Axel knew he pushed the guy to the point of punching him. The fact that Bogemil offered to let him press charges made him react like "Wait, what? No, that was just a strenuous difference of opinion, wtf?"
I find hilarious when he's still in handcuffs in the beginning, he speaks with such sincerity.
He's not being a smart ass, he sounds genuinely awestruck when saying "this cop car is nicer then my apartment."
This was such a great movie!!! I love the way the two cops driving Foley to the PD look like Calvin Klein models! 🤣
I thought one of them might have been Rob Lowe but I think he was too tall and old.

If not for Eddie Murphy, it would have been a potato in the tail pipe but he was right, potato in the tail pipe is not funny.
The fact that eddie murphy is 23 years old in this movie is funny. Because he looks 30 in this movie.
And in 2024 he looks at only 35.
The mustache makes him look older 😅

Lands a lot different in 2024.
The flip side of that is, you don't cover up immoral or illegal acts. Otherwise, you're a collaborator and just as dirty as the rest of them. And then the public won't trust you to uphold the law and they'll take it into their own hands without training or discipline. Sounds like a recipe for The Purge to me.

He even had to correct a mistake.

This must have been after he was a car mechanic up in Spokane. His son was a pretty good high school wrestler up there.
He relocated to Detroit as well.
And he was vice president of the united states, until the president fired him.
my 80s youth brought me here. I'm so happy that I can share the new and the old school to my nephew.
I left my youth in the 1980s as it didn't want to follow me.
Probably the coolest decade to be a youth and I'm a 90's kid.
I can't hear that theme without hearing Peter Griffin humming it with the " and another do do do da do"
The latest film brought back some of the charm of the first film. But what makes this damn near perfect is the supporting character development throughout. They all start hating Axel but through various moments you see their reactions and they gradually warm up to him as the scenes go on. It’s a great film in character development study.
All i hear is Peter Griffin humming the tune.
One of Eddie Murphy's best movie! Id rewatch this hundreds of times as a kid.

I’d go as far as saying it was his best, it was all downhill after this gem of a movie, I thoroughly enjoyed it in the cinema way back in the day when it was first released 😊

Beverly Hills Cop 1 & 2, simply a great period to watch movies. Eddie Murphy was on top during this period. Great supporting cast as well.

High Technology !.
Funnily enough, a lot of that was obsolete already at the time, things moved so fast then for a few years.
Funnily enough where Foley came from there were almost no computers so even at the time, it felt like high tech. It was supposed to contrast the difference between what he used to work with and Beverly Hills "elite".

Police departments, however, are like the military. The items got brought by an official and took a long time going through procurement.
so by the time it was in service, it was out dated.

Ahh... the start of some beautiful friendships! I love that in all the sequel we get to see that they've been going on yearly fishing trips together, and that they're excited to hear each other on the phone. Part of the fun of the series is how these guys become buddies and are friends through these cases!
Makes me want to rewatch the series.
First movie was different and ground braking, the second rode on the success of the first but was contrived, the third was a wack money grab, and I have no intention to watching the forth, as its a tired rehash for a fading star. The TV series is just a money grab based on nostalgia of the first movie.

It was filmed in 35mm, which is equivalent to 4K.

Good call. That was shot in a particularly excellent kind of film, at a high ratio, and with a new kind of camera, the clarity was really something for us to see. Everyone was astonished by the size of the opening scene when the show started, I remember.
Did you think that digital cameras existed in the 80s and they shot on them and so every film from the 80s looked like it was filmed on a webcam or something?
Do you even know what _FILM_ is? Jesus christ...
Such a great scene imbibed with a lot of heart and class. Really establishes the connection between these key characters that'll develop in the rest of the movie, and does so in a believable way that makes us invested in all of them. So much can be learned about filmmaking and story building from simple but masterful scenes like this.
It's so weird seeing Ronny Rox playing a good guy.
He actually played good guys before Robocop.
You should have seen him in Deliverance.
Watch “Deliverance”. He and this little kid battle it out on banjos.
One of the funniest movies ever made.
Nah...good movie but honestly, its not THAT funny. Its more action then funny. I look at it kinda like I look at Ghostbusters..good movie but not really as funny as its hyped up to me..a few funny lines, sure but thats about it. I like them both for the story more than the humor...now Trading Places...THAT was hilarious.
This was a really amazing movie. I bet i watched it 20 times on vhs.
The cop driving the car looks like Will Ferrell
I thought this was a deep fake of Ryan Gosling at first by the thumbnail. Driver does look like him.

Timeless movie. Just watched 1 & 2 again. So good. Axel F was just OK. Kind of like a reunion film.

Reminds me of the NORAD scene in WarGames and how glamorous that set was compared to the actual NORAD command center.

I think this is the beginning of three beautiful friendships.
Somehow they managed to have the same atmosphere on the 2024 one. It really looked like something left from the 80s.
Wow, It's so sad seeing them in the new BHC movie looking so old now, I was 20 watching this in 84, 40 years on, and this is still a great watch.
