Anywhere over the rainbow, behind the mountains and near the sea, there is a house, a little and wonderful house: the fairyland cottage❤. And there lives a wonderful, kindness and by GOD blessed woman who open the door of her house every sunday so we can "visit" her. Every sunday I know that it is time for visiting "my" irish friend. I love the peaceful moments you give to me. Not only at this special covid times, but every time. I thank you thousand times from the bottom of my heart for giving me this special, peaceful moments every sunday. ❤
An American Man here, and I was wondering what to do with the lavender trimmings that I’ve had drying. I like the idea of the room spray and per the comments the fabric pillows of lavender for drawers. Your video was so helpful and felt like lavender itself. So calming and delicate, it made me feel lavender calm. Well done and thank you so much!
Lavender is such a go-to in my house. We know that a drop or two of essential oil will stop bug bites from itching, that a drop or two will help us to sleep at night, that a diffuser or a room spray will help us to feel a bit more calm and centered. We also know that it is simply lovely to watch grow and to see the bees happily buzzing around in the flowers. I love your recipe for the room spray, and will have to give that one a try. Thanks again for another brief, beautiful interlude in my week! PS-I was noticing your wedding band and admired it. It looks like it could be vintage. I love vintage jewelry, and have a few pieces myself from cherished family members no longer with us. Some days, when dressing, I think about whose essence I would like to have around me, and I chose a piece from that person, hoping that I can sometimes have a little help or catch a fleeting moment of that ancestor in my day. I hope you have a beautiful week, and I look forward to seeing what you have in store for us next Sunday.
I love lavender. I use dried lavender as a moth and silver fish deterrent for my woollen clothes. I just sew up some little pouches and fill them with dried lavender and then put them in amongst my clothes. I also use lavender essential oil every night over my heart chakra to give me a restful sleep. I dilute it with some fractionated coconut oil and put it in a roller bottle then let it sit in a dark cupboard for 2 days to infuse. I roll the bottle between my hands before I use it. Love your videos. I look forward to them every Sunday. ☺️
Love all your great advice and calming videos. I was diagnosed with follicular lymphoma 4 years ago. Have gone to great lengths to detox and simplify my life after chemo. Thank you so much!
I’ve recently bought a couple of lavender plants so now I know what I’m going to use the lavender for! Room spray sounds amazing because no chemicals, thank you
Thanks for that Niamh. I made Lavender infused oil last week, a big mason jar of it. I infused in coconut oil because thats the oil I use to moisturise. I'll mix some with shea butter for extra richness in summer and it gives good protection in the sun too. I made rose infused oil too. Have a lovely Sunday (although its windy and raining on and off here today in Kildare)
My 5 year old little girl was watching with me and she said "wow, she's really pretty". 🙂 I make some lovely bath tea bags with oatmeal, rose petals, lavendar and some gentle organic soap flakes. Wonderful to bathe with. I also make a tea with lavendar, rose, honeysuckle and vanilla etc...
Love your video. I need ways to use my lavender & I will try the room spray for sure & maybe the lavender oil too. I have made lavender syrup & lavender lemonade which are pretty good as well. Blessings from Maine, USA
Other than these 3 lovely ways, I use dry lavender in small fabric pouches to put in our drawers/wardrobes, to keep insects away and give clothes and linen a lovely scent. Also near a pillow at night, to keep the mosquitoes away, and for a relaxing scent for better sleep.
This is so relaxing to watch. Thank you! One of my favorite ways to enjoy lavender -both dried and fresh- is to add it to lemonade. It just wonderful and so easy to toss in a pinch.
Thank you for the ideas!! I love lavender. It's such a short season. I use them for tea. I leave the stems as stirring "wands" for the neighbor's little granddaughters.
I recently made a lavender syrup and it is divine! I made a simple syrup using one part sugar and one part water and when that was cool put in quit e a pot of fresh lavender and one lemon and let it infuse for 3 days in the fridge. It has a lovely pink color and is great for cocktails!
How lovely is everything that you did. I also use it to Infuse some coconut oil that I put in my hair. My hair smells lovely when I oil my hair. And it certainly calms me down for a relaxing sleep.just thought to share. Much love.
❤️ You read my mind I was also wondering what to do with my lavander. I use my lavander in the soap I make, then I use it for tea , evening calming tea, I mix it with some camomile flowers. 🌷
Hi Niamh! I always have some dried lavender at home too, it's one of my favourite flowers and scents ever! I make lavender infused vinegar that I use as a face toner and also to rinse my hair after shampoo, it does wonders to the skin and scalp! A few weeks ago I made rose water with roses from my garden, I enjoy so much making my own skincare and cleaning products and saving loads of money! At the moment I'm using calendula oil for my skin, I made it myself last spring and I love it! Thanks for another lovely video of yours, hugs from Sardinia! 💗💜
Thanks for sharing! I love lavender as well so much! I usually do my facial tonic with lavender water and witch hazel and it will last longer! I also use dry lavender in my painkiller blend with almond oil and castor oil with dry lavender and rosemary or if I don’t have I used rosemary and lavender essential oils! 🤗
I learned the hard way that those baths....definitely lovely, are messy after lol!! A local coffee shop here offers a lavender honey flavored coffee so when I found the recipe for lavender syrup, I was on it and I love it!!
I love it! I have a huge bag of dried lavender. I’ve made a couple of what I call lavender lemon sleepy pops. They’re just popsicles I like to eat as a treat before bed.
Could you do a short spot on cutting the lavender and how best to dry it, for how long, where to hang it, where to cut the buds off?Thank you. I have a plant in my garden but usually cut foot long stems string them to a hanger, and put the hanger in the closet. Not sure if I am drying it correctly, especially for the products you create.
Linda S. Martin sounds like you are doing it perfectly. When my lavender is dry I pop off the heads and then store in an airtight jar! It seems to keep the smell

Chaosophia24 sometimes companies can spike with other oils to make them smell sweeter they will still label them pure ‘lavender’ as one example. Perhaps this is where the photosensitivity comes from? You should do a video on how to harvest Lavender. I tried two years ago but it doesnt seem to have a smell! So i'm guessing I harvested at the wrong time?

Essential oils are the best. They are so versatile and fun to use.
Not for the skin though. They will really photosensitize it and they can seriously harm your skin.

Ohh interesting! I have never used but lavender flower is edible so would be great in chocolate I’m sure
Hi Niamh! Thank you for another nice video. :) I have some dried lavender from last year, I will definitely try the facial toner, since it's starting to really get into summer. In the past, I've used it as sachets for my clothes drawers, or will even put a little bit in a dish and keep it out. Thanks for starting my Sunday, as always, on a wonderful note. --Diane
Ah lovely Diane! Have a lovely Sunday :-)
Do you think adding essential oils to the room spray recipe would be okay? Do you know about how many drops of one I would add? Thank you, just found your channel :)
Ah delighted you found the channel!
yes essential oils I'm sure would work good. I think it is about 2 drops in 30mls... but I always put more!
Love the video but I have a question. For the spray would it rot if you just used water?
