevent it from going bad with fresh jasmine flowers?

    • @BeautyFoodTips
      @BeautyFoodTips  8 лет назад +3

      I advise you to use glycerin to preserve the scent..make an infusion for 6 months using only glycerin then you'll tell me if you love the result! glycerin will absorb & preserve their scent:)

    Hi I have a question when you do these infusions is it important to use sea salt to keep your oil from going rancid and for longer shelf life should we only use Olive Oil I tried infusing Rosemary and I think it went rancid so should I use sea salts when doing these infusions

    • @avabelton5586
      @avabelton5586 7 лет назад +3

      Wanda Terry you could let the lavender dry out , like a day or so, then pour oil over in a mason jar , keep in a cool dark space for 4-5 weeks, make my rosemary oil like this, comes out perfect. l use it for my hair, no salt.

    Also if you use dried lavender flower do you have to use salt?

    • @BeautyFoodTips
      @BeautyFoodTips  10 лет назад +4

      Hi Tobs D , yes you may use himalayan pink salt and if you're using dried lavender flowers you do not need any longer to add salt as there is no more water to be absorbed..hence no need of salt :)

      I wouldn't because it's a semi-hard oil meaning it will harden at room temp and will be hard to pour however, I think if you infused the lavender with coconut oil and then whipped it or added some essentials and sea salt or sugar, it would make an excellent after shower oil or a bath scrub 🙂

    can anyone please recommend which oils go rancid easily and which dont. Thank you

      Dear Manita Anna most oils go rancid easily if exposed to light & air. The only one that really resists is the jojoba oil which is in fact a liquid wax, not an oil. Consider adding vitamin E to your oils to avoid them going rancid easily. Hope this helps :)

      coconut oil virgin cold pressed , any kind of vegetable oil containing high fatlevel such as avocado oils , which do not easily go rancid ? the ones from for example peach-pits/seeds , papayaseeds , herbal ESSENTIAL oils are the last to go rancid .

    so after 30 days do you strain the oil?

      Yes I would think that you would turn your jars daily to mix and at 30-60 days then you would strain it into a muslim/cheese cloth and squeeze out the oil into a jar or pot then bottle the oil. She didn't get that far...

    Thank you very much for the beautiful Video. Could I follow the same method for fresh Rosemary / thyme leaves? How about Dried lavender flowers? do I need salt with dried lavender flowers as well? Would it be suitable to use grape seed oil and then blend with jojoba oil after straining the oil? Sorry about so many questions...Thank you again for all your videos...I find them very helpful!

      Thank you Sazia Afrin for taking the time to watch them :*.. you may use the same method for fresh rosemary / thyme leaves too...if you use dried plants or flowers you won't need the salt as there is no water in the plant to be absorbed hence you don't need the salt....I'd recommend making the infusion directly in the jojoba oil otherwise you will dilute it a lot if you combine it with the infused oil..why do you want to mix it?
      Don't worry, I'm glad to help, ask as many questions as you may need to :*
      Hugs,

      Thank you very much Rozalia for helping me with all your helpful tips. I like Jojoba oil because of its beneficial properties, but I wasn't sure if it is good for infused oil as I understand that Jojoba oil is a kind of Wax.
      I have a container of dried Lavender and I didn't know what to do with it before but now as you helped me, I am going to make infused oil from them. and then after straining the oil from it I will try to make bath bomb or bath salt out of the soaked lavender. I think it will break my heart to throw those beautifully scented flowers soaked in oil goodness. what do you think? :)
      I love your videos, I call them happy videos. Thank you again for inspiring me so much.
      Big Hugs
