I have watched several reviews of this stove and yours is the first person to actually use it to cook on instead of simply making a fire in it. Since the stove is so well insulated I still want to know how long it holds heat and a suitable fire going for either slowly cooking on or heating once you load it with fuel and close both doors.
Yesterday I cooked for 1hour large frying pan filled with chicken chilli seasoning and water. Cooking added water turning 20 minutes and ate thill my belly couldn't take any more. I dumpster dive and have a lot of Doritos I used as fire starter. This allows you to get longer fuel really going when you place it horizontal. Sure I overcooked ate chicken with just a plastic fork. You know you just want meat ? Wanted hamburger but I'll wait for a new POTUS to enjoy affordable beef.
For smaller cooking items put a cast iron griddle on top and then put the small item on it. Also with a cast iron griddle you can put several different cooking utensils on it.
THANK YOU FOR THE REMINDER...i used my pocket boy yesterday and said many "unkind" words to it..im used to usieing the BAHCO!!!! lol. the pocket boy really works great if you remember how it works...lol...glad i was only cutting wood for my firebox nano....i love my eco zoom versa!! im not sure but i THINK???? it was jnull0 i saw one time use it for canning and baking..a couple years back maybe
I think it’s a stove that definitely has it’s place outdoors. It is big, but useful. I really enjoy cooking on it. It’s more of a shore fishing, car camping stove though.
For a more medium cook setting, is it possible to double stack the skillets, with water in the bottom one? I have the silver fire version and love it for cooking large meals or heating water for bucket baths in a power outage situation, but I haven't experimented with creating a simmer option. Perhaps you already have? Thanks for posting Shane!
I haven’t tried a simmer option other than, her feeding in small amounts wood and watching the stove and the food. I don’t see why double stacking skillets wouldn’t work.. thanks man. I appreciate you coming to visit and hanging out.
Nice video. I have the Ecozoom Jet Economy (or Jiko). It’s more of a charcoal stove, but very similar. I’ve gotten a lot of use from it and it is very efficient with the charcoal.
Commenting while watching... The ecozoom is an interesting cooker. You showed the limitation of size of kettle. And immediately I thought of mods for the ecozoom. How about trying to use a house gas stove round burner grate; that way virtually any pot or pan you want to use will fit? How about setting up a makeshift ceiling so that no bird will poop in the pan; or chemtrail ladened mist, or random tree debris for that matter? What would make for an effective height for something like that? Winter use is interesting, will the ecozoom work well in frigid temperature? I remember as a kid I tried to use our charcoal bar b que to cook some dogs. It was way too cold for it. I would love to see mod ideas for this cooker. Whether for kicks or for survival use, cooking to cleanup, storing to transporting.
i have 2 small pack grills from pathfinder and UCO..i think?? anyway i lay one of the grills on top and use canteen cup and Stanley cups and any other pot i like...love the eco zoom versa!! All the coffee filter things you have..coffee rocket..pour overs etc and you didnt bring one..lol
Man, I’ve used this pan over a fire for years. I’ve had no issues with it. No Teflon flaming or anything. It’s been good to me. I’ve probably had it for 7 years.
Nice vedio with nice stove !!! Sir please tell me dimensions of this stove because it is not available in area where I live..I want to make it myself ... I want to know what is diameter of fire out let in centre of stove , dimensions of fire chamber, air inlet hole,?? What is distance between top fire out let to fire chamber???? I will be very grateful to you if you reply back...
I like how fast you talk. Straight to the point. Keeps people’s attention.
I had a lot of fun watching it, thank you. Nice channel 👍
That's a cool stove! Nice looking grub too! ;) Looks like a heck of a day in the Winter woods. Thanks for bringing us along, Shane!

I will look more In Depth at the cooking times and heat retention. I’ll post a video about it soon

I saw that stove in a magazine... almost got one, but decided to wait.. It was a good buy but a little pricey for me.

I’ll have to give charcoal a go. I’m sure it will e enjoyable. Thanks for stopping by!
I just pick a jet up from a thrift store for $20. I can’t wait to try it out!

Lol. Thanks for the comment!! I like to try different methods of coffee. I’m really loving the coffee rocket at the moment though. Hehe.
awesome video ... encourages me to get out there. Thanks for sharing
Hey thanks man! I appreciate it. It’s been a bit cold, but nothing we can’t handle n
Nice video. 👍
Appreciate you. Thanks
うーーん、美味そう。雪に囲まれれば更に旨さが増すねぇ
Another thing you can do is put an alcohol burner is use liquid fuel to cook inside this stove anytime twigs are way too moist to be used.
Thanks for the advice!
Im not sure covering it is gonna do a lot of good when you set it in the snow lol. Great video though
lol this stove is so well insulated that dripping it in the snow only adds a cushion. 😉
For sleeping, you put yourself along the hammock, not across. That is how our Taino ancestors used it.
That pan says not to use over open flame. Likely as it is not rated for that heat level. You have a raging fire 🔥 hitting the bottom of it at times.

@@Shanecoffeyoutdoors cool. I prefer that to cast iron.
Interesting stove...cool vid! 🤓
Hey! Thank a lot! I appreciate you coming by and watching the video. Have a great day!
Do you know of a discount code?
I sure don’t. Sorry.
cool
It was a great time to be out and relax
👌🏽
Thanks! Right back at ya!
Does it emit enough heat for warmth.?
It does. Just have to remember, it’s a rocket style stove so it’s hot. Also. The longer it burns the more heat it retains, due to its insulation.
@@Shanecoffeyoutdoors thank you
#dontbestingyinthesticks lol
Lol!

Hello, it's about 32cm high and about 27cm across. Hope this helps.
