Oh hell yeah, best thing to become
A W E S O M E
Hello!
congrats on defeating the dragon and becoming a master magi, midnight!!
I didn't know this even exsisted and I have mixed feelings about it after hearing about it.sounds cool but idk sounds like it'd get pretty boring quickly
Cannot WAIT for the sequel in 2039.
I hope it's still around then! If not, we should make our own bootleg Magiquest, lol!
pbg i now expect you to make a video on this
@@dylanflannigan7785 I would like to see pbg doing a video on this.
You think you might ever try it Peebs?
Oh mah gawd. It's penoot buda gamer!
Crazy to think that Luke’s progress was saved since 2005
absolutely nuts
Shoutouts to whoever manages their database
If he takes that wand to one of the older locations, with the same version of the game Myrtle had, he should be able to see exactly which quests and adventures he went on.
I work at a GWL in PA and it literally will save your progress forever. As long as you know your info it should be in the system.
@@caitlinbjerklie6924 I went to that one many times as a kid!!
Before the Myrtle Beach location shut down, it was a must-visit every time my family went (I still have my wand). In my late 20's I would get obnoxiously into it, complete with wand flourishes, olde English speak, and a boisterous medieval stride throughout the MagiQuest for the sole purpose of embarrassing my moody teenage brother.
Also, 'Midnight Sizemore' is now an official NPC in my DnD campaign.
Yeah, I remember going there as well. It was a really fun idea, wish it did better in Myrtle Beach.
Grew up playing the OG MagiQuest at Great Wolf Lodge and in Myrtle Beach. Lovely to see a video about it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Oh! I didn’t know they had one in myrtle beach. In hindsight that makes sense lol.
@@chadtronic You've been on a roll with the past couple of videos. Grew up with the Piggly Wiggly VHS and now this?! Massive props.
@@astrowolvez Yeah, the location closed back in 2015. Now there's only a few places you can play it now.
Same.
I once went to a great wolf lodge, this one guy went around the entire place in a wizard outfit and completed it in one day. Wonderful. (I've become a master magi and it's the biggest accomplishment I've ever done.)
I went to great wolf lodge twice when I was 12 and I still have my magiquest wand, I'm 16 now but I wanna go back and plus that place was really fun
It has gotten more kiddie with time sadly, with the reboots its the age range GWL targets. Back when I worked on it we had expansions focusing on repeat players, and the older ones seeking a proper challenge.
I've m r heard of this till now
I remember playing the old one and It was definitely a better experience, having more content, bosses, and Even The compass quest DLC that came years later, and then played the new one, it felt way shorter and blander.
@@FlippyLuigi Yeah! I remember those compass quests, I also remember one of them involved gathering different crystals in a certain order, but it was under a pretty tight time limit
I think that's just a way for them to survive and appeal to all audiences. Even if it is a little cheesy, sometimes as an adult if you just let the campy cringyness of it pass you by then I'm sure it's still fun! We gotta get in touch with our inner corny child sometimes. It seems like there's a lot of exploration and things that all ages can enjoy
Bruh
Quite fittingly I’m watching this right now at a Great Wolf Lodge.
Get a wand already
@Olivia 757 the one in Anaheim
Chad, thank you for your support.
*to the bathrooom*
NO, thank YOU Master Magi Midnight 🌙🧙♂
So story about when I worked at GWL-
I worked at the front desk for 3 years. Got ‘pack member of the month’ a few times. But the MagiQuest event was always around. So we had two otters above the desk that gave tips and also said ‘pretty nifty wand work there’ in a southern accent. Well when they upgraded MQ about 2 years into my job there, the otters lost speaking code somewhere. However I could mimic them. So for two whole shifts I got paid to sit in a room beside them with a microphone and read the script. Good times.
Oh yeah, that line plays in my head constantly lol.
That’s cool!
Virgin families: Go to Great Wolf Lodge to enjoy the indoor waterpark
Meanwhile the CHADtronic and Yungtown: *MagiQuest*
Something to note, while you DO need to show proof you stay there if you wanna go to the waterpark, you don't need to stay at the lodge to do MagiQuest. This is an absolute win for all the ladies and fricks.
Bloomington was a conversion of Waterpark of America, Great Wolf took it over
I promise though that if the current management actually cared about MQ that it’d be a lot better than random effects just strewn about. Legacy lodges had the game properly integrated into the resort with themed hallways
oh look it's glorious and respectable leader kim jong un!!!
You can buy a day pass now for the waterpark, you dont have to stay there! I planned on going for a day but was too busy playing magiquest 😅
I remember doing this at a great wolf lodge years back. it's honestly so cool that something this fun and interactive exists in the first place.
Agreed.
Always seen Great Wolf Lodge commercials when I was a kid but never got to go. The "I've Got a Golden Ticket" tune from Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory playing while Chad gets 100 gold at 9:12 was such perfectly timed
Also can we talk about the genius of the Bloomington location? It's right outside both the airport AND Mall of America (and Mall of America has a transit station that takes you right into the city)...couldn't have picked a more convenient location
6:18 - This is why you invite a friend who has kids and offer to take them through Magiquest while they go to a bar or something
"Oh yeah I'm babysitting"
...Or just not give a care and let the glares of parents who don't understand adults can have fun too give you strength
I could honestly see myself, my mother, and my uncle all going through this and having a blast as three adult weirdos XD
The GWL you were playing in looked especially “after thought-y.” The one in Mason, Ohio felt like it had more low-traffic areas for the game and better placements overall.
The one in the Poconos was also pretty well integrated, if my memory serves me
Surprised it remembered Luke's progress. The new MQ team has been really messing up the global database.
I remember going to a MagiQuest location in December 2009 when my parents and I visited Pigeon Forge, Tennessee for winter vacation. I remember that it had the elements of a medieval role-playing game. You would use the wand to open chests for gold and gain experience points as you progress through each of the rooms. I still have my MagiQuest wand from back then.
You running to the bathroom with the cloak flapping behind you made you look like Batman.
Absolutely hilarious.
I found the Pigeon Forge location like 5 years ago and it was my first one. It was AMAZING. My spouse and I both loved it. We bought wands, kept our books and planned on going to one of the ones at Great Wolf Lodge after finding out about them. Unfortunately, we were ruined by playing at Pigeon Forge first because the Great Wolf locations are pathetic in comparison. They are just glorified hallways, whereas the Pigeon Forge one is like a full experience with hidden passages and cool props and settings.
The Magiquest I go to yearly in Pigeon Forge is the Legacy version. Probably one of my favorite places to work on my skills as a Magi.
Used to go to that one all the time. Was an extremely memorable place.
@@Shelltoast Where, the one at Myrtle Beach? Because you can still go to both the one in Pigeon Forge and the ones in the Great Wolf Lodge hotels.
@@SidRulz100 the one in Pigeon Forge Tennessee. My family used to go on road trips there. If I ever end up back there I’d without a doubt check out Magiquest again.
@@Shelltoast You can still go there. And you should. ;)
Love me some MagiQuest and love to see people talking about it! One of my friends was an employee at our local GWL and showed me all of the secrets each time we went there!
Fun fact about this particular Great Wolf Lodge location with living within the vicinity of it in MN: this wasn’t always a Great Wolf Lodge as before it it was actually known as Waterpark of America, name is such because of it being directly across from Mall of America there in Bloomington
I haven’t been back ever since it was re-branded as a Great Wolf Lodge, but I have been to the one in Wisconsin Dells (which is the one that started at all before they eventually became a chain) and also did MagiQuest there when I was there back in early 2020 before the pandemic hit. Like the only remaining free-standing location in Pigeon Forge, TN, the Wisconsin Dells location also has the legacy version of the game. Still have my wand that I got when I was there, but have never been back to there or another location ever since. Hopefully I can make it to either Great Wolf Lodge in Bloomington, or even the only remaining free-standing location in Pigeon Forge, TN before they potentially close down someday (and from what I heard from another commenter here, it sounds like their future is very bleak).
I drive by it every day I had no idea thats what it was called.
Great video, Chad. Hope you get to go to Pigeon. Things aren't looking to well for them, entire features like dueling are broken there, so at this rate we're all quite concerned about them.
I remember when I thought it was a good idea to speedrun the entire game, That didn’t end well. I just speed ran master magi (no elevator allowed) and my legs literally died at the end, opened the final chest and that ended me falling on the floor.
OMG same me and my cousin beat it in 2 days running up and down the stairs and for some reason never even used an elevator, we even went swimming after.Still have no clue how we had enough stamina to do all of that
Dude, we played at a great wolf lodge where all the objects were spread across 4 floors. We complete the quest in two days and my legs were dying at the end, even with the occasional elevator ride.
Yes, me
yesterday
I did the same thing in under an hour and my legs still have red marks from those stairs
Grew up in a small town only 2 hours away from Myrtle Beach. This is crazy to see this bit of my childhood get recognition. This is a truly special video to me. Thanks to Chad and Luke
I'm interested.
@@SinKillerJ Same here.
@@SinKillerJ OH MY GOD ITS YOU!!!
@@wherfus Could not help the shitpost lol.
This kinda makes me think about the old Battletech centers, where they had pods that simulated the controls of a battlemech. Not really around anymore, but there's a dedicated hobbyist base keeping the pods working.
Holy crap
You beat me to it my good sir
I was gonna try to speed run this yet, you beat me to this good sir
I congratulate you and your quest.
I grew up playing this at the Great wolf in Pennsylvania. Had so much fun. Never beat it. It was great watching this!
I have to say, these videos of old interactive games and all the physical game stuff you show is really entertaining and informative. I really appreciate these types of video you make
bro magiquest was my CHILDHOOD. i still have my wand fron way back when I first played it. it's a model that they dont even make anymore and i have a lotta fond memories with that want. if you haven't played magiquest yet please do give it a go whenever you can. it's a really underrated gem
Oh man I remember this.
I might still have my wand from way back when I first went to one of these
it's time to pick up the wand once again...
@@chadtronic yep
@@chadtronic yessir
Do you remember your magi name
@@tvted1351 oh absolutely not
When i saw this, i had to immediately stop what i was doing and watch this. This brought back SO many memories. Me and my family were obsessed with MagiQuest when we went down to Myrtle Beach. I believe my grandma or one of my relatives still have our magic wands. It's a shame that the Myrtle Beach location closed down a few years back
The fact that you have the EXACT same wand set up as me made me laugh. The dragon topper with the fancy red wand base.
Anyways I'm 23 and a few years back I went to a GWL with a friend to play this ans we had fun with the adventure. We actually have done two different GWL MagiQuest locations and it is a struggle to run around times for the times you need but it's good exercise.
And I'd gladly go back to do it again just for the satisfaction of feeling magical as my want lights crystals and other items up lol.
I saw the dedicated magiquest when I was in Pigeon Forge! It was wierd seeing a midieval style castle among all the nature-themed tourist shops and such.
seeing half the buildings in pigeon forge is rlly funny
I went there once and always wanted to go back but holy cow I wish they made these closer to actually play it
They’re still opening more, maybe you will get to play it eventually
@Olivia 757 I know that now, I just went there a week ago. Very disappointed.
@Olivia 757 The one at the poconos PA GWL, although I didn’t play it I just saw some people play it
@Olivia 757 I just saw the screens while people were playing, it literally looks like an anime video game lol
I used to work at the one in Myrtle Beach!! One of the best jobs ever! Great memories, I miss that place.
Truly the best staff that ever graced the game. Sam was always a bit prickly, but she was just trying to keep order lol.
I played once at the Pigeon Forge location as a teenager... Now I'm heading back to Pigeon Forge on vacation in a couple months and in reaaaally tempted to visit again
I played this as a kid at the Great Wolf Lodge. Never thought I’d ever see I RUclipsr I know talk about it lol. Lots of great memories tied to this. Great vid!
Don’t let this video distract you from the fact that Nintendo made a red wii
Blood Wii
I played MagiQuest when I was 16 at the Traverse City location, and I remember there was one chest near the stairs that was broken, so while most chests would give you gold and then be locked for several minutes so you could keep exploring, this one chest you could keep opening repeatedly. I remember my brother and I just stood there taking turns grinding gold from that chest for half an hour.
Edit: I also remember this super cool and hard set of Compass quests you could get while I was there, wonder if Chad will go back to do those sometime?
I am currently at said location!
Can confirm the Pigeon Forge is amazing!! There are shortcuts between realms, multiple boss fights and themed area. It's entirely on the second floor so all traffic is MagiQuest traffic. I'd love to see a follow up of just that location
Man this brought me back to when me and some old friends went to Great Wolf Lodge for a friend's birthday. Man, it's something that I'm never gonna forget
I spent my entire childhood playing magiquest at myrtle beach on family vacations. There was one day out of the week we were on vacation where my parents would go to broadway at the beach, and let me play magiquest. I had just gotten to Master Magi. When I went on vacation the next year after reaching that rank, it was closed, and I haven’t played since. Last year, I went to broadway to look at the building, and it had been demolished. Not gonna lie, I cried. Seeing one of my favorite RUclipsrs play something that was near and dear to me, and many others, brings a joy like no other. Thank you.
I think the idea of having a sort of video game in real life is VERY cool. Whoever created Magiquest is a genius to me.
(Also just realized Yungtown has a Snatcher plush in the background of his video. I have respect for him. ALONG WITH CHAD!)
As someone whos been in the community for AGES playing and just loving the game, I don't think I've ever been more just flabbergasted to see a more than 200 viewer channel talk about it. Just WOW. I'm so just shocked. Beyond thrilled.
I actually live about an hour and thirty minutes from Pigeon Forge. I was probably around 14 when I first played it with my mom, we played it 4 times in a span of roughly 2 years. It's been about 14 years since then, but seeing this has got me feeling pretty nostalgic and interested in playing again! I'm pretty sure I still have my wand stored away somewhere...
Aw man, that looked so much fun.
I also wish to go to the Tennessee one.
And congrats to Midnight for completing their life long quest.
The Tennessee one is alot of fun, from what i remember
OMG THATS WHAT THIS WAS CALLED?!
I played this at a friend’s birthday party years ago and I never knew what it actually was. I still have my wand somewhere I think!
Great video, Chad.
I’ve been to Great Wolf Lodge once in my life. I saw magic quest, but I never actually played it. I did however, win a stuffed animal in a claw machine in the arcade and gave it to my sister who promptly lost it.
I've been to the standalone Pidgeon Forge and Williamsburg GWL locations many times. The PF location is awesome; there are doors that open with the wand and even a key that you could buy to unlock the door to the Goblin King (not sold anymore sadly). Unfortunately, that location only has MagiQuest Legacy (original 2005 version + ice dragon expansion). After GWL bought Creative Kingdoms, the GWLs got updated versions of MagiQuest with additional content, but the standalone was left behind. Regardless, the PF location is a more immersive, nostalgic experience that's worth traveling for, Chad!
The magiquest in Myrtle Beach was a vital part of my childhood, I'm so sad it's gone
I first played magiquest when I was around 7, and fell in love so fast. Even at 21 I will occasionally drive out with a friend to the nearby Great Wolf to play for a couple hours.
The best memory I have with the game was when I was with my family for a weekend, and while everyone was swimming in the waterpark I was playing Magiquest, never going to the park cause I was so focused on beating the bosses.
I just discovered Magiquest 14 days ago during a group trip to the Great Wolf Lodge in Lagrange GA. In those two weeks I've now played at 7 different locations on a midwest road trip. I've fallen hard for this game. I'm sad I've only now just discovered it, but happy that it's never too late!
I’ve been there! Never beat that damn White Dragon from the classic days…
Awesome video! I went to the Myrtle Beach one several times as a kid and at the time I had no idea it was the original location. The whole building felt huge and was really themed, it was awesome. I want to take my wife and go to the TN location so bad now!!
I always wanted to do this as a kid, although I have memories of kids constantly running down the hall being obnoxiously loud yelling and screaming they found the next piece of the puzzle.
I was one of the leads at the Cincinnati GWL for a few years a while ago, after doing the Pigeon Forge standalone location. They have 3 different storylines to play, so there's a bunch of quests to go on. Definitely an immersive experience with lots of replay value. I used to do the bosses all the time. I'd love to check out some of the other ones some time....
Man Great Wolf Lodge brings back memories. Me and my brother beat the original quests but the compass quest was a nightmare.
There was a timed mission in the compass quests that I had to repeat three times before I beat it. You had to gather the different colored crystals around the hotel in a certain order, but the time limit was so short it made it so you had to remember where all the crystals were and what best route to take to get them in time
@@RandomUser8P yeah the issue we had was we did all the tasks but ran out of time because of how long the lines were and of course there was only one thing for the compass quest.
I never got to play this at my many visits to the Williamsburg location, but as a kid I would always stop to see what the other kids were up to in MagiQuest. Always wanted one of the wands so I could play, but it wasn't what my parents were paying for. Thank you guys for this nostalgia trip of a game I never really got to play, but always saw glimpses of!
This video (which i watched years ago) inspired me to go and check it out today! Loved just being a kid again. Fun to see how things changed from your video till now.
YES Im from Cincinnati and i cant believe i've missed this video this is one of my most favorite and loving childhood memories I am so happy you guy got to play it and form what i can tell each location is different and that is just the magic of the game every location you get a new experience. The one at Cincinnati is a lot more centralized so there is a lot less of being in peoples way and its great. Also the one in Tennessee I went to and it was a very cool experience I felt very immersed (sadly I wasn't there for long). Sorry for the longer comment I just had to gush about one of my favorite irl games just so glad to see one of my favorite youtubers cover this amazing game I'm hoping for more great content bro keep it up.
This is some nostalgia you just unlocked thanks man. The whole thing was just so cool when I was younger
Also don't know if it was at that location but I faintly remember compass quest also being a part of it
I only ever played this at one of the GWLs in Texas, but I will always remember those days where my parents would just let me loose and do MagiQuest stuff all day. I would grind the same three quests over and over, the whole time chewing ice from the hotel ice machines. I specifically remember how hilarious it was that there were quest required items in the completely unthemed, industrial stairways that you would find in like a parking garage.
A kid hit me in the face with his wand because I was “taking too long” at one of the bosses
Went to Great Wolf Lodge and played Magi Quest for the first time around a year ago. I may have been a little old for it, but it was still really fun and just a fun experience overall. This was a fun watch!
I've never even heard of Great Wolf Creek dodge let alone MagiQuest. It's like I spent the past twenty years in a parallel universe. When I was young it was Yogi Bear campground/lodge, going to the Alamo, and eating at Medieval Times: Dinner and Tournament.
I used to go to the Myrtle Beach one as a kid and I have fond memories of defeating the red dragon. I think I only did it twice but I always walked by the building like every summer growing up. I still probably have my blue dragon wand around somewhere lol
i remember playing it at a great wolf when I was a kid. It was honestly really fun to get to run around this whole building to find all the different quest objectives.
I went to a different one years later, they had the whole thing gated off to one big room. it probably made more sense for them to do that, but it made the whole thing way less fun
I’ve seen the building in Pigeon Forge whenever my family decides to go up there for a vacation, had no idea that it was the only stand-alone one left! I’ll definitely have to take a look next time I end up there.
revisiting this video after a year, and dude the edit on this is absolutely incredible
On the topic of the Pigeon Forge location, I've actually never been there. Even though I have visited Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge every year for the past 3 or 4 years. Now I can get a fairly nice quality check of the general locations. Thanks Chad!

This is a blast from the past oh my god...
Thank you for bringing a part of my childhood back. I used to go to magiquest ALL THE TIME, it was in my local mall and shut down in like 2014. I miss it so much. I gotta travel ALL THE WAY TO WISCONSIN to go to one now. ):
i remember playing magiquest one time on a trip to great wolf lodge, back when I was probably 10-12 or so. i couldn't tell you what location we were at, but my scout troop was there for a few days as our big trip we took yearly after our cookie sales and we all begged our parents for wands. the set up there though was WAY more barebones than what's even seen here. there was like a "hub" area that was some trees with screens in them, and you talked to some pre-recorded wizard man to get all your quests. then all the objects were kind of just scattered around the lodge haphazardly. but at the time it felt like it was THE coolest thing ever and we all got really into it while we were there. we spent hours running around in our pajamas trying to finish questlines. i think part of the magic of it was not only the idea we were ALLOWED to run around a hotel on purpose, but that we were able to kind of make up our own fun along the way.
i have no idea where I finished at. i know I had the most basic wand (because they were so expensive jesus christ), and my brother had one too. i think we kept ours for a few years but they got lost after we moved a few times, or we got rid of them when we figured we'd never go back. i genuinely would have a blast just going on vacation by myself to a lodge for a few days to play magiquest by myself, even in that barebones version i played.
also, in fairness, i registered my wand under "pikachu", so midnight is at least thematically correct.
EDIT: totally forgot about this, but there was one quest I remember specifically that drove us crazy for a few hours trying to finish it, because it was timed, and you had to hit specific items around the hotel before the timer ran out, and since there were a bunch of floors to our particular locations, we quite literally just had to bolt for the elevators and hope we could make it in enough time. i THINK we did beat it, but it's possible that's where our time ended.
@Olivia 757 I'm not sure, but my guess would be Legacy. from what i can tell off Google 2.0 didn't come out until 2014, and i know what time period i was in scouts was way before that ( 2009-2010?)
8:05 scariest jumpscare in chadtronic history
Now this hits my nostalgia. I remember going to a Great Wolf Lodge and loving this when I was a kid, but I never got to finish it.
I got to play MagiQuest at the original GWL in Wisconsin Dells (MagiQuest itself at this location is built around the old play/slide area that was there since the beginning, which makes it an interesting surrounding area to play the game in). I have kept my two wands, and have slain the dragon (I was also 16 at the time, surrounded by kids lol). I am also hoping to work at a GWL location someday! I overall think the whole fantasy game/theme is so cool!
i've never heard of this before but i've seen the magiquest building in pigeon forge countless times (since me and my family like to travel up there a few times a year).
Still have my wand years and years later, I have this defunct blue crystal wand topper from myrtle beach and it makes me feel special. the game is really fun.
I grew up thirty minutes from an original full-scale location, and it was cool. It was always our go-to when it was raining or cold and we wanted to do something. I even had a friend who had his birthday party there. They used to have a whole set of second level quests, and I got to the final two quests before mine closed. I even learned some sign language, Braille, and Morse code from the higher level quests- the communication one specifically.
I was so jealous of my cousins that got to go to the Myrtle Beach location when it was a thing! Ive always went to the one at the Pocono Mountains and that place had some of my fondest childhood memories. One day ill play it once again, possibly with the CompassQuest expansion.
The Magiquest in Pigeon Forge is amazing the whole second floor is the game and on the downstairs there is a arcade, pirate golf, and Mirror maze. They don’t require you to buy a wand although buying one adds to the experience
I remember seeing all the magiquest stuff when I went to GWL a few times as a kid. None of us ever bothered with it, since we were all always there for the water parks.
this is so sweet returning to something so nostalgic
I LOVED this game when I went to the Great Wolf Lodge in Atlanta. Completed it in one day because I was so hooked
Earlier this year I went to a GWL with my older sister and my niece and she absolutely loved MagiQuest.
She still has her wand and everything.
I would totally watch a movie of Chadtronic and Yungtown just running around with those capes on like they're superhero wizards or something. LMAO! 🤣
Chadtronic: "We must save the President from the evil Elmo plushie! But, first, we need nourishment! Quick! To McDonald's!".
Hell, imagine if it was about a multiversal adventure involving alt universe versions of Chad! It could be titled "Adventure Through The Multiverse of Chadness". LMAO! 🤣
I live less than a day's drive from the one in the Poconos, and back when I was working at my local YMCA I had a few kids that did yearly trips to Great Wolf Lodge. They knew I was into any and everything fantasy, so all, and I literally mean ALL, of them said "MISS LAURA YOU HAVE TO PLAY MAGIQUEST! IT IS SO AWESOME!" Unfortunately, I was always too poor to go to any of the Great Wolf Lodge locations, so I never got a chance. It is nice living vicariously through you guys, though.
ive been playing magiquest since I was little. watching this brought back soo many memories. beating that red dragon was exicting lol. also chad if you go to pigeon forge they have the ice dragon and silver dragon boss fight...yalls quest aint over yet!
i love how the minecraff guy as made his 3rd appearance on this channel
Epic keep up the great job chadtronic. I support the project you and Luke made together it's impressive that it took 17 years to finish it.
So, fun fact: I live near the TN location, and the majority of MagiQuest is located on the second floor of the building. The first floor has mini golf and a few other attractions. Played Magic the Gathering with some friends in the break/meeting room on the third floor once upon a time when my friends worked there, but have yet to actually play MagiQuest itself at the location.
I played the one at pigeon forge and honestly I can't wait to go back
Omg I remember this game! Me and my sisters have been thinking of visiting one of the locations to play again. I remember once in the myrtle beach location that I figured out a quest that nobody else could and my family got me a pendant with the symbol for that quest on it! (I was like 7 at the time so my family was impressed) Great video like always!
This game was my slow descend into my Renaissance/Fantasy Obsession. Still love it and played it with my DND group while we all are in character at a GWL location and... you can expect the rest.
the Teifling Bard simped over Princess Cadence, I (A DM and A Holy Wizard when not running the horror show) simped with her and the Barbarian Dwarf broke the boss fight from smacking the screen to select a attack so yeah..
May Good times stay and the Magic Be with you Fellow Magi!
Some really obscure magiquest lore is that there is an official PC game. Completing what was on the disc was supposed to unlock the silver dragon on the next visit, with subsequent episodes doing the same. There was only that first episode made, and the silver dragon was changed to be accessible through other means.
I recently visited the GWL in PA(used to go every year as a kid) to see how they do MagiQuest nowadays, and im sad at how much its changed for the littler kids. Also they got rid of the dragons lair and Ursa Major questline!
I worked at a GWL as a MagiQuest employee. Honestly its a really fun game even if you think youre too old its a great time. I gotta say tho at my location at least stuff broke constantly. We even got trained on how to fix some of the inner mechanics of the game because of how frequently it broke. Usually a computer reset worked but on occasion we had to go and hard reset whatever was having an issue.
Working Magiquest is fun you had to be in character. We arent allowed to just give out answers to the quests and man sometimes adults would get like actually mad and its like bro its policy I cant tell you dude. We had to make up in character hints and stuff and that was fun. The way kids just would think you were the COOLEST ever when you fixed something that broke always made me happy. One kid told me I was his hero when I fixed a broken game element.
Played it only once at a FunPlex in my home state. It was confined to a little part of the indoor complex, so you werent interrupting other guests while they were walking, but sometimes you did bump into other kids playing. I played it back in like 2011? So it was out for a while, and had different quests to do. At this location you were able to get rented wands but were not able to take them home lol. I did not finish my quest sadly, but I remember having fun being able to run around with a magic wand lol. Sadly, this MagiQuest got shut down in 2016, so I will never be able to finish my quest like Midnight TTOTT.
HOW DOES THIS NOT HAVE MORE VIEWS, MagiQuest was my childhood 😭
I still have my wand ontop of my shelf.
I had a similar memory of someone going “back into the database” where me and my brother went in, I named myself “Dragon” (creative, I know.) and my brother named himself “Baldy McNosehair” and I remember the hotel we went to had a special channel with leaderboards in it, like “Most gold found” or something, and seeing “Baldy McNosehair” top all of the charts is a permanent memory that will always fester in the back of my brain.
