So basically this is a text based game in a real world setting. Sounds a bit terrifying actually. Like, actually physically taking on the role of King Graham. Now if only they could include death as well. lol
I remember several years ago getting a pamphlet on this place at a Wisconsin rest stop when my family was going to visit my grandmother. It seemed really cool, but since my grandmother lived in Milwaukee, going to the Dells was too far out of the way.
There is a hotel water park in grapevine Texas called great wolf lodge with a similar game, you buy a magic wand to play and point it at things around the massive hotel to interact with it, solving riddles to gain powers to slay a dragon in a boss fight in the end of the quest line. fun for people of all ages :D
They've changed it up alot, they have scrindles (their term for the Kindles they use for questions and answers now) And they'll be moving! They bought up a whole block on the strip and will be making it all into realms. :)
I remember doing something like this in Myrtle Beach about 10 years ago...Magiquest? It was more video-gamey though, since you had to buy a wand. All I remember was one of the costumed workers giving me attitude because I complained about my wand being unresponsive. The community and gameplay are definite reasons to pass there. Also, it's basically pay-to-win.
The last time I went there (I think it was 2016 or 2017), they hand out tablets. You no longer literally write stuff on a sheet of paper. It really improves the experience, too.
Exactly why I said "self-contained universe". Mostly because that was the only readable footage I had of entering a question, and I knew fantasy buffs would wonder what the hell that was about.
Chaos how are you so funny literaly you should be a comedian I find your reviews funny and informative. Especially the Scarlett Blade and Maple Story one.
+MegaDeathRay10 to be honest nearly anything with a question is a quiz. Your first comment in this long string of comments could be considered part of a quiz :p
***** I remember that generation. It's the generation that made pokemon fireRed exist with it's anywhere type and question manual and super easy mode by giving charmander metal claw which... He never learns before or after again. Even breeding you need the pokemon from that game to do it. >.> Kids these days need to play Jazz Jackrabbit or earthworm jim, or Doom 1+2, some REAL MAN games. No hand-holding here! :D
After seeing the title, I first thought you went larping, but I remembered your Twitter picture suddenly changed :p For those who wonder what I'm talking about, yes, there's a connection.
I'm going to the Dells this summer and I'm thinking of giving this a try on "easy" mode*. Do you need to use any secret passages to find the wizards? *I'm guessing you don't get a coupon if you finish on Easy.
+rocketprime Two wizards are in secret passages. One is "hidden in plain sight" and one is in the most bullshit "how the hell was I supposed to find that" locations.
Graphics are a little too close to uncanny valley for my tastes. Community sounds like it mostly just keeps to itself, too bad you can't shut off chat in any circumstance though. Gameplay seems good, but definitely some major bugs to work out.
"Just one more place I want to stop by" IS IT THE GIFT SHOP?? Seriously, though. What's in their gift shop? Crappy shirts or actual cool stuff? I... I ask because of a kid... That wants to know... *cough*
Wow, the girls in this game actually have realistic proportions! Good on the devs.
+TooMuchStarbucks though the animations are a bit more low key
+TooMuchStarbucks Ha. "realistic proportions" is what unattractive women claim to have. Damn those hot chicks that make you look bad, eh?

Wow, that was different from your usual routine, and very interesting. Didn't know such things exist, heh
Fun that these things are starting to pop up. I can see me doing something like this with my nieces and nephews. Great idea for a vid.

Cool new series idea. I like it. Keep up the good work.
Massive Multiplayer Organized In Real Life? This sounds like a trip so cool!
This is the sort of thing I'd take my kids too. Makes em run around & use their brains, reward em with Baskin Robins if they win.
You should visit again, they've changed alot. They have Kindles now instead of paper.
They try to change it up every so often to keep it fresh!
Oh jeez, I remember going to something like this when I was much younger.
They had something like this at the Great Wolf Lodge the last time I went there.

That sounds a lot cooler.
sounds like a really cool place to bring the kids.
Mermaids are goblins? Huh.
Exactly why I said "self-contained universe". Mostly because that was the only readable footage I had of entering a question, and I knew fantasy buffs would wonder what the hell that was about.
This looks like a lot of fun!
I went here yesterday. amazing.
I went here years ago but we weren't even close to finishing because we had no idea what we were doing lol. Am I too old to go back?
Sounds like these newer "Escape Rooms" evolved in a much better state out of this.
Good Sidequest, this was entertaining :)
Chaos how are you so funny literaly you should be a comedian I find your reviews funny and informative. Especially the Scarlett Blade and Maple Story one.
Huh. Interesting place! Cool that people are still thinking outside the box to make attractions worth visiting.
so basically an objective based escape room? sounds like fun
This is really an odd idea. Quizzes are fun now?
+MegaDeathRay10 It's sort of about setting and mindset :)
+MegaDeathRay10 Yep. Check out any "trivia night"
i imagined this to be like some kind of like giant labyrinth or something lol, not a quiz

Going there today
After seeing the title, I first thought you went larping, but I remembered your Twitter picture suddenly changed :p
For those who wonder what I'm talking about, yes, there's a connection.
THIS IS SOOO COOL! Cheesy but cool!
Man, could you imagine if they could add some sort of combat. That would be awesome.
Seems like a epic idea
This is soooo nerdy!
It's time for an adventure
Don't you mean "it's Adventure Ti-" *shot*
Lol. No
This is great, but nothing non-Americans can just go and check out :(
EU servers plz
+supajasiu Just wait till they hire french waiter :p
Watches over another person putting in the answers and writes them on his own.
What?! I'm a thief! I make a living on this! :D
+IPsycho Doodle They change the answers every week, so you better offload your answers really quickly.
Tsarius
Seriously? Oh poo, I need more points in charisma then.
*practices in a mirror*
+IPsycho Doodle Don't forget to put some skill points into Mercantile.
So I'm assuming the next full review will be of Black Desert right?
+RadioRabbitz Next full review? No. There's something slated for the end of February before that, and Black Desert doesn't launch until March.
ChaosD1 I see. so the next review after the one at the end of this month will be the Black Desert review?
***** That was not a very good review.
***** I'm sorry if you feel that way about the game

rocketprime yeah ya do need to
My ineer child is pleased.
iv done that before we didnt do it ths year because of the covid 19 and this is really fun

Nice! :D
Gah people who want to be a wizard read the black arts by Richard Cavindesh.
If you want to be a work or do some re-enactments.
"Just one more place I want to stop by"
IS IT THE GIFT SHOP??
Seriously, though. What's in their gift shop? Crappy shirts or actual cool stuff? I... I ask because of a kid... That wants to know... *cough*
+BM03 Kinda both, but one of those places your "victory coupon" works at is a sword and knife shop. So there's that.
Massive Multiplayer Online In Real Life
wat
+DigiLychee
Examples include:
Going To The Beach 2k15
Walk Da Park Golden
Get2GedEr Unlimited (also called G2GEU)
But what if you don't have an imagination?
+Arstellum Get fucking hammered.
It's supposed to frustrate you lol
Looks like the gear selection and skills are lacking.
Can't even play this game with a VPN...
