I like how in ways these two characters couldn't have been more similar... both mothers died giving them life, both had their own childhood demons, Jon a bitch of a stepmother possessed by her resent and jealousy, Daenerys a psychotic brother who was damaged from his own trauma. Both always tried to be decent people, to do the right thing, to help people.

Funny, I always imagined this as the music when Jon plunged his sword into her heart in front of the Iron Throne to forge Lightbringer, when she gave up all her destiny to be Queen in front of the one thing she wanted most to save the things that truly mattered to her, the people.

I hate myself for watching the show, i felt abandoned, confused and hopeless after her death. I had to put on two days leave and keep sleeping to find an escapist comfort. I was so stupid to let myself to be attached to a tv show like that. Fuck.. it still hurts like hell. :/
And there are some Jonsa fans out there who are 100% certain that he just used her for her dragons from the beginning. Can you imagine what they will say if the books come out and we can actually read from Jon’s point of view and he actually does love her?

That relationship could never ended with happy ending and this music was telling us that all along. This is too tragic to end well.
An incredible theme for them. I just wish the actual relationship was developed and shown more properly. There were moments that were sweet, but overall their lovestory didn't feel very convincing. Such a shame.

I liked the love story... I think Emilia Clarke's acting was great in how you can see how her regard of Jon changes throughout season 7. She starts to respect him, then to love him. Jon's indications aren't as present.
Could have been a lot more done. I really think Daenerys fell deeply in love with Jon, and it was hugely significant to her and to Jon's characters. Then in S8, it's kinda not really there for the most part.
Jon really needed to get his head out of his ass. His duty WAS love... and he failed.
@@FrayAdjacentTX thank you same here. I think this last season should have been two seasons, 8 and 9, with Jon and Dany's love story as the emotional back bone exploring how it affects their ideals, political circumstances in the north, the Stark family and their perception of Dany, etc.
I just wish we got more of a “middle” with Jon and Dany. We never got to see them just be a couple for a few episodes
We needed one more season with 10 episodes that showed them as a couple and then her descent into madness.
Imagine if we had 2 seasons of that and then they found out about Jon's true lineage. The fallout would have felt way more real and sad.
This theme deserves better than GOT. Ramin will always be my King for music, now and always, until the end of my days.

I can't honestly tell you _why_ but everytime I open this video and go in the description to read the name of the themes I feel sick in the pit of my stomach and melancholic. It's the combination of the first song and the various words. "Nothing lasts forever. Be with me. Stay a thousand years."
Goddamn it. I wanted so much more. From them, and from the show. Their love story in the books is going to hit me hard.
There's no way we can prepare for whats to come... but here we stand.
8:04 That touch of 'Truth' played When Jon came out of the prison, walked down the stairs and looked up at King's landing, was like a brief recap of all those moments of Jon & Dany from the moment they met at dragonstone till their last time together ended here! For a second it felt like Jon is walking on that same dragonstone bridge once again to meet Dany like the very first time, except only it wasn't! Really Can't believe their fate ended like this!

Daenerys is not a villain. She is tragic fallen hero who could have everything (wise rule, love, family) but her desire for only one thing, the Iron Throne ruined her, turn her to paranoia and fear and hate.
Jon is also a tragic hero who had nothing in the start, then seemed he could have it all (family, love, rule) and also gave it all for greater good of all others but himself.
They were really ice and fire.

Their theme is one of the most well created pieces of music in all of film in my honest opinion. Not only does the piece combine melodies from jon's house stark theme and daenarys's winds of winter theme but it combines instruments that were otherwise stranger to each other in the context of the show. The best example of what im talking about is right around 6:30 where it sounds like its leading leading into the "aaaaAAAA" part of danys theme but it plays the melody over the drum beat instead.
I like the segment that starts at 4:03. at 4:32 I love the 4 note part.the way they sweep and meld into each other it makes me feel some sorta way.

@@noia7602 No, it isn't. But for some readers/watchers it can be better to have an ending that you did not predict (assuming that ending is still quality). Cliche is often predictable. D&D went for pure surprise/shock factor, and even there, they failed (at least on my part, I and many others saw everything coming a mile away).
At least it's better than what Dumb & Dumber came up with. Both the Targaryens willingly sacrificing everything and becoming immortals.
😭This. This would be THE ending for the series. But nooo, all we wanted to do was "subvert your expectations", have as many plot twists as possible, blah blah blah. Difference is, Martin's twists had an impact, both on the characters and the story.
I was so sure the Dany-Jon theme would be at the center of her death via child birth with Jon holding holding the newborn and balling in tears. That would’ve been all time epic
I wanted Jon and Dany to make it thru and be together. I hated the ending. They deserved better. All of us did.

It was basically they decided to shaft a few people and give everyone else a dandy ending. Which made the ending even more unsatisfying and hollow.

I saw a laughable "Jon used Dany" comment and I rolled my eyes like Bran. There is no point analyzing season 8 Jon when he is essentially reduced to a bot with only 4 lines. It's an insult to characters and audience. I believe Jonerys will be 100 times more epic, heart-wrenching and satisfying in the book, as GRRM told a season1 director that a song of ice and fire is about Jon＆Dany. Imagine reading their story while listening to this beautiful piece of music. By the way, out of all GOT theme, Truth/Stay A Thousand Years is the ONLY one that belongs to two characters. It's not about one single character, nor about a certain House. It's about the love tragedy between Jon and Dany.
I would say "love in the eyes" is a theme that belongs to Drogo and Daenerys (two characters) and "you know nothing" is a theme that belongs to Jon and Ygritte (also two characters).
So there have been other themes that belonged to two people.
But I would say the Jonerys love theme is the greatest of them all.

This is so heartbreaking. So many people are calling Daenerys - the Mad Queen. Why? Because she protected the realms of human & Jon in S8 Ep3. Shame the writers butchered her character arc right in the very next Ep 4. What classic writing. Not to mention in S7 Ep 6, she went alone to save everyone's beloved Jon, Tormund, Jorah, Hound, Berric, and lost Viserion in the process. She wasn't mad at that time risking her life for them and not heeding Tyrion's advice? She didn't want to be the queen so badly at that time? Why show such heroic deeds of her, make us love her. Overnight she turned into such a sinister woman? Dumb & Dumber, surpassed Dumbest and came up with Dumbshit and so many people bought it. In shows, writers have always favored her character unlike books. In books it might have still be believable that she could turn this way but not in the show. For me Jon
A Song of Ice and Fire is the anti-fantasy show. It was always going to break the cliches. So the ending was going to happen like this. Execution was really bad though. They jumped too fast from her saving the north to destroying king’s landing

Game of Thrones is the show. Which poorly executed its last two seasons. Instead of bringing Season 7 in frame of 10 episodes - with last one ending with huge cliffhanger - Daenerys learning about Jon's true identity literally minutes before the battle with the Night King and not taking the news well at all.
Then this final season also with 10 episodes (perhaps 60-70 minutes each) with Night King also being defeated in Episode 3 and then we would have full seven episodes of Daenerys defeating Cersei and taking the rule, descending deeper and deeper into paranoia, hate and tyrannical state after being crowned and seated on the Iron Throne and culminating with her death by the hand of Jon Snow in the final episode of the show.
That would give the show enough screen-time to elaborate the tragic story of Daenerys Targaryen.
Her sitting on the throne would add even more to the story how chair made of swords corrupt people (if we take that Iron Throne is to Martin what One Ring is to Tolkien).
The way it was done and delivered to audience - rushed, shallow, unconvincing, persuading viewers into the Evil Daenerys thing thru Tyrion and Varys debating and Sansa's worried stare away - plus reducing Jon Snow to dumb sidekick with two lines "I dun wan'it", "She's muh queen".
Daenerys certainly was not a villain like Ramsay, Joffrey, like Euron should have been (in Martin's books he is evil incarnate not Westerosi Jack Sparrow), she is a tragic character, kind of Isildur of GOT. And tragic characters deserve detailed and intelligent development.
Last two seasons of GOT failed to bring the Jon/Daenerys tragic story to the screen in satisfying way. And that story has such a potential. Hopefully, GRRM will do that in the books (if he ever gets to finish them).

My two favorite characters in the series, I will never get right what they did to them, the most wronged couple in the series, I hope that in the books they meet and stay together and never leave each other.
This love story is the only thing in S8 that makes it enjoyable for me. The books would definitely make it better. It's sad that GoT could've been 13 seasons long, I would've watched it all. If I was Jon I would've chose Daenarys over anything and kept the secret a secret or at least wait and tell after the war. Happiness rules all, for me

I just like to imagine something else. Like one comment said that Stay A Thousand Years could have been played when they got married in the Sept. (if they even had a sept anymore....). Or just a happy ending between them. God, I wouldn't care if they both had died. Just not the way they did. (If they had a child between them that would have been even better. Like here was what could have happened. Jon could have died instead because maybe Euron finally became the Book Euron and used all his magic stuff, like maybe blowing up a bunch of stuff with sea dragons or something (anything really). Dany could have died giving birth to a child. I wouldn't even care if creepy Bran became king while the child grew up without their parents. And Tyrion and maybe another few characters could have raised the child. Sure it would kind of be a cliff hanger, but it leaves us on a better path than Drogon flying off with Daenarys' body or Jon going to the "real North with the wildings" Personally, I would have loved this ending. And even though it might seem like a happy ending, it partially isn't since they both die. Oh. And in this story Dany doesn't burn down all of King's Landing. Just the Red Keep.

All the westerosi completely betrayed her and tore her to pieces. She’ll forever be my queen and I don’t care what anyone says. Her character was fucked from the writers giving the starks a happy ending. You can all go on this bullshit theory that she was mad from the beginning but in my opinion she was the most inspiring and ruthless but gentle. Everyone slowly turned to her rule because they chose her and admired her. Ever since she landed in Westeros they pushed her to the point where she didn’t care about anything anymore and into severe depression. It’s absolutely disgusting what they did to her. Imagine them having a child because the targaryen blood can override the curse only to find out that daenerys has to be sacrificed to fulfill the azor ahai prophecy and it must happen now meaning she once again can't hold her son and Jon loses everything and will be forced to sit the iron throne which he despises.
