    I used to eat the lobster that lives in the ocean but that was many moons ago when they were affordable. No lobster in Oklahoma, and I never developed a taste for crawdads. I'll stick with the lobster claw closures please. They are very handy. :-)

      I’ve never developed a taste for crawdads either. Garlic crabs are delicious.

    I've made key fobs before using lobster claws but only the metal ones - I've never eaten a lobster and imagine they might taste a bit like large prawns?

    • @rsislandcrafts
      @rsislandcrafts  Год назад +1

      I’ve never eaten a prawn but my guess is that they would be similar. I’ve had shrimp and they are similar to lobster. I always think of them similar to cuts of beef. Shrimp is like a hamburger or low cut of meat and lobster is a higher end steak or pricier cut of meat. Lobster prices vary here depending on where you live. No surprise that they are less expensive when you live locally to where they are caught. While I enjoy lobster it wouldn’t be my first choice for a splurge meal.

    Hi Robin. Your video came up for making key fobs after i watched another first. I smiked when you showed the Pharmacy bags bc i use them, as well...same ones! Hey, otherwise they'll just be recycled, right?! Good small project bags (see through & the air can escape). Thx. I made two with just a key ring, but might try some of the lobster clasps for gift-giving. You're good at not leaving details out! Good Job!!!

      @rsislandcrafts  Год назад +2

      Oh thank you! I try to give all of the details. I want everyone to be successful. If we already have the pharmacy bags It would be a waste to throw them out without getting a second use out of them. Great idea to use them for those smaller projects. Happy Sewing!!

    As others have said here, yes a very good, explained tutorial, these are a great way to make the key fobs, especially if a person doesn't have that plier's type of tool, I visited your Etsy shop, you have a set of 10 key fobs, is that price for all 10 of them?

    • @rsislandcrafts
      @rsislandcrafts  4 месяца назад +1

      Thank you. It’s good to have options if you don’t have certain tools or hardware. No, as stated in the description box It is per key fob.

    Occasionally puckers come up, how do you keep that from occuring

    • @rsislandcrafts
      @rsislandcrafts  5 месяцев назад +1

      Puckers do happen unfortunately. If I see a small pucker happening ahead of time I can usually “stretch” the fabric a smidge to avoid It. If It happens often then maybe try a walking foot or adding more clips or pins. It can take some practice. Good luck!

    Do you happen to have a link to the lobster claws you bought? I looked on Amazon but there is so many. Thank you and will make some for gifts.

    • @rsislandcrafts
      @rsislandcrafts  Год назад +2

      I’m not sure which ones I have. I believe they were sent to me off of my wish list. I did post a link under a previous comment with similar lobster clasps. They’re all basically the same. I used 3/4” lobster clasps but 1” would work just as well. Any smaller and you’d have a narrower key fob.

    Key fobs are a useful gift. These instructions could also be used for making lanyards with two small changes: longer length and using Velcro instead of a seam for a safety closure. 😉

    • @rsislandcrafts
      @rsislandcrafts  Год назад +2

      Very true. I hadn’t thought of Velcro. I’ve seen the emergency connectors but Velcro is usually something most of us have in the craft room.

      I’m sorry. I searched through my Amazon orders and I couldn’t find them. I think they must have been sent off of my wish list. Amazon doesn’t have a way for me to see what what I receive off of my wish list. I did find these which look very similar. I searched for 3/4” lobster clasp. There are a variety of options to choose from.
