I know this is a year old, but I've always enjoyed watching and learning from you both. "Sad stairs are good stairs" is something I'll never forget. Thank you sir. As usual, great job.
Those metal stringers are awesome! I ordered those off Amazon for $35 a pair. I ordered 2 sets because my steps are 6 feet wide when I open both doors of my she shed and I wanted to use 3 stringers. I followed your directions and they installed perfectly straight, level, rock solid sturdy and EASY! I stained my steps to match the paint on my building. Beautiful! I am a 69 year old great-grandma of 4 and I was able to do these steps all by myself!!! Thanks a million for sharing your video :-)
alternatively to using that right angle attachment for drill, install stairs on first while upsidedown. Then just flip it and attach to trailer as last step
Thanks so much for showing these 2 step black metal stringers - I had just purchased 2, 3-step wood as I am adding on 2 steps to a new landing, but I like this 'floating' look as it will be indoors on top of Eng. hardwood flooring. [suggest next time to assemble the steps onto the frame, and then attach it to the shed.]
Great video! I've been doing stairs for years and never thought of the secondary reason for sad stairs. Your explanation is perfect for that secondary reason. I'm in the middle of installing these same stringers and it's the first time I'm using these. Was looking for an easier way to attach the top of them. I'm going against a foundation block wall. Wish me luck, I forget how it went together when I installed these stairs like 15 years ago. Still tearing out the rotted stairs, but should be done today with the project. Thanks for the video!
I really like watching your videos! The videos make me smile or laugh when you two are together but also learn something new or having creative ideas. I'm so glad Angie has her own place to make her soaps!😊
I pet sit for a couple that need these on their back door. They only have some cinder blocks and I'm getting too old to step out on icy blocks. Will send them a link to this video. 😄
I had my back porch redone last year. He installed two steps for me one going up to the porch and one step inside the porch going down into the crawl space. He used metal stringers on both of them I am pleased with the metal.
Thanks you two. I bought the exact same stringers to build my back steps. I really had no clue how to attach it to the ground, and the treads to the stringers.
You are so welcome! It was the reason we started a RUclips channel waaaay back -- to give back somehow all the things we learned by watching other's videos. :)
Hi guys, did a great job with the stairs and I wanted to thank you for the side note of "the sad stairs" , I never would have thought of that. I will keep that in mind when working with wood. Two thumbs up 👍👍
HomeRenovision DIY used those same stringers on his deck. Definitely a channel that homesteaders should check out, really great tips/tricks. Hope you don't mind me shilling them, but I really want him to have some collaborations with the homestead community. I think it's a match made in heaven considering.
Hey guys I just got my electrical box gizmo you used to cut the sheet rock out around your outlet boxes. I can't wait to try it out! Thanks for the tip. I am terrible at measuring, but great at eyeballing LoL. Thank God the hubs is great at math
The board you used looks thicker than 2". I'm a big guy too and am wondering if that's strong enough to hold my weight. Thanks for the great info! You saved me lots of money :)
Sam you’re lookin’ good! Love the stairs Angela. News Flash! Ferrels are always Ferrel in their own way! I had three. The oldest is now 44. Hold on tight! 😌👍🏻

I've never seen these types of stair stringers before. What a great idea. When in doubt, go to RUclips, never know what you can learn.

Angela's got a nice little place to work. Well organized for maximum production.
The wife and I just bought a barebone mobile home and your videos have given me so much confidence to get the renovation started!

Love the plain spoken-ness of your presentation and the two of you together are a hoot. So genuine, so real.

Sam makes these projects look so easy.

Haha . I’m waiting on my stringers to arrive & I thought I’d type in “how to make stairs with metal stringers” & you guys popped up. Thanks guys.
I don't know which I love more, the stairs or the paper towel holder!
SAM AND ANGELA, ANOTHER GREAT JOB AND I LIKE THE METAL STRINGERS. THE SOAP SHACK IS COMING ALONG GREAT. HAVE A BLESSED WEEKEND.
We used these for our lower deck to the yard last year. I never thought about looking at Amazon. We bought ours at home depot. Still love them
Your soap shed looks great.
Good tips. I am building my own and first lower deck with 1 step. Thank you for tips

You are getting to be right up town, fantastic.
I never knew about "sad"stairs , but you made a good point about the water .
Just an idea: Got a saw mill close by to pick up some free slats to make a hand rail?
Great job on the steps! 💖 yaw!!! I miss seeing the ferrels!😘
