Hi, thats great to hear, I highly recommend it. A couple of videos ago I did breakfast in the snow with it. It's just so handy and easy to use. Let me know how you get on with it, thanks for watching, cheers.
I saw this stove about an hour ago, and my reaction was immediate in that I have to buy one. Just back from a 10-day van trip and no way to cook except Sterno cans. I love the idea of getting free fuel to cook with, and like most people, I love fire, especially at night. This stove won't need much wood to cook a meal, and since it's enclosed, the wind won't be as much of a factor when getting it lit. A fine job with the video; yes, it was too hot, so what, it worked. Cheers!
Hi there, what an awesome comment, many thanks. You won't regret buying one I think. I did a second review which is shorter becaue I missed out a few points like the weight, but also that fact that it takes biomass fuels and even briquettes can be used for slow cooking. Also you're right about the wind, just turn it around and it's good to go. I love it, thanks so much for watching the video and commenting, Cheers Chris
Best video on this stove yet!! We learn as we go. Great setup with the cast iron griddle and mini Dutch pots that I'll be looking for. And you said the key words brother "great fun " 👍. From a cross the pond save me some of that haggis .
Hey there Chuck, thanks for an awesome comment, I certainly learn as I go ha ha. I have been thinking recently to cook some Haggis as I don't think I have yet, so i'll put a bit aside for you! the mini pots were an accidental purchase but they really come in handy, especitally for breakfast with baked beans👍👍😎😎. Thanks very much and happy outdoor cooking, cheers chris
Finally found a video worth watching on this. It was nice to see what can really be done with it. That was a lot of food being cooked which was great to see. A bit pricey, but I can see now that it is worth it. Thank you! 😃
Thanks so much for that. If I closed the damper door it would of been better ha ha. The top plate I put on is great for cooking plus you can actually put pots on there to. Also you can use coals and do some slow cooking. All our energy bills have gone up here so the wife has given me the go ahead to buy a second one, finishing work and cooking a one pan stirfry is so easy. I appreciate comments like yours, glad you found it helpful, it makes it worth while, many thanks again, cheers Chris
That stove is both a wood burning stove and charcoal burning stove. When using charcoal you close up the top door and control the air flow with the bottom door.I've been using them for years.
Hi, 've never used charcoal but that sounds great, I'd really like to give it a try. In the mad moment of cooking I totally forgot about the bottom door, cheers for watching.
I just bought a EcoZoom rocket stove 3 days ago, not even used it yet, my mouth was watering looking at that amazing breakfast you made. well done my friend. "Thumbs up"
Hi there, thank you very much for watching. I absolutely love the ecozoom, I think that you will really enjoy it, it's very economical to. I have created a playlist of ecozoom cooking if you want to watch that, it's all pretty dodgy but it's all good fun, cheers for watching and the thumbs up.
Great video! I've been looking at these stoves for a few weeks. My search was brought on by recent power outages. People are talking about the grid going down and things like that. No one knows what's going to happen. So, I have ordered one. That griddle was some impressive cooking! I may need to get one of those, too, so I could cook a complete meal! Very cool! I think it will be nice to have one of these stoves on standby just in case. Thanks for the video!
Hello and thank you very much for watching. Nice name, I have three cats myself, all rescues 😍.The griddle is very useful to be honest, I used it last night to stir fry some rice, I hardly used any wood as it's very economical. I often wonder if the power will go out here too. A good kettle means that you will have access to hot water. I use it for tea but also to fill a hot water bottle. Also when I fire up the Ecozoom I sometimes cook a few meals at once, just to get the most out of it. it saves me on electricity. Thanks for watching and your feedback, I really hope you enjoy it, all the best, cheers.
Thank you very much. Look back I'm glad I didn't either, it's my most watched video. The EcoZoom is still going strong. Thanks for watching and the comment. Cheers Chris
Hello, I'm really pleased to hear that, it's my favourite implement to cook on, it's so economical but also fun to use, thanks for taking the time to watch, cheers.
What a marvelous demonstration! I loved watching more than one type of food cooking on top of the grilled piece. I loved the cast iron tiny pots. What brand are they? That was great. Thank you.
Hello there, thanks for a great comment. It all went a little wrong but i still managed a breakfast. I bought those two little cast iron pots from Amazon thinking they were bigger! I think they were Mini Cast Iron Casserole Dish, but I didn't see the mini! With that hot plate on there you can cook so much, as well as placing pots on it to like you would a hob. Thanks so much for watching, cheers.
Hey there, thanks for that, so glad to hear you're going to get one. I had mine out today and it really was so easy to do my lunch and no electricity used. It's five years old and still going strong, thanks so much for watching and your comment, hope you really enjoy it, cheers.
@@northernembersoutdoors1045 I'll get mine on Thursday from Amazon. I'm looking forward to it. I currently have the camp chef stove/oven. I love it. I just want something that doesnt have to run off propane. Thanks again for the video. It helped me make the decision.
Sounds good, it's perfect for the fry up, I've even seen someone slow cooking a stew on it, very versatile, thanks for sharing that and leaving a comment, cheers.
I just ordered one of these, I'm going to have to get a griddle like that for it as well, good way to cook for multiple people it looks like. It seems like it would have to be fairly heavy to keep it balanced on top, how heavy/long would you say that one you're using is?
Hey there, that's great to hear, i really hope you enjoy using it. That's about 18 inches long that griddle, by about10 inches. A bit of weight to it but its worth it. I have done a video where i used the griddle but put pots on top of that, so it was like a hob. I also use a skillet pan and i've even used a stock pot and a wok. If you use charcoal instead of wood you can also slow cook, i've seen it done. I hope you have a great time using it, thanks for your comment and watching the video, cheers.
I still have 2 1/2 minutes to go so I don’t know if you cover this but my thought right now is that you could slide out one or two pieces of the wood to lower the heat Because it’s cooking so high.
Hey thanks for the comment. The main problem is the bottom damper door, it is open, if i closed it there would be less air flow and the wood would burn slower. In this situation though absolutely a little less wood would of helped. It all happened so fast I just forgot to manage any aspect of the fire ha ha. I did do a shorter 2nd look at the stove and the control was much better. I'll put a link should you wish to look. Thanks for your view and great comment, cheers. ruclips.net/video/Q-EytZOYi3w/видео.html
I have an Ezy Stove which is similar to this. To control your heat you need to pull out some of your fuel. You can use some pliers or tongs to pull out some of your wood when it gets to hot. Otherwise these types of stove of stoves work quite well even if you have one that does not have damper doors.
Hi, certainly I should of had less fuel ha ha, on this model there is a damper door which would of made for a slower burn if closed!, I will google up and have a look at the stove that you are talking about, thank you for the tip and for taking the time to watch and to comment, all the best, cheers.
@@northernembersoutdoors1045 Good Day Mate, I used to teach so the comment was my way of letting others know that another way of controlling the fire was to reduce the fuel.
