I'm so glad they brought Taggart back. He was sorely missed in Cop 3. What makes this faithful to the original three is someone close to Axel is in danger. In Cop 1, Mike was murdered. In Cop 2, Bogomil got hurt. And in Cop 3, Todd was murdered. And now, Billy is the one in danger. This makes it full circle.

The late Kirk Douglas once said that his job as an actor was to make people forget about their problems for a couple of hours. Looks like this movie will deliver exactly that. That movie trailer makes me feel like I will be going on a fun filled adventure with some long lost friends. Jeez, I need that right now. Welcome back Eddie and the Gang. It's gonna be a lot of fun.......
PS: Like many other commenters, I wish this movie were released in theaters. You HAVE to watch it on the big screen with a bag of popcorn to get the full experience. I may get a projector to watch it. A computer screen just doesn't feel right......

@@MIKESMOVIECORNERANDMORE It does have something to do with that, movies have become so expensive to make, they need to fill more seats to get their money back. Rating it R just means less seats. So for this movie to be in theaters, they would have to cut it to pg-13, the risk is just too high.
And also remember that this series has only become worse and worse, the first movie was a phenomenon, and is a true classic. But the next two, not so much. The third one is pretty much disliked by both critics and regular movie goers combined.
So there you have it. I think it's for the best that this is kept out of the cinemas.
I just watched all the BHC films (could have done without the third movie) and I'm ready for this one!
I'm just happy that all of the main characters are still alive to make this possible. Hopefully they'll make another 48 hours movie.

@@CraigMcfly1985yes, but for example, Die Hard was forced to go for a PG-13 for their 4th film. I think a couple other franchises have been forced to go for a more accessible rating for a sequel as well.

I have never been so excited to see one of my childhood favorite movie franchises with the whole band back together again! This film has greatness written all over it which begs the question, why send this straight to Netflix when this easily should have been in movie theaters worldwide?
The editing of this trailer is excellent because it includes echoes of what made 1 and 2 fun: chases with ridiculous vehicles, creeping around a mansion with guns looking for the bad guy, and casing a building out where the oil rigs are. Can’t wait for this instalment!
I think it's fantastic that after 30 years, the classic films from the 1980s and 1990s are now receiving sequels. Continue to restore our heroes.
Except that almost all legacy sequels sucked ass. Star Wars ST, Terminator Dark Fate, Rambo 5, Indy 5, Jurassic World Dominion. They all sucked ass. Cobra Kai is the only good one.
@cosmicmate Yes, many have not been good, you're right about that. But there have been some winners. Top Gun: Maverick, Tron: Legacy, Blade Runner 2049 and Creed were all very solid follow-ups to older films. And while I didn't personally care much for it, a lot of people loved Mad Max: Fury Road, too.
